EVERYTHING about Grand Kaptan was amazing!!
Food was delicious and had a wide range to choose from.
The entertainment team was brilliant and put in so much effort to entertain you!
The reps looked after you so much when you go out clubbing with them!!
Clubs are brilliant!!!
Me and my friend had so many good times with them at the clubs.
Beach is across the road where you can do water sports, volley ball, balls, and have the tasty beach food from the hotel restaurant.
Also the pools are lovely and big! Also the entertainment crew play water games with the guests which are really funny!!
Nothing to fault about this hotel.. Will defiantly go back.
Don't believe the negative things that get said because the hotel is so helpful, caring and the best!!
LOVE THE GRAND KAPTAN HOTEL!!!!! :)

My hubby and I had the best time ever at this hotel during our 7 days holiday in June 2014!
Check in was smooth and easy. The room was very spacious and I'd suggest to request a sea view, as our room was not and it was a bit noisy from the nearby road. As we've booked for all inclusive - our room fridge was stocked with beverages every day. The breakfast is served from 7-11 (so plenty of time to sleep longer and still get breakfast) Lunch from 12.00-14.30 and dinner from 19-21pm. One evening they've even started the dinner at 18.30 so guests could watch the World Cup at 19!! Very thoughtful! There is plenty of entertainment for kids and adults alike - during the day you can play water polo in the swimming pool, do water-gym, play darts or volleyball and boccia on the beach. The entertainment team is very nice and friendly. Evening activities mostly take place at 21.30 in the hotel's amphitheatre and are really fun! There are all together 5 bars at guests disposal - with drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), fruits, cakes and ice-creams. The beach bar is available to all guests and all inclusive guests can get plenty of drinks and also have a la carte lunch on the beach.
Rooms are cleaned every day by very kind and pleasant cleaning ladies; towels changed daily, small shower gels/shampoos/soaps are provided and beach towels too!
There is a hairdresser, manicurist, a market, a photographer and a doctor in the hotel - so whatever you need it's in the hotel itself:) Free bus from the hotel can take you to Alanya centre and back from the Ataturk Monument. A taxi each way costs about 25-30 Turkish Lira.
Food is really delicious and can cater for all tastes - there are always several meat, vegetarian and diet buffet options. I would suggest to not to eat the food that has already been served for lunch, as I got ill one evening - despite that, the food was great and hubby and I were very pleased with it.We didn't feel anyone was running after our money and wanting tips at all, as some other reviews suggest.Overall we had a very, very relaxing stay at this hotel and would strongly recommend it to anyone!

Hi to start this off when we booked it was 4* when i arrived it was a 5* hotel,i was for there us all-inclusive.so free beer, spirits, cakes ice cream and etc..
everyone was helpful, especially the entertainment team and doctor and the maids.
The hotel itself is easily to get lost on 1st day but after that you get the jif,the hotel itself was clean, well presented the pool was brilliant and clean, but the hotel beach was rocky, but it doesnt matter you can catch the free bus to city which takes abouts 8-10mins.
The city is really nice aswell so many b+ fake goodies
The show starts @930 everyday but theres a kids mini-disco @845... if you got kids they will love it...
Most of the information is inbetween the reception and the lift,so you know what‘s happening on that day, most people don‘t know about.... and when you depart the hotel...never let them take the luggage take it yourself... i got a friend that i met in the hotel that had the same flight with us.their luggage got left in the reception..... all out experience excellent

I have so mixed feelings about this hotel like never before. I have never been in place when people run constantly after your money and demand tips at absolutely every occasion. Let’s start from the beginning. When we arrived around 7 am after night flight followed by 3 hrs transfer from the airport we were told there was no reservation for us within the hotel but the reservation was made with other hotel with similar name so we need to transfer to the city centre. We got very angry as we were aware of the other hotel with the same name but we specifically booked the one outside the Alanya city. At this point we were asked to wait for manager who supposed to show up around 9 am. In the meantime we tried to contact our agency by e-mail but in this 5 star hotel you can only dream about internet connection. We have asked if we could have something to drink and we were left with nothing for 3 hrs. Anyways the manager did not show up at 9 am but at 9.55am we were told we got a room. I think they realized we are not stupid and not going to travel by taxi to another hotel with the same name buy much lower standard and no fancy about tipping them so they gave up. Unfortunately it was too late to get the breakfast which was served till 10 am and we already paid for it. That day we got food poison form the kitchen and spend 2 days vomiting and staying in bed. After that it was relatively smooth and nice, food was great, no more sicknesses and there was always plenty so we dii not have to rush to eat as you learned from other people being in different hotels. There was a great choice every day and I have to say I was really happy about this.
They have 2 pools but usually it was very crowded. Moreover water slides for children were not opened all day and usually they were on when animation team organized water activities for adults at the same time in the same pool. How stupid was that? The beach was very nice, plenty of beds and a lot of space. Sea was great and we have enjoyed it a lot. We could easily get to the city centre by bus which run form the hotel. Do not forget to ask where the pickup point is as it not so obvious. We liked animation team very much and entertainment which was organized by them every evening. I think they did a great job and this qualifies for 5 star. Rooms were small and definitely not 5 star by any standard. They were cleaned every day and hotel was extremely clean. I could not complain about that. We could not keep anything in the mini bar provided in the room as the temperature inside it was close to room temperature. We had insulin type medicine which needed to be kept in the fridge. We initially asked about possibility of storing it but when it came to the point we needed to put it in the fridge there was a huge problem created by stuff. It took us couple of hours to solve this problem and we were so angry that wanted to buy a small fridge and keep it in the room for the period of 2 weeks. We faced another issue with stuff when we were departing as they lost our icepacks to keep medicine while we travelled back. At that point I had enough. I am not a picky person; I have lived in 5 countries and visited 13 more but never came across so bizarre approach. However after exchanging experience with other people from different hotels we have realized that this one was not that bad. While traveling there you have to keep in mind that even though the country is beautiful people are not always honest. Do not try to ask them what type of tea to buy or which halva and other great products they have. They will always tell you to buy the one which is the most expensive but not necessary the best quality. People constantly seek opportunity to get money out of your pocket complaining about not earning enough but unemployment there is very low and many European countries can only dream about that numbers. The bottom line for my family is that we definitely are not returning to Turkey again.

we stayed here for a week in june 2013, i was traveling with my mother in law and my two children age 8 and 6.
first thing that you notice is how really clean everything is. from the entrance to your room, dining area, pool area... everything. the service is very good, but they don't speak a lot of english, except for the staff that has to interact with the guests directly.
the food was almost excellent, i only felt that even though we are in turkey they didn't really had to use so many spices cause on many occasions my kids couldn't eat the food since it was too spicy or sometimes even hot. but who doesn't mind that, there is a lot of varieties to choose from. and it is like that for every meal. also lots of fresh fruit, and deserts, at all times.
the towels were changed daily, bathroom and also pool ones.
pool area was also really nice, they have separate pool area for the kids if you want to go there, where the pool is not as deep, and has louder music on, and some slides which were on at certain times, also pool games and entertainment, and my kids really loved it there. pool water was at excellent temperature. the only thing that i do mind is the sunbeds and some german people. they used to leave their towels on sunbeds from the afternoon so even if you want to go down in the morning to get the place that you like those ones were already taken from the previous day, and like that for 7 days. the thing was that that was the only location around the pool that had the sunshine all day long, and is just next to the pool bar, so i ques that it was convenient for them, but why is management allowing it, i don't understand...
not too many kids, when we were there but we didn't mind, since it was not too busy and there were some young people also, and during the day when the older ones hide in the shade or go to their rooms we were jumping in the pool and having fun.
the beach area is something that i didn't like at all, quite small and like up the small hill from the sea... there is a restaurant, but we didn't spend much time there since the water was soooo cold at the beginning of june, and i only later found out that the sea in that area is always colder...
alanya centre is a buss ride away, which is ok, but if you want to walk around the hotel in the evening there isn't really a lot to see or do, but since we stayed only for 7 days and went to alanya for a few times, it was ok. the hotel has it's own bus to alanya centre which is free of charge but can be crowded and goes i think once an hour, but local buses can be used also, for a small fee and are ok.
all in all, did i like it? yes, beautiful, clean, big, great service... would i go again? no, because i think that it is way too expensive!

Me and my girlfriend booked this hotel during the summer and were really looking forward. We arrived on Tuesday aroun 9 p.m. We were asked to go to the restaurant to eat a bite or two, which we gladly accepted after our long trip.

When we got back to the reception, the night manager told us, there was a little problem - the hotel was overbooked! He claimed there were some cancelled flights and they took a few new guests. I did not belive 1 word however. I found it just outrageous. We could wait till 4 A.M. at the reception or we could go to the hotel´s sister, the Kaptan Hotel next to the Alanya harbour. We were quite upset but we accpeted the other hotel for 1 night. The trasnsport was organized from the hotel and it was for free (I wouldn´t pay anyway). The next morning the taxi took us back to the correct hotel.

As an apology we got a sea view and a massage coupon. We were promissed a fruit bowl and a bottle of wine, but we never saw them.

The hotel itself is perfect for all ages:
Food is perfect, there is always something to choose. You really won´t be hungry. Just the desserts are really sweet. And you can get an ice cream every day. A dress code is applied for dinner, but not everybody of the guest does so, what a shame.
The rooms are nice and cosy, cleaned every day. The staff really deserves their tipps.
The location is at the end of Alanya. It´s around 10 minutes by bus to the center but at least you have no disco next to your room so you can sleep all night long.
The pool is nice, as well as the waterslides. The pool bar is alo used a lot.
The beach is not that large but it´s fine. If you want a sunbed, you have to be there early to book one. There´s a lot of rocks in the sea, even really big ones, so you have to buy shoes to go in the water. Or you have to used the pier. But that´s not the hotel´s fault.
The staff and the animators are friendly and polite. No arguments or anything similar.
The reception could be better. There was only 1 kind lady who always helped. Not like those 2 jokers who could only laugh and didn´t even know where the nearest bus stop is. The staff speaks English or German. And nobody´s waiting for a tip. If you like the staff, give them an Euro or Lira, they will be pleased.
The free hotel-bus is going a few times a day to the centre and back.
Every evening there is something to do, but we don´t really like the animator actions, so we passed on most of the things.
The hotel offers an ultra-all inclusive, so you can eat as much as you like. You cal also drink the local alcohol, soft drinks, wine and beer as much as you wish. You have to pay for imported liquors of course. And everytime you ask for something you have to show your room-card. Gets annoying after a while though.
You can hear the muezzin from the mosque about 5 times a day. So if you are a light sleeper - bring some earplugs.
All the information regarding the eating-times, the TV, the bars and the service are in the room in the booklet.
The check-out is at 12:00, as usual.

The hotel also offers a shop, a hairdreser, a game-zone for children, a jewelry store, a doctor or a laundry-service.

We had a great stay at this hotel and we would recommend it to everybody. The guest are mostly German, Dutch and from Scandinavia. There were a few people from Turkey, Poland, Czech republic or Austria. And just a few Russians.

However, we cannot give 5 points because of the first night. This really shouldn´t happen in a 5-star hotel,. But we would go back.

A small tipp: learn a few Turkish words, the staff will appreciate it.
