The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and is kept spotlessly clean by an army of maids, waiters and other staff.
The food is of good quality and is plentiful. The waiters are pleasant and do their best to look after you even when they get very busy.
I was suprised at the lack of queues, and there was no arm band or similar system in operation.

There are hundreds of sunbeds- many on grassy shady areas when you want to escape the intense afternoon heat. I recommend the beach beds (four poster) but you need to be up early before 7) to get your towels out to reserve one.

Rooms are good but AC could be cooler. The maids clean every day and they leave them immaculate each time.

The kids entertainment is great (8.30 to 9.30) and the guy running it is fantastic at bringing out the best in them- the kids as a result are very funny to watch). There is poolside enetertainment for the kids during the day too. As other reveiwers have said the entertainment is not always great. There is a fair amount of audience participation with comeptitions etc. My advice is to get alomg, join in and remember that the team have a difficult job to do in entertaining a huge range of nationalities of all ages.

All three outdoor pools are good. The relax pool, as the name suggests, is great for a quiet relaxing day by the pool, although occasionally somone comes along and disrupts the calm atmosphere. Poolside 'petting' can be annoying.

A lot has been said about there being too many Russians and Germans. All I can say is that I met Swedish, German, Romanian, English, Welsh and Russian. All were polite and genuinely decent people. Their are polite and rude people of all nationalities. Overall, in my two weeks, people respected each other.

The sea can be rough and is pebbly, but you can still enjoy yourself. Swimming off the jetty is good fun. It is cool on the surface beciause an ice cold river flows into the sea on the edge of the hotel. The cooler less dense fresh water sits on top of the warmer dense sea water. It is interesting to paddle in ice cold moutain run off water (the Taurus moutains are nearby) and then dive in the warm Med'.

Alanya Town is worth a trip but costs about twenty pounds by taxi. Buses are cheaper at around 25p a trip. There are loads of fake shops as you would expect, and you can get boat trips form the harbour. Worth a visit, but one or two visits was enough for us.

We had a fantastic time here, so if you have booked it you have chosen well.

We stay there for a week- 2 adults and a kid aged 8... The hotel is not spectacular, but it is cosy.
Brief summary:
Hotel: main hotel with superior rooms and kind of 2 stories bungalows with comfort rooms. Friendly and helpful personnel. Hotel is mainly occupied by Germans, Scandinavian , British and Dutch people - in general calm family - so it is very civilized, quiet and cosy. No rush for sunbed, not crowed rows at bars or restaurant.
Beach: Sand with some pebbles at sea entrance. Very well maintained. There is as well grass before sand with natural shade. Excellent.
Bars: well maintained , friendly bartender , fast delivery. Drinks are good to excellent quality ( compared with Corinthia Tekirova Club were we stayed last time)
Restaurant: variety of salads, turkey meat, lamb, chicken, fish ..Turkish kebab, pide and a lot of garnishes...Overall it is well prepared.
Pools: 3 pools well distributed from space point of view with the hotel architecture. Clean( a bit too much disinfectant) and not crowed .Everybody had space enough to bath.
Entertainment : poor...the animation team needs a creative leader....D'arts, pool gym, bingo, miniclub...that all...They need to improve this..But for us was not very worthy as we took walks and stayed longer in Alanya...
Connectivity: 300m from hotel is a bus stop. 2 Turkish Lira for a fare to Alanya worth for a pleasant evening in the city! Good location!

Overall: thank you Maritim Club Alantur for an excellent holiday!!!!

P.S. Poor support from Romanian tourist agency!!!

Room Tip: Try requesting double room superior! from 2nd floor!

Nice hotel.

Pick a "superior room" if you look for a bigger room (than "comfort rooms") with AC always to your desire. You can have also Wifi in your room if you are lucky with the signal. :)

The only thing missing is the night club. Although they have one they don't promote it since they also offer club_buss to town.

The hotel is located at the beach, a 20 minute bus ride from the city centre of Alanya. The beach may not be as great as Kleopatra in Alanya but if you want the beach almost to yourself this is the place to stay. The hotel in itself is very big, 350 rooms located in a big beautiful park. The park is almost like a botanical garden and is very calm and well kept at all times. There are three big pools and several small ones for the kids, the biggest kids pool is covered, so is the playground which by the way is great.

There is nothing to do nearby so if you want some pulse you have to take the bus to town. This makes the hotel an ideal stay for families with small kids. You don’t need to leave the premises unless you want to.

The rooms are quite simple but spotless, there is a small fridge, the beds a bit on the hard side, TV has channels in German, Turkish and Russian. Also one or two news channels in English, French and Dutch. The only problem here is the AC which is centrally controlled and basically only works from 6 pm to 5 am. It's very hard to control the temperature and airflow so most times you go to sleep freezing and wake up in a pool of sweat. This flaw could easily be fixed to make the stay even better.

The staff is OK, probably better if you knew Turkish, German or Russian which basically are the only languages spoken at the hotel. We had a hard time getting ourselves understood in English and French. The ”animation and activity team” is bunch of unevenly motivated youngsters. The responsible for the MiniClub and the kids disco is very dedicated and weighs up for the others. The entertainment is not top class but hey, this isn’t Las Vegas. I’ve seen much worse at better hotels.

The hotel is only AI. There is apparently some sort of a la carte menu but we never figured out how it worked. We were satisfied with the big buffets included in the package. The Turkish night is especially exceptional, not to miss! The non alcoholic beverages which are all self service consists of the usual artificially flavored far too sweet stuff. For some reason all carbonated soft drinks and sodas are kept at the bars. If you want a glass of mineral water you have to ask a waiter for it. We found this inconvenient at times.

In all Alantur Alanya is a cosy hotel even though it’s rather big and spread out over a large area. There is never any problem getting a sun bed, the beach is never crowded and there is plenty of room for play and recreation. The WiFi coverage is surprisingly bad and terribly slow even if you are lucky to get a good signal.

We read previous reviews and feel that, on the whole, they are pretty balanced.

This was our first holiday without the kids and we booked this hotel via the web. On arrival, the reception area is less than impressive for a supposed 5 star but you quickly realise that reception is merely that. We went there only 3x in the whole stay. Once to get WIFI and the other times on arrival and departure. The reception is not the hub.

The hotel is set in very pretty grounds set right on the beach. There are several pools and we initially chose the 'relaxation pool' imagining that this would be with no kids. That was pretty much correct on day one but from day two, we chose the beach as it was spacious and very easy to get a sunbed. Sunbeds are absolutely no problem anywhere. There are so many around the pretty garden areas, on the beach or by the pools. It never felt crowded a any stage. That was also the case everywhere.

I saw some moans on Trip Advisor about the proximity of the road and the mosque. From our perspective, this was absolutely not an issue. Admittedly, our room was closer to the beach but even closer to the road, we didn't feel it was a problem. We heard neither the road not the wailing of the mosque from there. It's fair that once in the afternoon and at around 9pm the mosque is heard a little but it is really not an issue at all and should not put you off.

Like many other comments, I would rate the food very good. We did meet a couple that complained about it but they were being unfair. It was fresh, hot, plentiful and a good choice. If you go to Turkey on this kind of holiday, you have to accept that it is a well proven formula and it works. The format is the same as pretty much every other 5 star in Turkey we've stayed at.

The beach is beautiful and clean and was not busy and we chose the comfy sunbeds. There was never a problem getting a bed at any time (nor a table in the restaurant by the way).

Staff were courteous and couldn't do enough. It's true that German is the predominant language but again that isn't an issue. It is mainly a German hotel to be fair and week 1, there were few English voices. Week 2 there were a few more. We weren't concerned as we came to relax and unwind.

We didn't really participate in activities that seemed more low key than other hotels but we were on the beach a way away from the 'activity' pool so we wouldn't be good judges. I am used to the entertainment team organising volleyball and this was more of a self-organised event.

The rooms are relatively basic but very good facilities and very clean.

The only 'less positive' comments I would make are as follows:

1. The restaurant could have a bigger air conditioned area. It wasn't an issue mostly but I feel it should be bigger
2. The evening entertainment is beyond dire. If that's important, don't bother. Bring cards!
3. The location is a long way from the airport (2-3 hours)
4. There is nothing locally to do outside the hotel
5. The market is 25 mins by Dolmus if you want to purchase stuff. it's not too bad a journey but further than most
6. If you want lots of English company, don't expect this
7. If you have English teenagers, they may be bored unless they get on well as siblings or friends. There is a disco. I doubt it is great and I think it stopped at 1am
8. The kids club looked fine and there seemed some nice activities but again, they are overwhelmingly German (at least on the week we went)
9. The room was very quiet, the air conditioning worked well and it was fine. We felt the beds were a little hard which didn't aid sleep albeit neither did sleeping on the beach a lot of the day!

Some final nice things

The a la carte meal on the beach under a gazebo is a must do especially for 38 TL per head (we did it twice) - stunning. But it's only Weds and Sat and there are only 6 tables under the gazebos so book as soon as you arrive. It's not really for kids. Very romantic and more for adults.

The health club isn't as pretty as some but the staff are good and very professional. Azat was terrific.

Overall, we had a great time. Loved our time on the beach, the food (especially the a la carte), the weather, the service and it is really a very good hotel at a decent price.

Room Tip: Try to go for a room nearer the relaxation pool. Rooms around the 2000/3000

It´s the best choice in Alanya.A lot of good food, waiters are not so profesional, but very willing.I also very liked the guy who makes the show with the childrens altough I don´t like them so much. He´s the true showman. Also the black man,who makes the show after. There is also a nice beach with a lot of activities.Nice vegetation in the resort,it´s kinda botanical garden. When you are there, you don´t wanna and you don´t need to go to the city centre, which is full of cheating and rude people.
