Just arrived home and had a really good holiday. Couldn't really fault anything. The food was good, plenty of choice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our 6th time to Tunisia and had a great time as usual. Only slight complaint the bed was huge but too hard for my poor old hips. We went with Thomson holidays and the rep Laura was one of the best and most helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: A view of the sea and pool are the best although we had one at the side but was large and very clean...

This was the worst holiday we have ever been on!! we had cockroaches in our room and when we complained to the general manager and holiday rep we were told "what do you expect we are in africa!!". We had several belongings stolen from our room and when we told the rep and general manager, without us knowing the general manager went into our room and searched through all our suitcases, he then told us how he had rummaged through my partners underwear!!! when we told him what gave him the right to do that we were told "im the general manager!". We both had food poisioning along with several other couples there. The excursions we did were not as described and were pretty grim, the only one which we enjoyed was the ampitheatre trip where gladiator was filmed. The hotel itself was very dirty and we had to endure eating out lunches by the pool in intense heat with birds and stray cats trying to climb over us, there wasnt even enough chairs to guests so people were sitting on the floor eating their meals. absolutely horrendous. We went for 2weeks, along with many other couples we met out there, and they all said the same, that they couldnt wait to get home after the first week. Would definately not recomment it at all!!

on booking our holiday we were a bit dubious about going to tunisia as we hadnt been there before and had heard some bad reports from friends after booking, but from the time we arrived at bristol airport everything was fab.the flight was uneventful and very quick at 2hrs 50 which is great as it cuts hours off travelling times the hotel was very large, very clean and very friendly with mostly english guests, the only thing we could fault was the fact that there wasnt much of a choice in alcohol but other then that nothing to complain about at all, the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.the hotel staff, pool staff and annimation team were first class and we wil be returning again next year as the holiday was one of the best holidays we have had for many years would advise anyone to go to this hotel very relaxing plenty of sunbeds and excellent service all round. laura the rep was first class always around if you needed her and pablo the manager was always around too and frequently was seen in every part of the hotel.

I have been to this hotel twice and all the staff is friendly and they seem to know what you drink.
I always went at Easter school holiday time but I not been since 2008 but I hope to go next year.
This is all inclusive and the drinks service is great pleasant hotel and the food was very good but the usual complaint it a bit the same after one week.
I never been in peak time but I found no problems getting a bed and mattress around the pool.
Just be careful you seem to eat to much .

Room Tip: taxis are cheap but beware at the shops they are all over you.

This is our third trip to Tunisia and overall our seventh stay at a Riu hotel. The flight was 2hrs 50mins from Manchester to Tunisia which was great, the transfer time was about 20/30 mins to the Bellevue Park where we were greeted warmly by the Reception Manager, served a welcome drink and given a Tunisian nightlight full of sweets for our room (nice touch). We were then banded and given our room cards, towel cards, safe key whilst he gave an initial overview of the facilities within the complex.Like most of the new arrivals we just wanted to get to our room, unpack and go to lunch.
ROOMS.
We found room 1272 quite easily, It was clean with plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes (complete with safe ), The balcony had a nice view of the pool area, there is a fridge in the room( not to be confused with a minibar) . There is a separate Toilet Room, the Bathroom has bath/shower.(a warning to less flexible people, the bath sides are rather high to step over to use the shower, be careful). There is a hairdryer fitted in the bathroom (My wife prefers to take her own) but although the maids are very thorough they do not leave bottles of shampoo/conditioner, instead there is a shampoo/soap bottle in the bath and one on the sink (my wife took her own), my wife asked the maid( lovely lady) for a shower cap and she was asked to ring Reception whereupon they sent two up immediatly(no charge).
RESTAURANT.
The first night we were allocated a table by the Head Waiter which we kept for the duration of our stay, we were there for 2 weeks and the system was Breakfast and Evening meal served in the Dining room and the food was great with plenty of variety, lunchtime was served outside by the pool bar and the variety was poor ( This was altered in the 2nd week and al meals were served in the dining room, much better)
POOL AREA.
Beautiful, plenty of beds around the pool or on the grass area or on the beach. TIP.See the pool guys at the towel lodge tell them where you want your beds for you length of stay and they will put towels on them for you (Obviously they will expect a few Dinar at the end of your stay but it's worth it)
ANIMATION TEAM.
Work really hard involving people in different activities during the day(Archery,Boccia, shuffleboard, crazy game, pool aerobics, step, table tennis,Arabic Lessons.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT.
Down at the pool bar, not really my thing as there is a lot of Dancing from the Animation Team and occasionally a girl would join them. Twice a week they bring in a keyboard player in the Lounge bar and generally the Hotel Manager would do the singing, he would be the first to admit that he is not the best singer in the world but he is very entertaining.I think for the other nights they could bring in a pianist for some background music as there is a grand piano in the lounge. There is the American Bar which we didn't use so I can't comment.
STAFF.
These are the real stars of this Hotel, starting from the gardeners right up to the Manager they all say "hello and how are you "generally in whatever language you speak and they are really helpful. I guess everybody has favourites, mine were Mohamad the Bartender in the Lounge (very professional) and the Manager Pablo Gomez originally from Barcelona,Spain who is walking around the Hotel all day and into the evening, talking to clients and waving (I figure he must put 15-18hrs a day).

Tips you may find useful.
Tunisia is a closed currency, ensure you have small denomination English coins when you arrive for the Bellhop etc.Exchange you currency for Dinar at the reception, there is no charge but obviously you do not want an excessive amount so change a small ammount at a time, the reception will change notes back at the end of your stay but not coins.
Taxis are permanently parked outside the gate but always, always agree on a price before you get in (for e.g.Hotel to Port El Kantaoui = 5 Dinar, Hotel to Sousse =
10 Dinar beware : the fare doubles after 9pm),or alternatively do a deal with a Taxi Driver e.g. 4 of us, Hotel to Monastir taking in the Market and the sights and back for £20 plus tip.
SHOPPING
Bartering is their way of life, they start off with a crazy amount and you offer
about a third of it and you should meet somewhere in the middle.
THOMSON REP
Lovely young lady called Laura, she rings all her guests at least once a week to check if everything is satisfactory.

IN CONCLUSION.
We tend not to return to the same hotel again but we might be tempted here

just spent 2 weeks at this hotel and have to say what a really nice time we had the staff are very friendly and pabelo the manger is always around the hotel welcoming guests, the couple we were with had a major problem and he sorted things out very swiftly also i have to saythe rep laura was very hands on a great girl always checking that things were alright.lovely pool and good beach fine white sand, the towel guyswere also great fetching you a matteress and finding you a sunbed, the animation team worked so hard doing all the activites in the day and putting on some good entertainment in the evening, the food was good especiaily the soup it was always hot and there was plenty of choice you really would have to be fussy not to findanything to eat, but i must saythat the drinks were a let down vodkatonic very weak had to get extra shot onthursday nights its cocktails on the terrace followed by pabelo doing his caberet A TIP i went parasaiing on the beach had some nice photos taken paid to have them put on a disc beware when i got home and went to view them disc blank.

Room Tip: rooms facing pool get best views of sea we had 1016 1116
