“Excellent value for money”

We went all inclusive to Tunisia and this hotel didn't disappoint. We went for 10 days and got a great price so we were very satisfied with both the quality of the hotel, the food and the alcohol. The room was a little tired but who goes on holiday to spend any amount of time in their room and it was pleasant enough with a fridge for anything you may have bought. The food was nothing short of fantastic. Every day there was a vast array of foods, always something local, some Italian, loads of salad and fruit, a mixtureof meats etc. Sure, you couldn't get an English breakfast but I always think that anyone who goes overseas and expects that should probably stay in the UK! The hotel is a good 30/40 minute walk from the main port but it's pleasant enough. There are many shops that sell souvenirs and drinks / snacks very close to the hotel. I would return to this hotel for sure.

We spent 2 weeks at the hotel in May and we absolutely loved it. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them and the management are always around to ensure everything was running smoothly.

The hotel was very clean and our room was lovely, with plenty of wardrobe space and a nice balcony. The food was lovely (coming from a fussy eater!), there was always plenty of choice, and I would definitely recommend the pancakes at the beach bar in the afternoon! The entertainment was good, the animation team try very hard, and the piano bar was lovely.

We spent a couple of days by the pool but spent most of our time on the beach, never had any trouble getting a sun bed. The pool itself was quite cold, but the indoor pool was nice and warm so we headed there after the beach most days.

We travelled with Thomsons and booked the simply Sahara trip. It cos around £80 each and was good value as we saw a lot of Tunisia and it also involved an overnight stay, camel ride, jeeps, Star Wars set trip and food. We also booked quad bikes through Thomsons but if I were to go again I would go to another company as they outsource to a local one anyway and you can get it for half the price. We also visited the marina which was 5 dinar in a taxi, but that was mostly people trying to get you into shops so we didn't spend long there.

It's a quiet hotel so if you're looking for lots of night life and bars, it's not the place for you. But if you're looking for a holiday to relax in a fabulous hotel then it's ideal. We really had a wonderful time and hope to visit again soon.

Just returned from the Riu Imperial Marhaba in PEK and can say that all three of us (My husband, son and myself) enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. Hotel overall is kept spotless in all areas. Food was good and my husband was so happy to be able to get meat that was not smothered in sauce at every meal (the option to put sauce or gravy on you meat was left to each individual). The beach and pool areas were very clean. The only fault that we could find with the whole holiday was that we had to come home at the end of our two weeks. It is a hotel that is well worth a visit. There are also a few shops just a short walk from the hotel. Entertainment at night could be better but the animation team do try their best to keep people entertained, there is piano music three times a week in the piano bar and the staff in the piano bar deserve a special mention as they go out of their way to give you the best of service. I would also like to mention our room maid (we were in rooms 230 and 231) I cant spell her name but she was an absolute gem of a woman, who came to say goodbye to us when she went of duty on our last day. WELL WORTH A STAY AT THIS HOTEL..

I have just got back from spending two wonderful weeks at the Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel with my wife. What a fantastic time we have had and I would highly recommend this resort but more importantly the Hotel itself. This was our first time to Tunisia and we have said already that we will go back again very soon. The hotel is rated as a 5 star and to be very fair we wanted for nothing and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is all inclusive and you certainly get value for money. The hotel position, right on the beach front, means you have a stroll through the gardens to your own private hotel beach with plenty of parasols and loungers. The pool is great, again with plenty of free space around to get a lounger wherever you want. The restaurants are well laid out with white linen tablecloths for breakfast and evening dinner, the lunch is taken in the Beach bar area which is fantastic overlooking the sea. The choice of food is unbelievable and there are so many dishes to choose from you will be spoilt for choice, ranging from your typical meat and two veg right the way through to classic Tunisian dishes, with everything in between. Our room was beautifully clean and the daily chambermaid's attention to detail was just perfect. The staff throughout the hotel are courteous and ever so helpful. The want to make sure your holiday is 'perfect' and do all they can to make it happen. There are managers from all departments constantly monitoring the upkeep of the hotel and its facilities and the Hotel Assistant Managers, and indeed whilst we were there the General Manager, were all keen that we had a trouble-free relaxing and wonderful holiday, which we did. The temperatures reached a very pleasant 35 degrees but you had the benefit on occasions to have a welcome sea breeze to cool you slightly. The hotel can exchange all your money for you at a very competitive rate (£1 = 2.43 TN Dinars) and there are excursions of many types if you’re that way inclined, all reasonable in price. I could go on and on praising this hotel but for me it was one of the best Holiday Hotels in this part of the world that we have stayed in. We will certainly be going back!!

We were there from may 2nd till may 9th 2013.
at first at the reception they tried to give us a different room type - why it didnt suprise me? ;)
after a small chat at the reception we get a beautiful room with sea view - its good to pay for it , cause other rooms get ugly street view. The hotel is very clean - really clean. Room was ok - we didnt spend that much time in it to find anything to complain for. At the arrival they give You a table in restaurant for dinner - but dont be so sure you will have it the next day ;) we didnt, and the chef of the resataurant didnt solve the problem, and treated us like a couple of teenagers traveling for parents money - I`m 28, my partner 30 but we look more like 21 ;) which was still below the average age at the hotel that time. The next day they had some questionnaire to fill for people staying there - i filled my and didnt tick "great" when it came to the restaurant part - and the cheff of the headwaiter just took it and threw it away....it happened to me the first time ever!!! Dispite the restaurant - food was ok, beach is beautiful and clean. The thing i didnt like was the internet - it should be there, but it wasnt :) I also didnt like rude people who smoe during lunch time =/ I would like to thank the menager of the hotel who explain me why things look like that, and promissed me that this will change - hope it did ;)

Stayed beginning of June for 2 weeks and had a really nice time here. The rooms are of a high standard with TV (2 English film Channels & BBC World News) and Fridge with water and soft drinks which you ask reception to replenish on a daily basis.
Service was very good in line with other Riu's we have stayed at in Tunisia. Food good too especially Breakfast (Bacon, Sausages and Fresh Juices included) and Evening Buffets which were excellent. Lots of lovely Med Prawns, Roasts, Fish and probably the best Paella (lunch) I have tasted. We also tried the Asian twice and liked that too.
Very quick responses from reception if you had any requests, problems or questions, easy to change money there too. Evening entertainment consisted of a Piano Bar and Lobby Bar with terrace & fountain which was very pleasant at night. We did our own trips walking to the Marina along the Beach (about 30/40 mins walk) and catching a Bus along the main road (about 30p) to the Medina and Sunday market in Sousse.
The Pool had warmed up nicely and was never too crowded unless they had games on. Overall great staff and service with good choices of food and drink. Self service around the Pool with Wine & Beer on Tap as well as Coffee/Tea & Soft Drinks. Another Bar that served the Beach at the Lunch restaurant also served Spirits (generic in line with most Tunisian Hotels) and Cocktails. The lobby Bar was also open allday from 10am until 12pm - Piano Bar 6pm? until 1am - did not see any shows.
Probably not for the younger crowd if you are looking for nightlife etc. but there are Pubs & Disco's in Port El Kantaoui and Sousse if you wish. We were there to relax so suited us fine and no complaints to speak of. Should also mention the Free WiFi was generally very good around the Hotel and in Room and you need to get up early if you want an umbrella by the pool - we tipped as and when for good service.
Would recommend to couples and friends for a chilled out holiday. :-))
