“Very good hotel . Would definitely like to return .”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Just returned from this hotel on 14th October and would like to say my partner , my daughter and I were not disappointed . The hotel was fantastic . The rooms were spotless and very modern . I would like to say a big thank you to our waiter Moncef and the head chef Rajeb Kalib . I don't know why people are complaining about the food as there is enough variety of food for everyone . I'm a fussy eater but I could always found something to eat but maybe these fussy eaters who complained should stay in England and stick to McDonald's and Burger King . The beach was lovely , there was lots to do on the beach and the animation team were really friendly . Will definitely return . This is Tunisia not Europe so people need to know that they are very different to each other .

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview room, at reception on your arrival , as you may not get one .

Dear guest,

We thank you for taking the time and effort to write your opinion on your recent stay in Tripadvisor. Your review helps us to know how we can still improve the experience of our guests and to us that is of prime importance.

The gastronomy is one of the pillars of our chain and we can assure you that it is essential for us that our customers enjoy our cuisine. We do our best to offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy the rich and traditional recipes from Tunisia in several of our restaurants which are run by chefs of great recognition that only use products of prime quality. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon that European tourists need a while of adaptation after the sudden change in their diet and water consume. Nevertheless, we regret not being able to fulfill your expectations.

On the other hand, we would like to thank you for your praise to our housekeeping services, in Iberostar Diar el Andalus we always strive to meet and even surpass all expectations related to hygiene and cleanliness, it is very satisfactory to see that in this area we have been successful and this motivates us to perform even better.

Further, we are grateful that you highlighted the beauty and modernity of our hotel situated in one of the oldest cities in the country, where you can discover the magnificent legacy left behind by many cultures and civilizations, who were undoubtedly the first people to enjoy the town’s beautiful beaches.

Hoping to may receive you again in the future, we assure you in advance our most caring dedication, wishing we can change through it your opinion.

Sincerely yours,

Just back 14th oct well maintained, staff cannot do enough for you, very clean, welcomed with a cold drink on arrival, food excellent so many choices, fresh salads, fish, meat, pasta you name it they had it & deserts to die for, very clean beach lots of water sports, did the African Dream trip would recommend it to anyone, cannot fault this hotel Ibostar's are good hotels & this one certainly lives up to its name, staff are so polite & nothing is to much trouble, weather was good although we did have nasty thunderstorm the day we left. only disappointments not a lot to do in the eve but it's what you make it! also air con in the restaurant could have been used more frequently . well done Diar El Andalous we will be back.

Room Tip: we had room 261 it overlooked the gardens and was quiet at night & a whopping big bed :)

All in all this is a good hotel but is let down a little by finishing touches.
First of all the room we had was first class, clean, spacious and with a huge bed was more than adequate for anyone.
The staff were really friendly and could not do enough to help and always with a smile on their faces.
The animation team were really good, especially the evening entertainment in the ampitheatre.
The food was ok but some days were better than others with the popular dishes running out,and not replenished, however we didn't starve and we're still here to tell the tale.Do not book the a'la'carte restaraunt because its only in the poolside snack bar and they just bring you dishes without any choice of menu.
Do not book your airport transfers through Resort Hopper.Getting to the resort was fine but they did not turn up for the return journey. They were supposed to pick us up at 7a.m. but we were still stood waiting at 8.30 and then had to scrounge a lift with the Thomas Cook transfer bus, otherwise we would have missed our flight home.
The paved area around the pool was not big enough for the amount of guests in the hotel so there was an overspill onto the grassed area which was in a poor state even though it was not far from the pool.
The beach was nice but there was no snack bar as was advertised, this was a disappointment.
All in all we had a really good holiday as it was our first together, but as stated earlier it was the finishing touches.

This was my first time to Tunisia and i fully enjoyed myself (if my little boy wasn't at home with my parents we would have stayed a 2nd week). The Staff in every department were fantastic, i couldn't fault them.
Our room was lovely, as we were on our honeymoon they had a bottle of wine and a fruit basket waiting for us on arrival which was lovely. The room was always cleaned to quite a high standard every day and our towels were also changed every day.
We got a sun lounger poolside every day and never once was there not space. The selection of food was acceptable, i can be a fussy eater but i managed to have a full meal every day. The waiters at lunch were extremely friendly and our waiter had our table ready for us every day with our drinks on the table and regularly topped up (all for a little tip).
The entertainment team were great, they always had something going on and they were always very friendly and up for a laugh :-) They would always try and get people involved, as i found myself on stage at night a few times, but it was all in good fun and i enjoyed it. We got on particularly well with Carlo and Michael, they were fab and they work extremely hard and i cannot fault them. The night time entertainment was always enjoyable and afterwards every night there is a disco downstairs in the pool room which me and my husband went to most nights.
We did take a walk to the marina, and yes you do get hassled by the taxi drivers (quite alot) but as long as your polite and say 'no were ok thanks' they will leave you alone and go bother someone else. The marina is a beautiful place to visit.
We also visited the zoo and it was a good morning out. (we were supposed to go on another trip but drank to much alcohol on a night out in sousse with Carlo and Michael and was a bit rough the next day so we were unable to go).
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and it is definitely somewhere i could see myself going back to in the next few years, I just hope all the same staff and the same entertainment team will still be there. :-) x

was our first time in tunisia and we had a great time at the andalous.rooms were spotless every day also a good size with a kingsize double bed.cant complain about the meals, lots of choice at every meal and very tasty.staff and waiters were very friendly, tipped our waiter first night and after that he had a table with drinks ready for us every night.
a couple of minor complaints were that some of the other guests were very rude and ignorant which was surprising as most were 50+ years,it costs nothing to be polite to others.also when you set foot outside the hotel you were continualy harrassed by the taxi drivers who could not seem to take no for an answer.as i say they were minor complaints that were nothing to do with the hotel.
all in all had a great time on holiday and would love to return again sometime :)
