stayed june 2013 and the only good bits were the weather pool and beach. harassed by locals selling trips/souverniers, the guy in the local shop shouted what i think was abuse in arabic cos i didnt want to buy anything,...drinks watered down, food okish and im a fussy veggie. drains are smelly. smoking allowed in hotel so you would have to walk past a thick fog of it to get to the resturant not nice with 2 young children. kids did love the pool, nice and spacious rooms were clean although dated.
i personally would never return to tunisa as the people are unfriendly uness you throw money at them and think all english are rich when they sit there smoking 40 fags in front of u... there are other things that i wrote on a previous review but has vanished?

Great hotel staff more than helpful, initial problems with accommodation soon resolved by reception staff. Food, always a good choice something for everyone. Grounds clean and very nice gardens.Evening entertainment good. Be very aware of spa manager, promises what you don't get for a big price.Spa area very poor the pictures outside spa are definitely not the one there.Be careful not to be pushed into some of the trips. Animation team first class with adults and children.Evening walks to the port not worth it early season good during day.Only change money on an as need basis as it can only be changed back at the airport at a 15% surcharge. A good value holiday.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor

We stayed in this hotel for a week in August, myself, husband, 3 children and parents, having all stayed twice before in different locations in Tunisia.
It was very reasonable for a week all inclusive, but this hotel is a 3 star, so you get what you pay for...
On arrival we were welcomed with a drink and very quickly received our room keys, the rooms were quite basic, but clean.
The hotel it's self is in need of a good paint, on walking to the beach most of the pathways were chipped and cracked..
We were pleasantly surprised with the beach and beach bar, this really sold the holiday to us, and a few dinar each day to the sunbed man got us sunbeds and umbrellas every day! Unfortunately (no-ones fault) the sea was full of jelly fish, my 2yr old son and older daughter both got stung, the sunbed man did have cream and was very helpful, shame though because after, no-one would go into the sea!
The swimming pools were seriously over crowded and it was impossible to get a sunbed..
The children's pool was encrusted with scum around the outside, which was quite disgusting!
Also my absolute pet hate, plastic glasses, that were constantly slimy! Made me feel quite sick, they really should think about getting disposable cups!
The one thing we were fairly shocked about was the service at this hotel, having stayed in 2 different hotels in Tunisia we found the service excellent, a few dinars always went a long way.. We did not experience this at this hotel, in fact some of the staff were quite rude! only at the 2 serviced restaurants was the service much better and we happily tipped these guys..
The food was ok, drinks ok..
I would recommend this hotel if you are happy with a basic 3 star hotel..

We have just spent a week at the Riviera Hotel and had an absolutely brilliant time. My husband and two daughters aged 13 and 15 were treated so well by all the staff who were incredibly polite and helpful. The hotel offered everything you needed with a good choice of food in the restaurant and really useful snack bar by the pool for drinks and ice cream etc. the pool itself was incredibly clean, in fact the whole hotel was and whilst it's fair to say that some refreshing of paint on walls could help it really isn't that noticeable. The entertainment staff are great and very amusing but whilst they try to entice you to join in will never make you, the choice of what to involve yourself in is great with exercise classes, dance, water polo, aqua aerobics, darts, football and beach volleyball. The beautiful beach is a very short stroll through gardens and has a beach bar with same all inclusive policy as are the loungers. We have been so impressed we are looking to book back next Easter. We didn't book any excursions and decided to take a taxi into Sousse medina to have a shop around and see the old city. It only costs around £4 sterling to get there but what I would suggest is that you take an organised excursion as we felt a little intimidated in the markets and a tour guide would probably take you to more appropriate places. I cannot say a bad thing about our holiday and would recommend without hesitation. Weather was fab too, which helps...

Room Tip: The evening music is loud but does end around 11ish. We were in room 2004 which is quite close to th...

Me and my husband stayed at the Riviera in October for 1 week and after reading the reviews on here we went with open minds.
Our holiday was fantastic the food was super something for everyone's taste... The red wine was also very good.... The staff were truly amazing very friendly and welcoming.... The hotel was looking tired in places but I know it was due a refurb during the winter.
Our only complaint was the Spa be careful....the price they quoted us was not what we ended up paying... They told us this when we were half way through our treatments and we ended up paying another 50 dinar.
Other than that I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Just retutned from this hotel yesterday after 11 nights && we have had an amazing time. I travelled with my wife & 2 boys (3&5yrs) and would highly recommend it to anyone. There is plenty of food choice so you won't starve. Drinks are fine but if you want it stronger tip the bar man && he will either make it stronger or give you another shot to add to drink. Beach was outstanding and very clean......Sea warmer than the outdoor pools. Rooms are spacious enough and cleaned everyday. Fresh towels for both room & pool/beach. Animation team are very new at hotel but they tried their best & made kids disco fun for little ones.
Only negative was that smoking is allowed in almost every part of the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 3005 overlooks both pools but is above disco
