Ranked #11 of 43 Hotels in Monastir

Lots of issues. Really not worth it. Spend more and go to a different country. Beaches are grubby. Pool hygiene bad. Food disgusting. Entertainment boring as everything is said in 6 different languages.

Thank you Dear FiFiLa for writing review about us, even it is not what we expect from you.
We have many good features in the hotel, and our pool is one of the best here, maintained twice a day, and there is a big number of lifeguards everytime to guarantee the safety of our guests.
Same for the animation team, all members are trying their best to entertain everyone.
We know that in high season many things didnt work as expected but we are always trying hard to improve our services.

See you soon at Houda Hotels.
Kindest Regards

i never write reviews as i like to make my own mind up on holidays & im not that picky as its about the pool beach etc not the hotel, id read a few reviews & they seem 50/50 so thought we would take a gamble as it was cheap for 2 weeks all in but i feel i have to warn others who may get suckered in with the cheap price! so here is my honest review....we went there in june with our children aged 6 & 9, for 2 weeks, the animation team were really very bad, they tried there best but it was bad 1980,s style tack, also it never started before 10pm so a little late in my eyes when you have children, the food was really poor, you couldnt make a full meal that you could enjoy, everyone seemed to push in when there is no need so not nice, the crappy al la cart restaraunt you had to book early or you would not ever get to have a meal there, we did & again was very poor, the childrens free drinks & ice cream were awfull so we brought our own,[my children are not picky but when i tasted there pop & very small pots of ice cream they made me feel bad & i drink & eat anything usually!] breakfast time we had to queue up for 30 mins everyday for 4 pancakes [if the machine was working! although very nice!] on the plus side our waiter was a very nice chap who did anything & everything for us & the room was huge [we got it as our sea view room wasnt ready] they tried to move us the next day to our sea view room but the room was half the size & if you wanted to look at the sea you had to stand on a chair, hang out of the window & look left! so we smiled & went back to the other room asap! were so glad we did! also if your family is ill, the hotel doctor does not want to know unless you give him money 1st!! not even any advice on what to do!!!! if it wasnt for the water slides & nice weather & a super large room for relaxing in [it has 2 film channels so if you are ill & you will be it helps to watch a film to take your mind off throwing up] it would of been a total disaster as theres no where to go, just about 5 shops over the road thats it! so if you want you & your kids to loose half a stone each, [the wife was happy as she lost half a stone aswell!] eat scraps of food & watch really crap entertainment this really is the place for you but fo me & my family i would rather stick a fork in my eye than ever go there again! BE WARNED!!!!

Hi Dear Jenny,
Thank for writing about your experience at our Hotel and we are sorry that you didnt find what you exactly expected.
We are doing our best especially on the high season, our animation team is doing their best to satisfy all the guests from many nationalities and with different habits. The animation starts at 11 Am every day till the late hours of the night including kids club and special entertainment.
The food was very varied, and we can't satisfy all of our guests, but we are doing good as the biggest number of guests like the food, and are open to know new traditions. But in high season sometimes we can't offer our best services to a little number of our guests, but we are open for all kinds of critics and reviews.
We are trying our best to improve our servicesand we will be very happy to see you again at Houda Hotels.

Fantastic Holiday lovely hotel & the staff are wonderful . The food is ok but being in West Africa u expect different foods the good thing is if u don't like it just ask & they will cater for you !!!!! There are plenty of excursions to go on (really cheap). The pools are fab & spotlessy clean there are also water slides, football, basketball, tennis courts just adjacent to the front door & plenty for the kids to do.On the beach u can go jetsking, bananaboats etc & paragliding or just sunbathe the days away !!!! The animation team are great can't do enough for you the boys like the girls (such is life) I love this place its not 5 star so don't expect perfection they say u get what u pay for !!!! Well in my opinion u get more than you pay for!!!!! Forgot to say there is food & beverages available till 2am that's what u call A/I.You also get 2 nights A La Carte One Tunisian & One Italian foods amazing. Having been a returning guest at the 'Houda' for many years, I have just enjoyed my 'free' week, courtesy of the hotel. As usual, we had a fantastic holiday, with superb weather! All staff were attentive as always and went above & beyond, to make our stay more enjoyable. The chefs and kitchen staff deserve a special mention for offering to prepare special dishes, if there wasn't a good choice for us at the buffet - this was not necessary - but, like always, there was a great choice. Maybe some food looks strange to some people, but please don't 'knock it' until you've tried it. The hotel, obviously is quieter at this time of year, it is easier to get sunbeds & chairs in the terrace or reception at night, but even in the height of summer, we have found somewhere to sit. As we venture out and about, we don't have chance to join in with the animation as much as we'd like. Although each team we have met over the years are a great bunch, with some very talented dancers & gymnasts. Cleanliness of the rooms and public places were up to scratch, it would help if guests tidied up after themselves, especially after eating at the snack bar- there are bins located all around the pool. The hotels private beach is kept immaculate, by the hard working Farjani, and if any locals have time on their hands, could they please tidy the beach by Palm Inn?! We have never had any problems whilst staying at the Houda, but I'm sure attitude has a lot to do with that. Quote: “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” ~ Wayne W. Dyer
Glad the hotel is open all winter, looking forward to spending New Year with you all!! See you soon!!

I have just returned from my 3rd holiday at the Houda, but this was my 1st solo holiday. Although it was very quiet with few guests staying,as it was out of season, the hotel, gardens, outdoor and indoor pool were kept imaculate, with staff contantly cleaning even though it didnt need it. My maid kept my room clean, with nothing going missing, and replaced my towels and bedding everyday, with a cheery smile and a few words in broken English. All the staff were very attentive. The food in the restaurant was amazing, and I"m a very fussy eater! There was always so much variety, always fresh,so tasty and beautifully presented and the desserts are out of this world! Nobody could/would go hungry. The animation team were amazing too! They all kept going,(even though they work very long hours) putting on activities for 1 guest who wished to participate. Zouba was an amazing dancer and I watched spellbound when he was dancing! And I must mention the security both in and around the hotel and on the beach,it made me feel secure and safe. The only criticism I can find is there was limited choice of alcoholic drinks together with the rooms need updating, but saying this refurbishment was under way while I was there..There are no lifts in the 3 storey hotel, but if mobility is a problem for you, just ask for a ground floor room.I would recommend the hotel to all types of holiday makers. I cant wait to return to the hotel for my 4th visit, either solo or with my family.

Room Tip: In high season the rooms on the south are quieter.
