Stayed 1st 2 weeks October. After reading reviews was very worried and did think about changing hotels. Then reviews got bit better so stuck with it. SO SO GLAD I did. First family holiday and we all loved it. OK rooms basic and few problems but sorted straight away. Cleanliness in this hotel unbelievable always cleaning. Stray cats here but get moved on by workers so no problem didn't bother us. Waiters, bar staff, shop workers, reception staff everyone was brilliant. But the people who made the holiday was Ben and the animation team. All these reviews about them prowling for the young girls and to be careful of them!! ABSOLUTE RUBBISH they are doing their jobs and go around getting all ages shapes sizes and both sexes to join in the fun. They are genuine people with big hearts. We had a brilliant time with them and they go out their way to get you what you want. As for tipping they dont expect to be tipped and give you just the same respect if you tip or not. After 2 weeks there and service they give we tipped throughout as our choice and they are most grateful sermings their wages are low. But they all have a smile regardless on their faces. Go here and find out for yourselves I'm looking to book now for a week in February to celebrate my daughters birthdays where they will be 18 and 16 do I need to be concerned about them with the employees NOT AT ALL . Thanks Ben and all the staff for a excellent time and see you in next few months xx

We have just arrived back from a brilliant week in Tunisia. We were unsure what to expect as we usually only go 5* but it was great. The food was lovely, lots of choice and all fresh, (often cooked in front of you). It was very clean and the staff couldn't do enough to help.
The entertainment was also fun for kids and adults, and of course the water park was a huge hit with the kids.
We went in half term week and the hotel was busy but we never had to queue for the slides or have to fight for sun loungers.
One afternoon it rained alittle but we had great fun in the excellent indoor pool.
The rooms were a liitle tired but very clean and always hot water for a bath or shower any time of the day.
Would recommend!!!! Lisa Mcv.

Returned last week from the Houda, will never return...... The animation team were fab, the pool areas were fab but that's about it..... 2 hrs after arriving i wanted a flight back to Manchester, if it wasn't for my daughter believe me i would've booked 1.....The food was awful, very repetitive morning afternoon and night,we ate out every day... On arrival the 1st room we were given was awful.. it stunk like damp and was dirty, they gave us a 2nd room more or less straight away which was a bit better but still had a musty smell..... We had an altercation with a security guard (offering us a Tunisian souvenir), to be fair it was dealt with and the security guard was sacked, but in my opinion it should never have happened!!!! We met some fab friends which made it a bearable stay (just about)..... There is not alot outside the hotel unless u get a taxi into another town, beware of the horse and cart men as they rip u off, they do NOT take u where u ask them to....We traveled into Port El Kantoui which is beautiful and worth a visit..... Ben from the animation team is fab a really nice guy and looks after u as well as he can.... We tried to get moved to another hotel but was told it would cost £460 pound for the remainder of our stay, we paid enough to stay here so not likely we was going to pay that, we decided it worked out cheaper to eat out, so this is what we did..........I have put a complaint in with Thomas Cook and am awaiting the outcome...... I will NOT be returning to this hotel EVER......

It has all been said before in previous reviews and its all so true, the 'animation team' and 'lifeguards' (cough) is more like a jimmy savile (allegedly) workshop in sleaziness and a PHd in harrasing teenage girls and ladies travelling without male escort. It's a hotel for the staff to amuse themselves and not for the customer, with very few acceptions.....

After reading the reviews I was dreading our holiday. Please remember this is a 3* Hotel not a 5, if you want 5* go elsewhere and pay much more.

We arrived shortly before 3am on the Thursday morning and check in was quick (thank you) The rooms at this Hotel are very dated and basic but are cleaned every day - I believe they are having a revamp over the 3 months they are closed which will help this hotel hugely!

As with many other reviewers the food isn't the greatest, but you have to remember this is a 3* hotel , if you want 5 star then you have to pay for 5 * the chef's at this hotel cater for the masses and there are a number of choices to suit all tastes - Although it will be a very long time before I eat Omelette, Pizza, Pasta and chips again as this was my intake over the 2 weeks- my problem not theres. I very much recommend eating at the Italian and Tunisian restaurant - delicious food. Now tipping ......... we aren't shy with tiping on holiday as we appreciate that staff are on very low incomes and they work very hard for it however after speaking with other guests we were told we were crazy for tipping 10 dinnar at night. Many guests tipped less than we did and had drinks brought to their table at meal times- we never got this once, others tipped less than we did at the Italian and the Tunisian restaurant and were invited back we weren't lol Maybe our face didn't fit. As with most All inclusive holidays we all tired of the same food ( some of it slop) we ventured to Ali's Bar ( Ali Ali Ali!!!) twice for food and 4 times for drinks only.

ALI's BAR : You will find Ali's bar by turning left out the hotel and left again - behind the Safari shopping centre, his bar has union jack flags in the windows, Scotland, England, Wales flags inside the bar on the walls. We had an amazing breakfast here, and for 8 of us including tea/juice was £30 GBP, we also went for his fab steak dinner - 4 of us had steak, 3 chicken burgers and a pizza, 2 lots of extra wedges, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and it cost around £55 and it was DELICIOUS! Just what we needed to see us through. We also went back on the Sunday for Tea & Cake again delicious.

The Animation team at this hotel work their socks off you see them from 9.30am till after 11pm stopping for a bite to eat. The show's they put on aren't broadway but you can see just how much work they put in.

The swimming pool water is FREEZIN regardless of what pool you go too, but this doesn't stop the kids having fun. The slide pool lifeguard Oozy is a credit to this hotel. There were a few accidents on the slides and Oozy was there straight away to assist, also way to many kids going down the slides unable to swim and not supervised - a few scary moments when 1. they couldn't swim out of the way of others coming down the slides, and 2. a couple of kids near drowning PARENTS please remember these are your kids and your responsibility, not the lifeguards.

A real downside to this hotel is the Smoking. Smoking is allowed almost everywhere, staff will be smoking too but this is Africa and a different culture to ours. It would be nice though to sit in a smoke free lobby/ disco when the rain was on instead of a smokey haze especially as 4 of us are asthmatics.

Trips - we booked the Zulu trip BOOK IT its brilliant and the Thomas Cook rep show which was also good.

A holiday will be what you make it, go with an open mind and you will have a good time here.

Poor food, fights in the pool, poo in the pool, kids begged not to go back to kids club, had to shake my boobs to get a drink, sea full of stinging jelly-fish, people set their alarms to get up at 2.30 am to get a sunbed, fights over sunbeds,1 beer tap in the restuarant for 2000 people, not enough toilets in public spaces, massive cockroaches.... But Tunisia is a fantastic place to go and visit.
