Golden Tulip Carthage Tunis

I have stayed at the hotel a few times and 2 times the bed sheets were stained with food which had dried up. Must not have been changed for a while.

Also the cleaning lady left lots of hair behind after cleaning up.
The hotel staff are kind of rude to non French speakers.

On a positive note, the hotel is clean and the rooms spacious.

The hotel is located close to La Marsa, in a wonderful position with a fantastic view on the seaside. Distance from Tunis about 30 minutes by car.
The structure is elegant, with a spa, swimming pool, and a nice open bar.
Rooms are good, with free wi-fi connection. unfortunately I noticed some problems with the maintenance of bathrooms: no hot water available for the shower (just for the bath) and definitely the room was too noisy. A morning I was woke up by the neighbor having a shower. It was like having him in my room!

I stayed here for a total of 7 nights over the course of 2 weeks. It is a large hotel with friendly staff, although there is an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke throughout every room, even the non-smoking bedrroms.

There seems to be a shortage of double-rooms as myself and colleagues all received twin rooms with very narrow single beds. However, the room was clean (apart from the smell of smoke) and reasonably modern. The room key needed to be re-set every 2 days which was frustrating as the rooms are often a several minute walk from reception. Also, the sliding door to the balcony was repeatedly left unlocked by the cleaners which is a security issue as the room was on the ground floor. The safes are also very small so I would not recommend leaving anything of value in your room.

Free wi-fi did not work on the second floor but was okay on the 4th floor and at reception.

Breakfast was very good with a large selection of food. There are several restaurants on site although I only visited the Italian which was nice, with a varied menu.

Room Tip: Choose the 4th floor if you want wi-fi, and try and not get a room directly above the cabaret as it...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The breakfast had good choice of food with excellent customer service. The Italian restaurant had excellent food quality as well as the indian restaurant I believe is the best in tunis.

The accommodation was clean with all required amenities. It is not located in down town but hotel had free shuttle to town and back.

Overall an excellent stay

Found myself in this hotel for 24 hours and was not very impressed with it. From the outset, it's a clean hotel and the staff are friendly.

The rooms on the other hand were a big let down, the walls are paper thin and I could hear next doors conversation in full detail. The beds were rock hard and not very comfortable.

The air conditioning was only emitting hot air. All in all, I think the hotel is fine if not fussy but could of been a lot better considering it's such a beautiful looking hotel.

Conclusion, don't be put off too much but be aware.

We were on a cultural group tour and this was a good introduction to Carthage: pleasant hotel, reasonable bedrooms but an inadequate shower - unless you are prepared to use the hand-held one. There was an excellent breakfast with freshly cooked eggs and plenty of choice. The evening buffet was also very good and included local as well as international cuisine (we can still taste the lovely puds!!). Most of the staff were very pleasant but perhaps the restaurant staff were lacking direction from some of the management. As we were at the front of the group's queue money change was not a problem and concierge service was good, but this was not the case for everyone. We would stay there again.

I had a very nice stay at this resort hotel on the outskirts of Tunis with a stunning view nearby of the city below. The political and social upheavals hitting Tunisian society could be felt a little. The waiters and waitresses were sometimes a bit overwhelmed. I spent longer than usual checking out because the receptionist didn't know how to use an AmEx card. But all this was forgiveable because of the warmth of the staff. The outdoor swimming pool is wonderful (a must for me when I'm travelling) and the room was very comfortable.
