i came here and had the best week ever...
the rooms are a decent size and cleaned everyday, the staff were always plesent and polite and helped us when needed..
the best thing in the hotel was the animation, they couldn't do enough for us, and always kept my son entertained for hours, they have a fab mini club which alfies spent most of his days with sousou, and the mini disco was great as well they had alfie up dancing all night with sousou, marwen and momo
the only bad thing was that we had to leave as our holiday finished but we shall be returning in december cant wait
see u guys then

hotel diar lemdina (10 October/22 October)..........This is a very nice hotel, nothing is too much trouble for waiters, bar people, etc.. excellent food, the place never fails to please. go for christmas it is very relaxing indeed. and yes it is totally all inclusive.. no hidden extas here.. also if you visit the markets, be prepared to haggle, do not buy from the first shop you see either, or you will not get round it..
and everyday from , morning till night with animation program so nice ,,,, we never forget Marwen, our sweet animateur sorry our son.............. we love diar lemdina

Having read a number of reviews on trip advisor after I booked this holiday I was a little apprehensive as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We booked self catering and didn't expect to be welcomed to the hotel with a fruit cocktail on arrival which was a nice touch. The apartment was very large spread over two floors. We had a large master bedroom with double bed and lots of storage space and a safe and an en suite bathroom. The children had another large bedroom which had two single beds, we are a family of five and the third child was initially expected to sleep on one of the day beds downstairs, which wasn't acceptable to us as the children are young. A quick chat to housekeeping and they bought another bed to have upstairs and everyone was happy. The children also had their own bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there was a living area a small kitchen and another toilet. So ample room. The only negative comments would be that it was all a little dated and a bit tired in some areas. The toilet in the en suite off the master bedroom was a couple of inches too high and was installed infront of a large mirror which was a bit weird and felt as though you really were sitting on a throne! The beds were quite hard and we were aching a bit at the end of the week! Our apartment was in the El Boustain area which was set round the smaller outdoor pool which was a very nice setting.

We opted to pay for breakfast everyday as at 28 dinar (£15) for all five of us it was a no brainier. Omelettes, crepes and some Tunisian specialities cooked to order. Fresh fruit, jams, yoghurt, cheeses, meats and much more on offer, something for everyone. We also had dinner in the hotel one night and much the same, lots and lots of choice. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant is very hot, they could do with having windows open, in summer it must be like a furnace. Staff all very amenable nothing too much trouble.

Wifi in the hotel was very expensive 10 dinar (£5) per hour if you use your own laptop, half that if you use the hotels own computers.

Decor and furnishings throughout the hotel ate a bit tired although very clean everywhere. The room where nightly entertainment took place was most odd, like a conference room in the middle of a fake woodland, most weird, hot and stuffy. All the shows were dated and just a bit lacklustre, I felt a bit sorry for the actors as it was all just a bit tired and past it and a bit cheesy for want of a better expression. Didn't have much to do with the animation team, avoided them as much as possible as reading other trip advisor reviews they quite clearly have been pressuring people into praising them. I have to say I actually didn't see them too much.

The hotel has a lovely indoor pool kept at an "easy to get in" temperature, very clean.

The souk is what it is, one of the more hassle free souks I've been too. Pleanty of choice for places to eat and drink within the medina walls. Aqualand was closed, Carthageland appeared to be expensive for what it was, although to be fair we didnt bother to go in.

Beach was great, nice to have the use of free sunbeds. Fruit sellers come along and put a chameleon or tortoise in your lap as a conversation starter but a firm no sees them on their way. Lots of huge hotels line the shore most of them empty, the whole resort is looking a bit unloved, but the Tunisians have had a pretty bad year as far as tourism goes. I hope the tunisians have a better year next year, although not the one who stole out of my luggage at Enfidah airport, that was the only thing that marred my trip. I probably won't stay at this hotel again as I've "been there, done that", but I would like to return to Tunisia a some time as there are some amazing things to see, not least the desert, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and an almost complete roman amphitheatre.
