“Fantastic holiday.....this hotel is a gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2011

We recently stayed at the Hotel Diar Lemdina for a week in April. Given the time of year, it was nice and quiet and that's exactly what we were looking for. The hotel was lovely and very clean. And the staff were just amazing! Some of the friendliest people we have met! The animation team were fantastic, especially Sousou and Freddie! This makes it an ideal hotel for families with kids during the busier summer months.
We had booked a suite and when we arrived the porter took us around to a room right opposite the pool. When he opened the door we were amazed, we had 2 floors! We had a living area downstairs with a kitchen and bathroom, then a huge bedroom and another bathroom upstairs! It's definitely worth the little bit extra for a room like this! The cleaner came in everyday to change the sheets and provide fresh towels. The only minor issue we found was that the cleaners were quite load cleaning around the pool area about 7am everyday. Other than that it was perfect!
We went all inclusive and so were not expecting the food to be great, but it actually was very nice. There is so much to choose from and the chefs are always happy to prepare something fresh for you.
The hotel is actually part of a complex called the Medina. There are loads of shops, restaurants and other attractions within the complex. Be prepared to get hassled from the market traders as they will do everything to get you in their shops! Imitation handbags and purses are what they mainly stock. They really are superb copies and are so cheap to buy. My girlfriend bought 8 to take home with us! A tip though, go one of the proper shops outside the market if you want to buy these things as you will find they are half the price and no one hassles you to buy anything!
The weather wasn't the best, we only had a couple of days of sun but we still enjoyed our stay as the hotel was so nice. We are going to go back later in the summer (so my girlfriend can buy more handbags!) and we will definitely stay at this hotel again. Sousou and Freddie - looking forward to seeing you again!

We stayed at Hotel Diar Lemdina from april 2 till april 9.
Had a great time. Very friendy people, spotless room and great service.
And.... wonderful weather.
Just 4 european families/couples. Looks like europeans are think that there might be problems due to the revolution. However we've experienced only very friendly people and no trouble at all.
Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!

we had a fab time there the staff very friendly the hotel was spotless, just one problem my children were the only english children in the hotel, they had the pool to them selves , Every friday to sunday the hotel was full with tunisians with the cheap price weekend breaks. it made us feel very insecure, the dinning room was so full you had to wait for your table. The beach was not open no sunloungers no bech bar, sit on your beach towels gettin a sore back, but the sunny weather made up for that. We would go back to tunisia but try another hotel, My children loved that hotel an want to go back there.

Room Tip: the people are so friendly,

me and 2 of my friends had a faboulas time at the hotel. Although we went their in June 2010 for a week. The hotel was massive with all the amneties you can ask for. The shoppers can pesture you alot but hey just joke around and act friendly just get along with them and they will leave you alone. The hotel was 5 mins away from the beach which was lovely and alot of activity to do. Dissapointed with the amusement park which was shut and getting ready for the summer peak season which initaly starts 1 week after when we come back. But overall we we happy as we went B&B and tried all the restaurants within the hotel. I would definately go again if have a chance, but not for some time though... And another word of advise do not book any excursion outside the hotels approval you will get ripped off and cannot do anything about it as you will be told before hand by the guys who you have bought the excursions from....

Honestly do not know where to start... The hotel was fabulous almost unreal, the people were very freindly and welcoming, the food was great! buffet breakfast was very good fresh omelets with whatever you wanted with it and other food to chose from... supper buffet was good too, restrants around the hotel and markets... indoor and outdoor swimming pool, spars childcare, theme park next door, shows in the evening(called animation),camel rides, horse rides, beach not to far away, and much much more! also nice and hot in the days and cool in the evenings... best holiday ever!!!!

tip: do not go to the outdoor pool first thing in the morning (too cold, go in the afternoon when warmed up)

my boyfriend and i are honest decent people and just wanted a nice relaxing xmas new year break.it was full of french and algerians, and we were the only english people i could see.we stood out like sore thumbs.we were the people who dressed up in the evening, everyone else sat there with jeans, coats and scarfes on.we were made to feel unwanted and uncomfortable, both by the french, algerians, bar staff and resteraunt staff.unfortunately we were all inclusive,we felt so uncomfortable for 2 nights we went to an english bar called the view and paid £8 for 2 drinks, but we didnt care, anything to get away from that awful hotel.on the 3rd day, hoorrayy,an english couple arrived who were brilliant,hi annette, pete, sam and chelsea.we started to enjoy the holiday more.the 4th day everyone but the english went home, hoorrayy, bar staff and resteraunt staff still miserable, even tho we tipped them.got hassled constantly by traders, most were very aggressive,i was called a prostitute a couple of times and my boyfriend a plastic spaz,we were called a lot more, but i wouldnt be able to print them, they were so foul and disgusting, our crime, just saying no thank you to not going in their shops where you have to haggle and pressured to buy.we found a fantastic place to eat called the steakhouse, fantastic food,at last better than the muck served at the hotel, and our waiters there treated us with respect, unlike the staff at the hotel.the last night all the staff tried to be nice to us,saying you go home tomorrow my friends, what a load of false creeps, after a massive tip,no chance.the maid who cleaned our room was lovely and we gave her 20 diners,bout£10 on new years day and she was overjoyed.we found 2 fixed price supermarkets where we bought some nice prezzies for family at home.our room was cleaned everyday, with clean towels and was spotless.the front of the hotel looked like a castle, really impressive, but once inside it went downhill.they ran out of all inclusive vodka 3 nights out of 7,but told us we could pay £3.50 for a drink of absolute vodka.we drank ammeretto instead, what a con.its the worse holiday iv ever had.dont waste your money.,go somewhere else.

We had a time share swap to a unit at Diar Lemdina, which is not easy to find in Yasmine Hammamet. We were there in November so there weren't many tourists in the hotel nor in the resort. We were fortunate that the weather was pretty good and we were using it as a base to make excursions and not to lie on the beach. We were supposed to be there 6 nights but due to flight delays, ended up there 5 nights. We were given a nice 2 bedroom unit, which was nice (the kitchen was very small with no oven). All rooms face out to the pool, which is nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the first 4 nights they had offered loud entertainment until 11 pm (or later one night) and then we were woken up multiple times by people returning to their units singing or yelling at midnight, 1 pm, 2 pm or whenever they returned from whereever they were. I don't know what it would be like in high season for people who want to rest. We called to complain several eveings and that helped with the entertainment volume. Before retiring the last evening we spoke with the front desk manager and listened as he admonished the occupants of one room about the noise - that was effective and we slept through fortunately. We partook of the breakfast buffet in the restaurant the first morning - it was reasonable but we preferred to have breakfast in the unit after that. In short, a nice facility with nice people, but we would not return due to the noise.
