“Good Food and nice rooms”

The hotel is a family hotel. The only slight issue I had was the "touts" who latch onto you as soon as you arrive, trying to get you to commit to excursions. Having said that, we took the camel ride and it was worth the money. Our rep also had excursions to flog and the 2 day Sahara Adventure was worth it. There are 2 options for it, though, and we took the trip to the Star Wars set. Make sure you get the one you want. There's a lot of travelling by bus as well. The hotel offered a good selection of food - not something offered elsewhere, so we were told by other holiday-makers, and there was a good cocktail waiter who could mix the drinks well. It pays to tip a little at the start - a Dinar or two, and then leave a bigger tip at the end for those who have helped. As this was our first ever package we were unsure, but it all worked out well. We also went to the masseur in the Medina, rather than the hotel's thallasso. It was so much cheaper, and the masseur also does chiropracty - the masseuse gives a good massage, and if you take the 45D package you also get to use the swimming pool for free. The room was clean and tidy, warm and with a good view from our balcony. We tipped the maid, as she obviously takes pride in her work, ensuring we always had clean towels and making the bed with a slightly different flourish each day.

Room Tip: We were given a twin room at first, but a quick trip to the reception garnered us a double room with...

We would like to thank you very much for your encouraging comments on our hotel and staff. It is always great to receive positive feedback on numerous aspects of the hotel services and installations.

I liked so much the hotel. The service is really very good. The food is delicious and there is a variety. The rooms are really relaxing. The pool in winter is so nice with the sea water !! The gym activities are really so nice. The night activies too are really amazing. The sea is near the hotel so it takes you five mintues to be at the lovely beach of hammamet. I really advice familes to get in the hotel

Room Tip: the best rooms are the ones which look at the pool but be far a little bit from the room near the el...

we arrived on 16th.Dec.only to find the hotel was full to capacity with Tunisian families, they are so rude, they are greedy and very wasteful where food is concerned. some days the restaurant looked more like a refugee camp, there was no dress code....some wearing coats and hats whilst they were eating. As for entertainment which was supposed to be day and evening just didnt happen, that was until my partner complained to the manager then after five days things became better for the children..The only person to make any effort was Rickardo. The hotel is of good standard clean and comfortable and most staff were helful, but i really do think this hotel should not allow British people to holiday there when its Tunisian holiday season. Also i am sure if Health and Safety saw how overcrowded the hotel was then they would close it down i think there must have been 4/6 to a bed. will not return.

Dear family,

Although we feel very sad to read that your stay was not as enjoyable as it could have been, we would like to thank you for sharing your observations with us because this gives us the opportunity to make improvements and thus offer all our guests a better service, which ultimately is the goal of Iberostar.

First of all, we would like to point out that we empathize with you and we understand your preference for a more tranquil accommodation. Nevertheless it is our target to offer all our guests a splendid and amusing holiday and therefore we try to combine lively attractions for the action seekers with a well-organized distribution in facilities and time tables to ensure that the guests wanting to relax can avoid overpopulation due to rush hours.

In addition, we would like to apologies that you perceived the mealtimes less relaxing than you expected, we do our best to offer quality cuisine in an unsurpassed setting. As we speak, our responsible chef and maître are revising the procedures to ensure that our demanding quality standards are encountered.

On the other hand, we are grateful and satisfied that you described the hotel as lovely with welcoming staff. In our opinion, the human forces in Iberostar are one of the most important pillars to build a hotel that offers wellbeing, comfort and splendid holiday conditions. Therefor we are delighted you enjoyed this part so much!

Finally, we thank you again for taking the time and effort to write your opinion on your recent stay in Tripadvisor. Your review helps us to know how we can still improve the experience of our guests, and to us that is what it is all about.

Just returned from a one week stay in Iberostar Belisaire and I must say that I really enjoyed my stay. Whilst all the staff deserve praise for there commitment to make our holiday a success I have to raise my hat to the dining room staff who made eating in the restuarant a real pleasure. From the moment we arrived we was treated like royalty. They were most attentive and polite. In the dining room and bar, as soon as your glass was empty staff politely asked if you would like a refill. There was a good selection of dishes to choose from. Remember you are going to Tunisia so for some the choices (after a week ) may become repetetive but ( as a Chef myself) I found plenty to choose from. Swimming pool and surrounds nice. Pool a bit chilly but it is late October and once in the pool it was ok.
A word of warning, something hat should have been brought up at the Reps meeting, once outside the complex do not fall for the trick when somebody comes up to you all friendly like and tells you he works as a Chef in your hotel and then commences to guide you to a shop. Turn your hotel band over before you go out so that nobody can see where your staying. If that fails become deaf and blind and just keep walking. Do not acknowlege in any way.
Haggling what they ask for bring them down by 2/3rds or more. If they want a sale then they will comply to your deal.
Outings. We went on the African Dream trip. Nice, entertainment good but to be truthful the food was poor. My wife liked it. Then of course its tips. We also went on the Sahara trip. We spent a lot of time on the coach but it was worth it to see the sites and get some idea as to what Tunisia is all about. On the trip sheet that the Rep will give you it says take some loose change. No take loads of loose change. From start to finish its tip time.. Last of all if you go on the Sahara trip check what times you have to get up. Nice to see sunrise in the Sahara but getting up at 4.15am to a poor breakfast and after a poor evening meal and hours of coach travel and little sleep. Whats n a sunrise when your cold and half asleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the swmming pool

Have just returned from a weeks stay in this hotel (21/11/2012 - 28/11/2012). The hotel and rooms were very clean and we had no issues at all. We were warned of potential stomach problems in Tunisia as a whole if we drank local water or anything associated with it - washed salad, Ice in drinks etc. Didn't meet or see anybody with problems, had ice in my drinks, ate a lot of salad, stayed with bottled water to drink and clean teeth etc

The staff were extremely friendly and worked hard for they wages. Surprised to see any staff on our last morning in the hotel as once the staff know that you are leaving tomorrow they tend to impress on you that they too will not be in the hotel to see you off. Just looking to ensure a tip from you.

The food in the buffet style restaurant was first class and there was always something even for fussy eaters, although I would eat earlier rather than later during the set opening times as the food is cleared away very promptly once the restaurant closing times are passed.
The waiters in the restaurant were attentive and were wanting you to sit in their area of the restaurant each time, placing drinks for you almost before you had time to sit.

Smoking was prevalent throughout the hotels bars, which as my wife and I are non-smokers found difficult. We choose to use the quiet bar, where the lack of staff meant that you were chasing around for a bar-man each time you wanted a drink. Smoking was not allowed within the restaurant, thankfully. Sprit drinks were of the local variety and varied in quality, although you could pay a little more for branded. The beer was cold and refresing.
House wine was dreadfull, but pay about an extra £4 and you can get a pretty good bottle of white.
The hotel offers an Asian theme evening meal - it was ok, but probably the poorest meal of our stay - it is a Tunisian take on Chinese cuisine.

The pools were reported as very cold, didn't use them prefering the sea. But lying by the pools was spoilt by the quantity of flies crawling over you. The beach by comparism, despite the camel poo was fly free. Lots of litter around but that is just the way it is in Tunisia. We were approached by traders and some people with camels - tell them "no money" or "no cameras" and they quickly loose interest. Don't just sit on a camel for a photo because before you know it the beast is on it's feet and you are taken for a ride - quite literally.

The room was clean and practicle, we had a nice balcony which faced south overlooking the quiet pool - definatly the area to request if you want some sunshine. The rooms oppersite received no sunshine at all - so room tip - high as possible (4 floors) and a high odd-numbered room.
This hotel is a good walk from the marina and you will be approached many times on your walk there but a firm "maybe later" usually works. Stick to the fix price shops unless you like to haggle. Overall a good weeks break, enjoyed by my wife and I. Not sure that we could hace stayed for two weeks as it was such a way out of the main Hammemet area., but I suppose we could use a taxi.

Room Tip: high as possible (4 floors) and a high odd-numbered room. We had room 245 on the 2nd floor sunshine...

Dear Andrew,

We would like to thank you for having so carefully explained your experience. Your opinion is highly valuable and helps us improve our services. It is always our goal to accomplish maximum customer satisfaction and the best way to achieve this is taking in consideration the opinion of our guests.

Please receive our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by the infestation of flies. We do our utmost to prevent this and usually we can. Nevertheless, sometimes due to the huge gardens, the green areas and the climatology there is a punctual invasion. As soon as this is ascertained we initiate the procedures to deal with the circumstances and solvent the inconvenience.

Last but not least, we want to thank you for letting us know that the cleanliness and comfort of our installations, the bar staff and waiters, the culinary experience and the service orientation of our employees were pleasant parts of your stay. This surely motivates us during our day by day labors as your enjoying is our target.

Once again we would like to thank you for your feedback which gives us the opportunity to make improvements and thus offer all our guests an even better service, which ultimately is the goal of Iberostar. We hope you will have an opportunity to return and enjoy our Iberostar Belisaire again in the future.

All the best,

Stayed here for one week at start of Novenber 2012, what a choice of hotel!
Hotel was great, spotlessly clean and well designed.
Pool areas (2) excellant, plenty of sun beds and umbrellas.
Food was excellant with plenty of choice.
Drink (alcohol) not best quality but plenty of it if you're not too fussy.
Service fantastic. Waiters/staff can't do enough for you and really made our holiday.
Will definately stay there again and recommend to everyone.
Well worth the price and well worth the visit.
