The staff were really friendly and were always happy to help, and even got a cake for my birthday! Hotel and room were kept very clean. Food was very nice and there was always lots of choice, and they were more than happy to accomodate any allergies. Evening entertainment was good both in the hotel and on trips outside. Spa was amazing, staff in there were really friendly and prices were good. Although it was a bit too cold to use the outside pool, it was clean and looked like in warmer weather would be really enjoyable. Inside pool was heated and amazing to swim in. Free wifi in the lobby and a currency exchange service, although nearest cash point was down the road. There is a charge for using the cash point which wasnt specified so didnt know until our travel rep told us.

Room Tip: we had a pool view its nice but we visit a sea view room and we like it too

A little tired looking but very clean.Staff excellent from reception to restaurant. We arrived late,10.30 at night but because we had booked half board, reception sent plates of food to room without our requesting it.1st time that has happened to us in Tunisia and we have stayed in about twenty hotels here.
Room excellent, shower really strong and hot.
Breakfast lots of choices, omelettes, crepes, fresh fruit, yogurts, only thing I would like was proper fruit juice as they use the powdered kind but that was personal choice.
Free wi-fi in lobby which again was very pleasant and staff very good.
Similar to majority of hotels here not on beach but the hotel has private portion of beach just across the road.
Nice looking pools although we did not use as only spending the night.
Would stay again.

Room Tip: Our room was on fourth floor facing the pool and was fine.Nice size with fridge which is important in the summer.

By now if your reading tripadvisor reviews you have probably already discovered this is not a 5 star hotel. 4 Star at best. If you want a holiday to sit by the pool have every meal payed for, have a nice beach close by then this is defiantly the place for you. The pool is great, although aging a little and the beach has crystal clear waters which is quite stunning. We had a suite, which was more like a really big room than anything extra special it was clean although unspectacular.

We had half board so Breakfast and Dinner was included. This was more than enough for us the breakfast was good nice cakes a wide array of fruit and normal breakfast options. The dinner was repetitive and pretty much the same every night. With left overs being served for breakfast or again the next night. We paid for one lunch and when we realised it was the same as the dinner we just found places along the beach to eat at and the British Pub just to the right of the entrance.

The drinks where relatively inexpensive, the cocktails incredibly sweet and although the cocktail list has a wide range most tasted the same and my wife found them difficult to drink due to the sweetness. We actually drank most evenings at the British pub out the entrance and about 200m right of the Sapphir palace the beer was cheaper and you got a pint instead of a mid sized beer. The pub is nothing special but a change of scenery from the Sapphir Palace.

The Spa, was really nice, my wife was impressed by the facilities and the prices. She used the spa at the hotel and another down the road, the downside of the hotel spa is that a gentleman lurks around the hotel trying to convince you to use it and once you show interest he is only interested in selling you packages my wife only wanted one or two different treatments and it took her quite some time to convince the salesman she only wanted those treatments. The upside is she said they did a great job. The spa out the front door and to the left about 500m was cheaper but they didn't do as good a job.

If you come to Hammamet after a little adventure and would like to see a bit of the countryside I'd probably advise to stay in an area that isn't as solely built for tourists as Yasmine Hammamet. We tried to organise a tour through Lofti he was going to charge us 200€ of course this was his best price. We decided to look around a bit there is a few tour company's along the road the Saphir Palace is on. In the end we asked at the front desk again, another gentleman was working by this stage, he charged us 80€. I don't have many nice things to say about Lofti after that experience. Do your research for tours and decide what's a reasonable price before you book.

At the end of the day this is a huge hotel owned by a company who specialises in cheap package holidays. They provide a service and I don't think they are really interested in improving it for the customer. If you like package holidays by all means this is the place for you. If you come to a country like Tunisia after a little adventure and to experience a different culture and different food do some research pick an area of Tunisia that will give you what your after and don't make the same mistake as we did and book at the Saphir Palace, Tunisia is a beautiful country and there is more to it than big hotels trying to make as much money out of you as possible and nice beaches.

Dear Guest,

As to us the vision of our clients is the key to complete guest-satisfaction, we are very grateful for the time and effort you spent writing this review on your stay at our IBEROSTAR Saphir Palace hotel. We are fully aware that this is the best way to achieve superiority and excellence in our daily services.

We read your review with our utmost attention and are sorry to hear that there must have been a misunderstanding with our reception staff when enquiring about the excursion prices; the price given by our receptionist Lotfi was in Tunisian Dinars, in fact 200 TND are the equivalent of 88 Euros.

Moreover, we took good note of your comment related to our cocktails and passed it to our head of department and lament not being informed about your dissatisfaction immediately as our bartender could have made the cocktail to your wife’s liking, for future occasions please do not hesitate to express your wishes for us to be able to satisfy them fully.

Related to our restaurant we sincerely regret reading that it didn’t exceed your expectations as we lay high value on our guests being able to savor the best of the local cuisine as well as many international delights on a daily basis; we work with a 2 weeks menu rotation in order to guarantee different flavors at every single meal; we also took good note of your comment on left overs being served at breakfast and can only assume that you refer to the vegetables; we want to reassure you on the fact that we do not serve left overs in our buffets, however, having an international clientele we guarantee a selection of freshly cooked vegetables at breakfast as well as sweet and salty, cooked and cold options in order to please all palates.; we are glad to read your satisfaction with the home made cakes and wide selection of fresh fruit.

Furthermore, we are happy to read that your wife enjoyed our Spa treatments and that you appreciated the beauty, comfort and cleanliness of our accommodations and overall installations.

Once again thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate all of your comments as they can help us to improve. We hope to see you again in the near future and to have the opportunity to offer you a very enjoyable experience with IBEROSTAR.
