Saphir Palace has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Beautiful hotel at a fantastic location, huge comfortable rooms with excellent room service. The staff have the best customer service I have experienced in Tunisia. Very attentive and always willing to meet your expectations and needs. Although the staff speak mostly Arabic and French, most were trying their best to speak a bit of English. The receptionists were not very knowledgeable on the local transport and attractions.
The food was great, lots to choose from, waiters were very friendly. the only downside was there was not much fruit to choose from which is surprising to find in a North African country.
Wifi was available in the lobby area free of charge, although it was slow at times.
I would defiently reccommend this hotel and in my view is the best looking hotel in the resort.

I stayed in this Hotel for Christmas and New Year with my partner. The hotel itself is really lovely and looks impressive when you walk into the reception lobby. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allocated a sea view room with twin beds and a lovely marble bathroom with double shower and a bath which was lovely and he views were amazing. The water in the hotel is disgusting and tasted awful and smelt horrendous and left an unpleasent smell on you and this lasted the whole week. They do say it has a very high mineral content and not to drink or swallow. The food in the hotel was not too good and was pretty bland and there wasnt much choice each night and was very repetitive. The hotel is in a nice location and within walking distance of shops and restaurants etc and also a lovely marina etc. All the shopkeepers pester you to enter their shops and are very annoying. All in all an ok holiday but we wouldnt choose to return.

Just returned back from wonderful & unforgettable holiday in Iberostar Safir Palace. first time to go to Tunis and i was very careful when i booked this hotel after reading some reviews on trip advisor for this hotel and others like Vincci, Iberostar Solaria and more other properties.
Trust me, this is one from the best hotels in Hammamet, style of the hotel is nice, staff are very friendly, quality of the food is nice. daily varities in the dinner buffet. have stayed in Junior Suite which was very calm, huge, luxury and staying for 4 nights in the hotel really it gives me the challenge to forget the daily work rythm. hotel also have out door pool and in douur heated pool in addition to the GYM and some shops arround. WIFI also was available in the lobby free of charge.
Hammamet is very luxury and calm destination but i would recomend other travellers to go there specially during the summer season in order to enjoy the beach. Iberostar Safir have a very nice and clean beach, but take care as some from other hotels which are overlooking to the same beack (close to the marina) can not swim in as their beack is very unclean and you can never stay or swim there as also it smell badly. me i didnt enjoyed the beach as the weather was cold, but i enjoyd mainly swiming in the indoor heated pool. by the way to reach the marina from the hotel is almost 10 mn walking and not far.
Front office, house keeping, food & beverages, waiters staff were very friendly and really need to serve us with their maximum in order to make our stay comfortable.
I hope also that you can enjoy your holiday and my email is aemam74@yahoo.com for any further assistance or advise.
best regards

My wife and I stayed at a double room with a seaside view in Iberostar Saphir Palace in the end of September 2010. The room was quite big and looked fantastic with its marble floor, there is a free safe deposit box in the room (something not typical for Tunisia), the bed was extremely cozy, the morning view at the nearby beach and the Mediterranean sea is something that we will remember for a long time. The bathroom was entirely made of marble and looked more like a spa than a hotel bathroom! What we didn't like regarding the room were two things - the iron chairs on the balcony have been rusty and could damage your clothes; the other thing was that you can hear evetything on the street even with your windows closed. In general this 4-storey hotel with more than 220 rooms and above average pricing is very clean and having all the amenities you might need for your leisure time - great outdoor swimming pool, heated inside swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, piano bar with live music in the lobby, etc. It is situated in the modern Yasmine Hammamet. not faraway from the local Medina and is separated by the sea beach by just one street - the so called 7th November Blvd. The staff is quite helpful and friendly (with some exceptions in the restaurant) especially if you give them a small tip, but this is something so typical for Tunisia in general. The restaurant looks great, but I do think that they could offer food with much better quality. The other thing that we dislike (although it's not such a big problem) is that you have to cross the street in order to reach the sandy beach for tanning. I would recommend highly this hotel especially after being to other hotels in Hammamet and Tunisia in general!
