“Good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2011

We have spent a week in this hotel in August, with all inclusive package.

Rooms
The room was quite big, with TV, A/C and safe deposit box. It was cleaned and the towels were changed daily.
The only problem was that it was overlooking the Medina, so we could hear very loud music each night until 3 a.m. Therefore, if you are not going to party until dawn, I would recommend to ask for the room that has view to sea or pool.

Food & Drink
The food in general was good, with wide choice of dishes and fast food restaurant open until 2 a.m.
You can get any sort of drinks at the lobby bar (soft drinks, beer (which is actually ok), wine, cocktails, etc.) until midnight. Be prepared that sometimes it is quite crowded in the evening so you might wait a little bit longer to get the drink.
I would recommend to sit at the table by the pool and give good tip to waiter, you'll get the drinks much faster.

Beach & Pool
Since at the time we were staying, there was a lot of seagrass in the sea, we spend most of the time at the pool. The pools are clean, although you have to get there early if you want to get the sun lounger. Also, you have the waiter service or you can go into lobby bar for a drink. Beach bar serves only soft drinks and coffee.

I was surprised to see a lot of people in hotel lobby on first evening, but then I realized there really isn't much to do. There is some program organized by the animation team every evening, but except one show with fakirs it can be skipped. You can take a walk to Medina, or to nearby shops, however be prepared to be constantly bothered by salesmen.
There is a "Wine bar" at the hotel, but apart from one pool table and few empty bottles wine, you can't find anything else there :)

So, I recommend this hotel in case you like to enjoy in swimming, food & drink during the day and don't feel like partying whole night.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms that have view to Medina as it is quite loud during the night.

This is a lovely hotel, with clean, spacious rooms, ours was overlooking the sae, but completely spoiled by bad management. The food is appalling, I lost 4kg during the week I was there, and the beach attendant is arrogant and rude.
Having said all this, the hotel is centrally situated, with easy walking distance of the marina and the medina.
When we visited Jasmine Hammamet three years ago, it was a bustling, thriving resort. Not so today. Everywhere you go is 'dead' with restaurants and shops boarded up. Chatting to the storekeepers, the general consensus is that now the visitors are mostly from Eastern Europe and have All Inclusive hotel tarrifs, they tend not to venture out.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea facing room as the pool facing ones must be noisy during the day and night, when th...

This is the most important info I can give you if travelling to Tunisia. You MUST change your dinars back to euro/pounds etc... before you go through check in on your return flight! We missed our meeting with our travel company "sunshine beach holidays", since we got to the hotel about 3/4am and she said the meeting was 9am the next morning. Hello as if we are all going to get up in 5 hours! So we missed this important information and at no point did anyone, even at the airport tell us about this. You cannot spend Tunisian Dinar in the duty free area at their airports! We had a horrid experience as we passed through customs then were told of this in the duty free area, the tour operator rep could have mentioned this important info on the coach when we were going to our hotel or on the transfer back. But no they didn't. just a quick hello and then sat down! So we had to ask to go back through customs to change our money back and they were being very awkward. They were going to take nearly 100 dinars from us! I asked for management and then he finally agreed we could go back and change our money and then he asked for 20 dinars!!! In the end I gave him 10. Corrupt officials there so be aware. Left a nasty taste in my mouth after a quite good holiday and it was a shame.

Well back to the hotel, in brief and this is accurate having travelled to tunisia before. Decent hotel, food repetitive and not great, service rubbish and staff often rude (however you talk to them nicely most will be nice back). Room good cleaning staff good. Animation team hopeless (nothing for adults). Gym not included in all inclusive. We stayed in Iberostar Bellasaire a few years ago (in Yasmine Hammemet aswell (you dont wanna stay in Hammemet completely different area run down!)) and this hotel rated a 4 star and was brilliant. Everything was good! Pay a little bit extra and go there.
Elmouradi el menzah is a 3 star hotel due to the poor service, food and animation. The actual hotel facilities are good. If the management got their fingers out ther a... this could be a good hotel! But unfortunately it isn't

If your looking for a great hotel base with excellent service look no further. This hotel will meet all of ur expectations and more. The animation team are brilliant especially Willy and Gabi who always has time for kids and adults alike, just make sure you push willy and gabi in the pool everyday, they enjoy it really. The food is great always enough choice for all and make sure you tip the waiters, they don't earn much but work so hard to keep you in 5 star service.

Best part of out 10 night stay has to be the animation team, they are on site from 7am til midnight and give everything despite being obviously tired and partaking in Ramadan

Book this hotel you will not regret it!!!!!

Ok, was here for 1 month, cheap and cheerful, lovely room opposite the beach with mini bar replenished with water and fizzy drink, even if you havent used the last one. Me and my daughter loved everything apart from the disgusting restaurants and the lack of training of waiters. Managers walked past uncleared tables while waiters were either ogling young girls (what a nerve they have - who do they think they are! Managers sort this one out), or lack of them meant they were abused by guests and 1 was suspended for 3 days without pay and he was one of the best waiters, bilel, always a clean shirt and noticing when people needed a table, without asking for a tip! It was a complete nightmare. No wonder they have 'hygienists' who take samples of the food every meal time for analysis. Yes, it was busy with a tunisian 2 week holiday so hotel full of people pushing shoving, not queueing, greedy people, in fact many hotel staff hated these people. Snack bar, oh dear, no one knows what they are doing, plastic tables not wiped, you have to ask, orders placed but given to wrong people. The whole restaurant needs managing properly, then it will be fine!

Animation team are great, gaby, miro, fredy, tito, hamza, willie, tottie try to involve you, but what a shame that the programme is only 1 week and the animation show which is excellent is only on Friday, the rest of the time is miss hotel, couple of outside shows and the animation have such talent, but its all about the chief and his show who appears every night.

We enjoyed our month here absolutely, but the restaurants were poorly managed and unclean which is a real shame.

Reception staff were fantastic especially Mouhammed, the man who said he was dead (its a joke) and the lovely lady manager. Thank you very much.

I would also like to mention Sue from Sunshine holidays whose expertise and advice proved to be one of the best reps, and we werent even with her company.

Will we go back.....No way!

Room Tip: speak to reception, they are so helpful
