“Good for a cultural part of Old Hammamet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

Took a half day tour of this and it was about what I'd expect you either like a bit of history and culture or you don't and with a tour guide organised by a tour operator this was good in the main . I would recommend taking a tour round and most of all the excellent views of the old city and out to sea . Has a lovely little souvenir shop selling locally painted souvenirs which are at a fixed price . Look out for the brave of you on the outside the local market if you can fend off the haggling locals.
In a nut shell worth a look and good access

A tip you are asked to pay 1 dinar took take pictures in the old fort which is well worth it I would say was well worth it ( just pay on entry )

Do not visit the medina unless you want to feel totally uncomfortable and intimidated! Horrible experience!

You get hassled as soon as you get out of taxi, saying they were your waiter from your Hotel, you cannot browse, they are in your face all the time, got scared at one point, will not go back at all

“Still as nice as ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

After a dozen trips to Tunisia the old medina still has a good feel to it. Of course there is the usual attempts by all the shopkeepers to lure you into their shops but so what. Lots of inviting alleyways and those delightful Tunisian doors. Loads of photo opportunities + check out the new museum (well sign posted) Very tastefully done...A great addition.

“Couldn't leave fast enough”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

My partner and I fancied a walk from our hotel and decided to visit the medina. As we approached up the beach we had stall owners and taxi drivers come to us offering us all sorts... we just wanted to have a look around but were hassled to look and go into shops. I was even grabbed and pushed into a few. The medina was a series of narrow passages and believe me we would have left sooner if we could have found our way out. Unfortunately the locals ruined what could have been a lovely, cultural trip.
