“Lovely clean hotel and lovely beach”
Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

we arrived 1st may 2013, myself and my 2 children aged 2 and 10. It was the first day of the hotel opening and for the first 4 days was very quite. After requesting a ground floor room we arrived to a 1st floor room which was quickly changed to a ground floor room. We were in manar 2. The hotel is split into 2 buildings manar 1 and manar 2. Manar 1 is in the main building close to reception and resturant where manar 2 is down by the pools. Manar 2 has its own family bar in its lobby. We were given a room right by the pools. The terrace for the room is not enclosed and the terrace doors DONT lock which is dangerous if you have an active toddler that can open doors. On more than one occasion my 2yr old opened the door and ran towards the pool area. The front door does also lock from the inside. After stating this to the reps a chain was put on the terrace door. I feel this should be standard as 1st floor and above rooms have chains on the door to prevent children going
Out on the balcony and falling. I feel this is an accident waiting to happen. The rooms are not that big and you have to request tea and coffee making facilites. There is 2 shops in the hotel but not worth venturing out as there is nothing outside. The beach is lovely and there are people selling things on the beach but they are not allowed by security to venture up the beach and approach people. Dont buy lambert and butler cigarrettes off the seller. You cant buy these in tunisia therefore the ones they sell are fake and dangerous. The food is good. Plenty of choice. The pools are freezing but it didnt bother the kids. For me the daytime entertainment is a bit much, very noisey and a bit butlins abroad people being thrown in the pool on a regular basis and i can only imagine it being worse in high season. You can get bottles of water from any bar and also cartons of milk if required. The internet is free in the lobby bar so you can connect any device there. The staff are very helpful including the reps. The transfer is about an hour. The airport in tunisia is very quick to check in and easy but take a pen as you have to fill out forms when you arrive and go home. I think ive covered everything but dont hesitate to contact me for any other info.

My wife and I travelled to the holiday village manar on the 1st may 2013 with our 2 boys aged 1 and 3. We had a very easy check in, our room was a superior family with sea views and it was very spacious with a great view (Room 2419 in manar 2). The 3 year olds bed was a sofa bed in the living area but the front door lock wasn't childproof we felt so we weren't happy leaving him there on his own so we decided the best thing to do would be to move him into our room so I asked the porter to help me lift the bed into the bedroom when he came with the luggage, which he was more than happy to do.

Hotel itself is set in beautiful, well kept grounds right on a great sandy beach. All areas are kept clean, the pools have lifeguards, the beach has security too so it always feels safe.

There was always a pretty good standard of food in the buffet, plenty of choice and the drinks were waiter service. The staff are all so friendly and they all make the effort to say hello when you pass them and the staff in the main reception bar were great with the kids they even had a set of steps so the kids could order their own drinks, Anis was great he called our son Mr James which he loved.

The one downside we felt was the entertainment although the staff tried hard I would say it was aimed more for teenagers with lots of quizzes and game shows rather than the childrens shows that were entertaining for the little ones that we experienced last year at the holiday village viva in spain.

We paid to put our 3 year old in the swim academy with Chris and it gave him so much more confidence in the water he was a great trainer, they even give them a certificate at the end.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and will definitely look into rebooking again for next year.

PS the Jetskis are great fun!!!

Room Tip: Room 2419 has a great view over the beach

Just come back from a great week at Holiday Village Manar with my wife and two children (1 and 3 years). We were taken good care of by a large team of really friendly staff. Nice spaceous rooms with tea/ coffee making facilities and bath/ shower. The food was fine with a reasonable choice, however, the food between the various themed nights was difficult to differentiate. Both children loved the kids club and crèche (staffed by well trained and dedicated UK staff), while we managed a couple of sessions in the spa and out on the water sailing. The pools were a little cold, but then it was early May. Overall we felt it was good value for money and well suited to families.

There's plenty to do! It looks like it does in the brochure! The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Anis! The holiday reps are excellent! The food is excellent and cooked in front of you! Kids club is fantastic! Entertainment is a bit dull for adults but okay for the kids (at night time) I would consider coming bake next year!

We arrived on 1st May and were met by welcome dancers and staff. We were dealt with quickly and our luggage taken to our rooms. The kids entertainment and crew are brilliant, the restaurant food is fantastic and the staff very pleasant. With a choice of pool facilities and the beach you will be spoilt for choice. We are looking forward to the rest of our two week stay and would definitely come back again.

We stayed here for two weeks back in 2011 and absolutely loved it. Rooms were spacious and clean with amazing sea views, really very comfortable.
A great choice of activitieswhich was a hit with us and other guests including water sports, tennis lessons (which we took full advantage of), dance classes and the list goes on. Three great pools including an adults only for when you just want to relax and not worry about getting jumped on by kids when having a dip, to the slides in the middle when you're feeling like being more lively and then the main pool with activities all day.
The choice of food and service was of a very high standard as were the a la carte restaurants though the Asian was not our favourite - but loved the other two.
The gym was small and the only area I would say wasn't as of high a standard to other facilities but the range of other activities made up for it so you can burn off all the wonderful food and drinks.
We can also recommend the spa and treatments, having had massages, incredible professional and relaxing.
Staff across the resort were incredibly helpful and friendly, and a small tip to bar staff ensured larger beer glasses and that they are extra attentive.
The shows in the evening were great and then dancing in the lobby bar, really enjoyable.
We were so disappointed to head home once the time came.
