Came to Hammamet with my mother and sister as we had such a fantastic week in Sousse the year before.

This resort is very large - quite a few restaurant areas to choose from at lunch and two bars open during the daytime. One main restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Three pools in total, one tiny for the smaller children, one with a slide and the main pool with a bar that served smoothies. If you went in at the right time you had a lot of room. The pools aren't heated but were always very warm.

Situated right on the beach, we managed to do a few watersports and went for a swim a lot. Was always nice and well maintained.

Our room unfortunately had the entertainment area right outside the balcony from the hotel next door. Our air con wasn't the best and we couldnt keep the door open as the music kept us up every night until 11pm-midnight and a few nights until gone 2am. The hotel manager of Paradise Palace did make a public apology one evening to all the guests for the noise from the neighbouring hotel. After this, the hotel next door was a little quieter. The room was too small for 3 adults - one double bed and a single and not a lot of room to move around the room.

Our hotel had evening entertainment every night on the outside stage. Great for the kids.
A large shopping area by the front of the hotel with a very large selection of gifts, accessories etc. Also some very nice perfumes! I wish they sold the one I purchased in England. We did also walk outside to local shops but most things you could find in the resorts store.

At all meal times it was mayhem - the chefs worked so hard but the layout isn't right.
The lunch area is split in two with a wide path through the middle leading to the beach.
You had a selection of different meals on each side and the bar in a different area. Trying to walk from one side to the other had no routine and people running everywhere.

Same with at dinner. The food areas are round the edges in like a zig-zag form. There was no queuing, a small area to get around the tables to the food and too many children unattended sticking their fingers in every mousse or creamy dessert!! Not very good selection if you are vegetarian/vegan. Everything basically had meat inside it - even if it said vegetable pasta sauce or vegetables and rice stuffed peppers. If you do need help finding something, speak to the big head chef! He was lovely, very friendly.

Don't get me wrong, I like attention or a nice compliment like everybody however the staff at lunch, but mostly dinner would not leave us alone. You would either get ignored and not being offered a drink (there wasn't a way of getting a drink yourself) or basically harassed. Constantly nice compliments and gestures such as flowers and this became more infuriating by the day. It went past the point of being polite.
We wanted to spend time as a family together and this was interrupted every 5 minutes.
If it wasn't 'I want to take you on a date', 'you're very beautiful' etc. 'It was 'sit at my table', 'why are you not sitting where I'm working', 'why are you talking to other staff'.

Each day we had to sit somewhere new and try to avoid the staff who were making the comments, and each time we met a new server making the same comments. They even started getting moody with us! One evening at the beach we were approached but a staff member off shift who kept asking us for our social media accounts and contact numbers. After saying no numerous times we just had to walk away. In the end we all said we were married or in a relationship. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves.

Unfortunately this completely ruined our holiday, and even destroyed our memories of our holiday the year before. It was the constant comments and moodiness that we all received. For these reasons we wouldn't return.

The hotel itself however was a good size and always very clean. Definitely more for families with young-mid children. The cleaning staff done a great job and should be commended. We said hello, thank you and smiled a lot to them and it seemed they hardly ever get spoken to by guests. We asked a chef how he was doing one evening and he replied with 'nobody has ever asked me that before'. This was very sad to realise.

We booked one of the bungalows at this hotel with a double bed as we didn’t want to be in the main hotel.

On arriving at the hotel we were asked by the receptionist if we want a double bed which we answered yes. We were shown to room 115 which had twin beds. We called reception from the room and she said that she would get somebody to come and get our bags and move us to another room. After sometime I had to go back down to reception to remind her and was told that somebody would be with us shortly. Again after a long wait, we locked up the room and took our suitcases back down to reception.

We were showed to a room in the main hotel. The room was excellent. However that night we were kept awake until 2am by the disco bar below. The disco bar should not be below rooms where guests are sleeping.

The following morning we spoke to the TUI rep and got moved to a double bed bungalow which is what we booked. The room was adequate. Not sure if having the bath raised up in the room is health and safety. You have to be very careful getting out and in the bath.

The toilet in the room was not working properly and we reported it twice and when we left it still has not be looked at or fixed.

The bed in room 119 was very poor and not comfortable at all. We ended up with back ache after sleeping on it. The duvet was of poor quality and ripped on the side .

The hotel is very clean. The staff are very friendly . These are the only good points of the hotel.

The spa and it’s staff were excellent and the treatments were fabulous- Body scrub and wash and full body massage. Highly recommended these .

The lighting in the entrance hall leading to the restaurant and the main bar were very poor indeed.

The indoor swimming pool was fabulous but a bit too hot (30 degrees) if you want to swim a lot which I do.

The food was very limited indeed especially at breakfast. All the cereals were high sugar ones which children would eat . No oats or muesli. The omelettes were very good but after a few days we got fed up with them. The lunch in the beach bar were good but mainly the same things every day. The downside for me having lunch at the beach bar was the cats (I have a major fear of cats and couldn’t enjoy my lunch at all - we ended up having lunch out twice and the restaurants were far better than this hotel.

The drinks (alcohol) were very limited on the all inclusive. The wine was very poor house wine. The gin was awful. The beer was very gassed indeed.

The coffee in the main bar was the best as the main bar person made them properly for me but still not the quality I expected from my coffee and I drink a lot of it.

No coffee or tea facilities in the room. I like a coffee when I wake up and was not able to have this until we went down to breakfast.

No drinks in the fridge in the room - most inclusive hotels stock the fridge with soft drinks, some beer and sweets. This hotel did nothing .

The pastries and desserts were good but the ice creams were awful.

The fridge in room 2026 was so loud that we had to switch it off.

The bungalows need updating badly.

The drainage system needs improving too.

The beach is lovely and sand is perfect.

The food at times was not hot enough .

No bar snacks - ice creams or crisps at all

Fruit very limited and not good quality. You need to cut open the fruit as it can be bad especially the apples and pears

Sorry but not a hotel I would go back to.

2 stars are for the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff especially in the main bar and beach bar and the spa

Thank you for choosing Paradis Palace and taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry that the room experience did not meet your expectations. Allow us to offer our sincere apologies.

Our breakfast is very varied with hard eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes, fried eggs, masfouf= sweet couscous, rice with milk, doughnuts, 20 kinds of pastries, salads, 7 jams, 3 kinds of honey, butter, seasonal fruits, hot sausages, hot vegetables, white beans in tomato sauce (for English), 2 kind of cold sausages, cheese, ricotta, 6 kinds of yogurt, cereals, milk, filter coffee, coffee machine … ……

We offer our guests at noon a lunch by the sea, "feet in the water", with fresh grilled fish, chicken, turkey, fresh quails, grilled in a wood fire, at least 8 different salads with side dishes, a sandwich station, pasta, pizza, fries, Tunisian specialities, lots of vegetables, meat in sauce, fish in sauce, fries, show cooking, Tunisian specialities, fruits etc. etc. etc.

In the evening guests enjoy different tastes and spices with our theme buffets: Monday = around the Mediterranean, Tuesday = Asian, Wednesday = Italian, Thursday = aroma therapy, Friday = Tunisian, Saturday = international and Sunday = eastern. At each meal we also offer pasta, pizzas and fries and Tunisian meals, 10 salads etc. There are for all tastes, a great choice and a good quality to satisfy all 15 different nationalities that inhabit the hotel!

In addition in the afternoon we offer a magnificent and hearty snack to our guests like cake, pizza, pancakes, waffles, doughnuts and ice creams!

Every guest, who want to have a coffee before breakfast can ask for a kettle at the reception. Please also note that imported brand alcohols are very expensive and have to be paid. The local alcoholic drinks are free. In our hotel the fridge is every day refilled with mineral water and if you want a sift drink, ask the chamber maid. As we do not import fruits and vegetables, we depend on the seasonal products, but there is always more than enough on the buffet.

We have a hygienist in the hotel who is supported by the team of the International Hygiene Company from Tunis, E-cristal, who control and report EVERYTHING in the hotel, starting with the receipt of goods (animal-certified products only), freezers, refrigerators, kitchen, restaurants, barbecue, buffets, pool area and water with the company Prochimat (water quality and pH values), washing machines and even the staff and their locker rooms ! All glasses and polycarbonate cups are washed and disinfected with a non-toxic product !

Very clean hotel.
Bar staff friendly and efficient.
Room was cleaned to a high standard.
Food was warm unfortunayely never hot but edible.restaurant staff lovely all of them.
Tui operators were helpful and approachable.
Hotel itself needs upgrade very cold inside in early mornings and evenings..
Annimation team lovely but took dislike to a no when they tried to get you to dance in the evenings.
Porters at the airport take your luggage the short distance from airport doors to coach and demand UK pounds all in sight of Tui staff.
Local taxis cheap safe and good command of English.
Spa treatment was repetitive i paid too much money for service delivered plus it is way outside hotel enterance.
Convenience shop inside hotel had everything a solo traveller could ask for.
Only met reception staff 3 times but they seemed happy people able to direct and give advice.
Maintenance staff very efficient whilst taking a backroom role.
A decent hotel.
