My best friend and I stayed in the Chich Khan hotel for a week in August. We was slightly weary due to various mixed reviews before hand and therefore I would like to clear a few things up.

The hotel is amazing, the reception area is lovely and cool for a little sit down and relax before dinner. The hotel staff cannot be more helpful, anything you asked for they would sort. The waiters included, sometimes a small tip here and there kept them bringing you drinks throughout the day and night.

The food is to be expected in an all inclusive resort, it's rather repeatative but there is different option every night. There's always someting to eat for everyone at all times of day. Your able to get snacks throughtout the day as well.

The beach is amazing, rather small section for the hotel but not many people seemed to use the beach when we was there. You will always be able to get sun beds at any time of day. There is also a bar and food on the beach but we never ate here.

The entertainment staff will try and get you involved as much as possible, they're lovely and harmless. They make a real effort to get to know you and encourage you to get involved, but a simple no will work if you don't want too.

The entertainment during the evening is standard, nothing special but amazing for children. There is the medina about a 10minute walk away with bars and restaurants that you can always venture out too during the evenings.

The rooms are lovely, clean, airy and the air con is amazing! Entering the room after a hard day os sunbathing in the heat is amazing! Beds are rather comfy and everything you need is in your room.

The pool area is lovely, although we did have to get up at about 8am each day to guarantee a good space around the pool, but this is typical of many hotels. The pool is large enough when the hotel is fully booked and there is enough room around the pool to still have your own space.

Overall, my friend and I had an amazing relaxing week at the Chich Khan and would definatly return soon!

The room had a pool view, it was clean and fit for purpose with three single beds, toilet, bathroom, tv and fridge. I liked the hotel style and decor, but it could do with a lick of paint, but not an issue. Loved the pool, very clean and plenty of room. Animation team was not something I would need but they were good and not in your face. The majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel.
The food - it was always Luke warm or cold, even when we went in at the start of the sitting. The choice was varied from salad to Tunisian to British. But, it was very repetitive, almost no change over the entire week. After 3 days I was dreading lunch and dinner, another meal of cold lamb stew or cold spag bols. So we stuck to bread and eating out. The food definitely spoiled what would have been an enjoyable holiday. For that reason I would not go back there again, which is a shame as I enjoyed all the other aspects of the hotel.

Room Tip: 1303 is a good room

I recently visited Chich Khan hotel, Hammamet with my mum and step-dad for 1 week and in my point of view that was enough! The hotel itself is welcoming with some outdated decor but nothing that needs dramatically changed! The staff at Chich Khan are very helpful with the exceptions of a few. It is a good idea to tip waiters as this makes it a better service. The entertainment team around the pool and on a night time make the visit to Hammamet that little more enjoyable, with many activities to take part in although if you don't want to you are not forced. The facilities which are available at Chich Khan are superb! The main let down of our whole trip was the food in the hotel. At the start of our holiday we thought the reviews saying 'poor food' were completely wrong but towards the end of our visit we started to agree with them . Their is a variation of food however, this is repeated every dinner and tea which gets sickening by the end of your stay. Breakfast was also a let down, I lived on bread and pancake for the week as their was nothing else worth having! In addition most of the food you eat is Luke warm or cold no matter what time you arrive at the restaurant. We chose to eat out on one of the nights, we visited la belle marine in Hammamet, I would definitely recommend this to anybody visiting Hammamett, not overpriced and the serive you receive is excellent! Rooms are clean and functional. I wasn't to keen on leaving the hotel into the local streets of Hammamet due to the hassle, we left the hotel only approx 3 times. I didn't like the hassle but if you are not fussed by that you should be fine. Overall this was an enjoyable holiday with the let down of the poor food.

Room Tip: Whatever room you stay in you are most likely to be able to hear the night entertainment. The best rooms in my point of view are the pool views.

Me and my partner really enjoyed our recent holiday in hotel Chich Khan. The animation team were excellent they worked non stop from early morning till late at night! Where some have said they have found them to be creepy well ill strongly disagree! They never once made myself feel uncomfortable or at unease! if they did pay any women some attention then it was usually gladly welcomed!!! As for the tipping situation the animation team was the only staff which we didn't tip and who we feel never expected it from us! They spent all day every day trying to make everyone feel welcome and involve everyone in the days activities! The pool games if you notice was in the deep section of the pool therefore only suitable for swimmers, children were welcome to take part in these activities if they so wished if not at the same time the female animation team were conducting the young kids clubs! As far as me and my partner are concerned the animation team were friendly, polite, easy to get on with, and by far the heart and soul of the hotel! Also all this during their Ramadan so all that effort still being made when in 35c heat with no food and water so please give them some credit!
On a not so good note the one and only thing me and my partner can complain about was the food! It was all edible and always something to eat whatever time of day it was just the same food everyday (i.e chicken and rice or burger and chips! ha ha ) We also gave up on breakfast after the first day but this is usually the case no matter where we go due to us Brits being fussy! We went for two weeks so all the second week we ate out at the British bar 'The Steakhouse' in the evenings and just had the snacks in the hotel in the day. The Steak House is a ten minute walk from the hotel. We highly recommend this as the food was stunning always cooked to perfection and to a British taste. This is the one place we could find bacon which my partner made use of the bacon and egg butties. Also their steaks were one of the best we've ever tasted. If going for one week the food might have been bearable now knowing what to expect. The only themed night we went to was the Asian night, again the food wasn't the best but nice and different to the norm! Also the waiters serve you which is also a nice change! Basically if you go to Tunisia all inclusive and have no spare money to eat out then there's no worry because between all the meals and the hotels there is always something to eat!
We can also not give enough credit to all the waiters day and night, you never had to leave your lounger or seats in the night to get drinks they were always there waiting for what ever you needed. We at first were a bit skeptical about the tipping situation but then soon realised it was a joy to tip! They worked non stop, had no abuse off them always polite and just normal guys earning a living. Who can moan about tipping one waiter one Dinah a day that's only 40p. How tight can some people be!
We would also advise people not to book any trips from within the hotel from your rep or locals situated by the shop as all the trips are around half price cheaper outside. We found the local guy trying to sell quad biking to be very arrogant and annoying, unless you were straight and said no he would constantly harras you.
Some people have said they have found the hotel to be old fashioned and outdated, again we strongly disagree! We found after visiting two of the other Iberostar hotels that the Chich Khan was more in keeping to where we were. It was authentic and very pleasing to the eye. When visiting the other hotels once inside it could be any hotel anywhere in the world. A friend of ours staying in the Solaria which is 5* said that our hotel looked better and had better service, (ours only being a 4*).
The hotel in all was very clean only with the rare exception! All rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and whatever toiletries needed. The pool and surrounding areas were swept, moped and cleaned daily too as well as all toilets and communal areas. The one time i found the downstairs toilets in a mess was down to no fault of the staff but of some dirty individual who obviously had not toilet manners.
So as you can see we have very little negative to say about our stay in Chich Khan. Don't listen to all the negative reviews i advise you to all make up your own mind! I don't understand what some people expect they are just plain never happy individuals!

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel however there are many negatives including the food. Often I found the breakfast not worth getting up for with there being two decent options in pancakes and omlettes. The lunchs were average with most of the food at the snack bar being cold so you would que up for 10 minutes just to find no freshly cooked food there. For dinner in the buffet there is exactly the same options as there is at lunch pizzas, pasta, chips and one hot plate meat. Dont eat the pasta in the tray ask for it cooked in front of you mixed with peppers, onions and tomatoes it is edible. The ice cream at the chich khan is excellent the one quality ellement in a mediocre dinner, overall there was about 8 flavours of ice cream with chocolate appearing the most.
The lobby is nice and homely, yes it lacks a wow factor when you arrive but its nice to chill there whilst using the wifi. The lobby bar was pleasant with a great atmosphere and good service, another good thing about the hotel was the soft drinks because the coke and fanta are the proper brands.
The pool was of an ample size, the pool side area was too small with there not being enough sun loungers and people would have to get up very early to secure a bed it was a minor irratation, the grounds are quite small but have enough in them with a useable mini golf course which is of a high enough standard to play a phew times pluss there is never a battle to secure a game with it normally being vacated, a major disapointment was the tennis court as half of the playing surface had lifted an inch with cracks all over the court making it virtually unplayable.
The animation games were excellent always running to schedual these games included water polo, archery, football, darts, and a pool game. However the animation team itself was clueless with none of them understanding the notion of fair teams with about 3 out of 13 games being close games, once I was playing a game and my team was losing by 5 but we had an extra player so the annimation team decides to give the opposite side an extra player, they were already ahead by 5 goals it ended up being about 30-2 to them, ridiculous.
The hotel was in a great position to get out and about through either taxies or public transport to towns and cities.
If you are quite young like ateenager or early 20s then you should definatly go down to the disco at 11 untill 1 expecially if you have some mates to go with you because its a fun night.
The rooms were ok after our air con got fixed half way into the holiday it was fine but to begin with having a slightly cold room in tunisia is un acceptable and hard to sleap in to be honest, also its a real lottery wether or not you get a room with a great vue or an appauling vue with one side of the hotel having the vue of an abondened road and bins or to be on the other side and receive nice views of the pool area.
The staff here are very annoying and creepy expecially the animation team seaming to be interested in teenage girls more then they should be. The animation team was great for people 13 and beyond as long as your big because they dont organise any kids games its always adult games but big teenagers can join in and have a good game in water polo. The animation team pay alot more attention to the adults rather then entertaining the more demanding children ( probably because they know thats were the tips would come from).
Just a heads up on the alacarts there all discusting serving out meals that iceland wouldnt sell with there being only one highlight from all 5 restaurants and that was 2 spring rolls the rest was tastless especially the mexican , the fajitas could have been made of cardboard and I wouldnt have tasted the difference.
Except for all the negatives a decent hotel but not a place to stay for 2 weeks more like a 10 day stay.

Dear guest,

We would like to express our gratitude for the comments you made about your recent visit. They help us to understand how our guests experience their stay with us. It is always our goal to achieve customer satisfaction and therefore our guest´s reviews are of prime importance. We continuously strive to deliver high standards and to ensure that everybody leaves with beautiful vacation memories.

In relation to our animation and its team we are sorry to hear that you find it not to be fun for everybody. The Iberostar Chich Khan hotel offers a program of daytime and evening entertainment for everyone in the family. Our entertainment team organizes daytime games and activities for children, while adults can relax in the Turkish bath or hammam at the spa and beauty centre. There is also fun and child care for the younger kids at the Mini-Club, a place meant for children with ages from 4 to 12 where all sorts of games and recreational activities are organized.

On the other hand we would like to come back to your comment on our staff. We lay high value on the service orientation of our employees, as we understand that this is a prime factor to achieve maximum client satisfaction. Exactly this is one of the prime pillars of our company; we do our best to school each and every staff member to provide an excellent treatment and to make all of our guests feel welcome and comfortable within the whole hotel. We will remain attentive to the behavior of our staff so as to avoid situations that lead us away from our goal which is complete client satisfaction through personalized and guest orientated service.
Further we are sorry about your disappointment on the tennis court; we will thoroughly study the possibility to renovate it. On the other hand it is a delight to read that you enjoyed the mini golf facilities as also the lobby and its bar.

Regarding our culinary offer we took good note of your remarks and passed them to the involved department in order to revise the procedures. However we would like to point out that in Iberostar Chich Khan our chefs’ work in accordance to the demanding quality standards established by the company on a global level, therefore we only contract competent professionals who work with products of prime quality and we attempt to please all palates. Therefore we find it enjoyable to read that our fine selection of ice creams and first brand soft drinks could largely satisfy you.

To continue, if you permit us, we are more than happy to explain that our hotel can provide different room types, views and rates. Therefore we kindly invite you to contact our call center or visit our web page when you are planning your next holiday. It will be a pleasure to offer you a personalized booking guidance in order to ensure that you become exactly what you wish.

Finally we want to thank you for high lightening the unbeatable location and the great atmosphere as also for letting us know that overall you enjoyed your stay and for having taken the time and effort to write your opinion on your recent stay in Tripadvisor.
