We spent two fantastic weeks at the Chich Khan in Yasmine Hammamet.
We flew from Glasgow Airport with Thomas Cook Airlines. The transfer from the airport in Monastir to our hotel was well organised and comfortable, despite the 90 minute drive. The guide was very informative and this helped to break up the journey.
On our arrival at the hotel, we were given a much needed drink and were warmly welcomed by the staff who all spoke good English.
We were informed at the welcome meeting about activities and facilities available within the hotel.
When we got to our room, we were slightly disappointed about the view and felt that the room was a bit basic for a four star hotel, compared to the glamour which was evident throughout the rest of the hotel.
We had an issue on the first day with the air conditioning unit which was leaking through the air vent, however we asked for this to be repaired and it was done the following day. The unit throughout the duration of our stay was kept at its coolest setting, but still wasn't particularly cold. This was less noticeable after a couple of days and didn't have a negative impact on our stay.
The bathroom was large enough and there was a shower curtain over the bath. The toilet was separate from the bathroom and had a bidet, which we didn't like or use!! The room was always kept clean and there was always toilet roll was available.
We required extra pillows and these were provided quickly after we asked.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel from the reception to the entertainment. We didn't often attend the evening entertainment, to our detriment. When we did go along to a comedy night we found it to be hilarious and were disappointed that we hadn't gone along more often. There were a lots of activities during the day and at night. Entertainment staff often came along and asked for participation in various games but were not pushy. They worked very hard and maintained their enthusiasm. It was very easy to have good banter with the staff and they warmed to you more if you interacted with them.

The hotel was situated in the middle of a developing resort and there was plenty to do out with the hotel. A 2 minute walk would find you at a theme park which we initially though was poor despite the reviews that it got from the rep, as about half of the rides were closed. However after we had been on a few which were very good, log flume etc, more opened up. The theme park was part of the Medina in Yasmine Hammamet which contained many restaurants and shops, you could quite easily spend the day there. The hotel also has its own private beach which is a couple of minutes away. It is also close to the marina where you can also find various restaurants which suited all tastes. We visited a ice cream/ smoothie bar on several occasions which seemed to be the most popular amongst the locals. We would recommend the pistachio smoothie.

We found the food to be excellent, which is why we came back about a stone heavier!!! Food is served as a buffet and there was always something available. The service for drinks was prompt with waiters often remembering what drinks you liked. There was an optional pool side bar which served lunches which we ate at every day as it was so convenient, it did not have as much selection as the main restaurant but it was very good. They also served pancakes at 4pm every day which were cooked in front of you.

The pool was very good, big and clean.

Overall, we had a very very good holiday. We have said that we will return to this hotel at some point in the future. Tunisia itself is a beautiful country with so much to do, and this hotel is very much recommended by us.

were do i start...this by far was the WORST hoilday ever. Ive never cried so much and wanted to get home so much. There was NO entertainment, no food during the day within or out side the complex, nothing to do as there was no sun, got searched everytime we went out side the hotel grounds as when we aked why they said because i was black!!?? Went to a local super market to get some food and there was NONE. This felt like a open prison with only BBC news as our entertaiment in our room. Everytime we tried to speak to our Thomas Cook rep she was no were to be seen. We got friendly with other couples who agreed it was poor . I cannot express how much i hated this hoilday and seriously wonder how anyone can enjoy it here? I never want to hear the word Chich or Kahn in the same sentance again! Once i came home i did contact Thomas Cook to complain who fobed me off so i took it to Abta and got less than half of my cash back? i would of prefered a nice hoilday but instead have come back with the worst memories and scared for life.

We stayed at the chich khan last September and was abit apprehensive after reading several reviews and wondered what on earth we had booked, but when we got there I was pleasantly suprised. We had a great time, we could not fault the hotel at all. The staff all round were great. the hairdryer in our room was broken and within minutes of going to reception, it had been replaced. the entertainment team were brilliant how they kept going all day and night beats me.

The food was good and there was plenty of choice and I am very picky as far as food is concerned.

We did venture out to the shops and found the shop staff very friendly and if you were polite to them and managed to have a bit of friendly banter they were ok.

We enjoyed it very much and are returning again this year.

hotel was adequate but in need of updating.very spacious areas inside to relax but too cold to even though temp at 16 degrees was better than the UK. Indoor pool was warm but too dark and facilities quite poor. All the staff were very friendly. Food was adequate but as vegetarians we did struggle at times. Staff were very helpful though and pizza's were made at request. Even on day of departure the chef packed pastries and fruit without being asked. we went as a family of 4 with 2 kids of 16yrs and 9yrs. they struggled to occupy themselves. Spent more time in our room as too cold anywhere else. The room as spacious but even with extra blankets and air con on hot, we still couldn't get warm. Medina was awful with the constant pestering. Same stuff sold at all the stalls. we prefered the local shops near the hotel and beach and were able to get good bargins. There weren't many supermarkets around either. Tried the fun buggies which after a slow start was good fun but very cold. Dubious about the waiver they thrust under your face to sign just before they bundle you into the buggy. kids enjoyed the experience but would not recommend for nervous drivers as you do hit major dual carriageways. don't recommend the shopping experience organised by Thomas Cook. was a waste of time and money. Found Tunisia too barren and can't see what there is to do even in height of season but found things to be cheap. Some of the fake designer stuff is good quality (Nike TN's) and belts.

My daughter Aimee and I stayed at this hotel from the 7.11.07 for 7 days. We had a great time thanks to the amination staff (Sam, Madi Momo & DJ) They made the stay at this hotel to be really great. The staff were all very friendly and service was very good. The hotel itself is beginning to look a bit tired but i am sure with some tlc soon it will be fine again. We met some really great people there (Hi to everyone) The entertainments manager does not appreciate how hard his team works. If it was not for this team I would not reccommend this hotel.
