Lovely hotel clean but needs a bit of updating
Evening entertainment is awful and not much else to do
Daytime entertainment was fab with Gazi and Saif they made sure everyone had lots of fun
Maybe not a 4 star ?

I must say reviews of this hotel were mixed. I guess we all want different things from a hotel so I am going to review this hotel in a way that I hope will help everyone.

Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. I was surprised that the area was so quiet. I imagined that Hammamet would be a city and that Yasmine Hammamet would be the quiet place. In actual fact it is the reverse. There is Hammamet centre but I must say with my picky head on it didn't appeal to us. In any case, we were there for a rest.

By the time we got to the hotel we were glad we chose it as some that we stopped at were really not our cup of tea. A lady I met on a trip told me a lot of people she had spoken to had complained about their hotels and the food. She was at the Averoes and really liked it. She had booked late and got a real bargain.

On arrival we were greeted by very smart staff and shown to a seat where we were given a warm scented flannel and a refreshing drink. We filled out the usual forms and were then shown to the room.

The room was very nicely done and planned out better than usual. It was very clean and bottled water was placed in the fridge every day. On the down side the bed was two singles with a dip in the middle and the pillows were very thin.

The weather was a bit chilly at the beginning of our holiday so we were grateful for the lovely indoor pool. The gym although, the equipment was old provided me with some exercise and there are pilates classes and water aerobics each day.

The food was varied. Breakfast was good (even though some people complained about the bacon not being like it is at home). I ask you!!!!!!!!!!!

Lunch was a buffet and provided a good choice. Dinner was either a buffet or you could book to go to the continental restaurant. It was a set menu but you had to take the chance that you would like everything because what it said on the board in a morning could change. There was a starter , sometimes a fish course main course dessert and fruit. We enjoyed it.

The pool area was very nice and clean and all the staff throughout the hotel were lovely.

I didn't go on the beach but my husband only went once and if you stray away from the hotel you will meet hawkers so take a few dinah as they will have good s for sale. They are only trying to make a living and as a Dinah is only 40p what the heck.

We went on the half day Carthage and the village trip. A long journey but the guide was very interesting and certainly knew his stuff. Personally we would have preferred longer in the Carthage area and less at the village. We like history more than markets. My husband booked the trip through Thomas Cook and it was £15 each.

We didn't go to the disco so I don't know what it was like

Overall we had a lovely time and I think the hotel is an all inclusive 4*

We spent 10 days here and were looking for rest and relaxation, and that is what we got. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have plenty of space, as are the lobby lounge and buffet restaurant. There is a nice, but cold, outdoor pool and a much warmer indoor pool but we didn't use the beach area as it looked small and deserted, probably due to the time of year.
Food is good, but needs seasoning, which is on the counter end and can be added to taste. Waiters will see to all your drink needs and make sure you stay topped up.
There have been previous reviews talking about the sound of barking dogs at night from the rooms at the front of the hotel and, for two nights, we did hear the hounds, but I still slept soundly. The area outside the hotel is very quiet and you will need to go to town if you want to get some cafe culture. You can either get a taxi to Yasmine Hammamet, the commercialised end of town, or venture up to the local high street. However, apart from the two day Sahara trip and the Tunis trip, we stayed at our hotel to put our feet up, with the exception of the Animation team member, Gazi, taking us and anyone else who wants a safe, non-exerting morning stroll about the local area at 9:30am for a couple of hours, which breaks up your time wonderfully and allows you to see the locals whilst Gazi answers any questions you have and gives you information on history, architecture, religion, politics and flora and fauna. There seemed to be nothing that he didn't know and no-one in the local area that didn't know him!
As for tipping the waiters, it is appreciated, but not expected. I am the worst tipper in history, but giving a dinar here and there is not going to kill you and it does help break the ice allowing us to have some great little chats and laughs with the staff.
You can change sterling cash at the reception and there is a cash machine in the lobby too. We did get some milliemes instead of dinars the first time we changed, but when we pointed out the error, it was changed instantly without any hesitation or hassle even though it had been a good hour before we spotted the error. We hardly needed any money for the hotel though, the all inclusive will serve you well.
Our Thomas Cook rep, Ondine, was in most afternoons, if you needed her, and she really cared about whether you were having a good time too. A little tip, if you need some reading material, look in the cupboards behind her desk where you will find a little selection of books and magazines left behind by previous travellers.
Wifi in the hotel though is almost none existent. Too many people are trying to connect too often and the only time you can use it is if nobody else is around, so don't go thinking you will be able to Skype, Facebook or stream video because it isn't going to happen. A positive spin to put on it would be that its a great way to disconnect from the world!
All in all, we had a lovely time and would definitely return, if only to go wandering with Gazi again!

Wanted a 7 night break at the end of Feb and chose this on price for all inclusive and because we hadn't been to Tunisia before. The hotel room was great for us, quiet and clean, though a neighbour reported sight of a cockroach and requested to move rooms we had no issues with the room which were cleaned every day. We found all staff helpful. the cash machine in the foyer works and the little coffee house in the basement was good yet very underused. It's a shame they allow smoking in the 'pub' which seems to put people off going in. Maybe they could at least confine smoking to one area. The food was mostly fine, some could do with better labelling and vegatarians may struggle for a decent main, despite plenty of veg and salad, beware of small bits of meat in some salads. The food my get a bit samey if staying for more than 7 days but the free International and Tunisian restaurant is worth booking for a set meal with waiter service in a nice setting. This breaks the week up and is a welcome change from the buffet style dining. We did not start tipping until the last couple of days and did not feel we were treated any differently.Reception will give change for your notes so you can tip a couple of coins at a time. Overall we were very pleased with our choice and would recommend for the price.

My only disappointment with this hotel was there was not a lot to do in the evening. The food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful nothing was too much. I would happily recommend this hotel and I would return.

Room Tip: We did move but only because we were a couple and wanted a double bed. Both rooms were good.

We have just returned from a two week stay at The Aziza Beach hotel. What can I say! everything was brilliant. The food, cleanliness, view, rooms and most of all the staff were excellent. Everyone we came into contact with made our holiday special. No one expects a tip they just give the best service. We didn't tip until our last day, but got the same service as everyone else!.I must recommend the daily walk organised by Gazzi, it lasts about 90 mins and is a walk about the local area,(meet 9.30am in reception). Gazzi will tell you everything you would want to know about the local area and Tunisian traditions and show you things you would never find on your own. We were on the second floor and never had any noise at all from any other room or floor! I cannot recommend this hotel enough and would return again without hesitation!! Thank you everyone for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 243, lovely sea and pool view and no noise from anywhere.(Except the sea at night...

Unfortunately Thomas Cook advertise the hotel as 5 Star and it most certainly is not.
We stayed A.I for 1 week from 23.03.14
During this time we saw only 1x cleaner on the complex & the pool was cleaned the day before we departed only.
Communal areas were tired and unclean, stains on seats alongside dead plants in the lobby bar.
We had 1 drink from the pool bar - the plastic cup was so badly damaged I couldn't bring myself to drink from it - it looked like a dog had played with it & chewed it for a week. The BBQ Lunch/restaurant served drinks in clean glasses, wine flowed freely and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
We were disappointed with the food in the buffet restaurant - never before have I witnessed the previous evening service vegetables reheated and served at breakfast - please enlighten me, who would consume reheated Broccoli for breakfast??
Salads were visibly tired, dull and lifeless - definitely not prepared and chilled within hours of service, more like days in advance.
We are not picky eaters but we did struggle here.
The hallway carpets leading to the bedrooms were filthy - we heard a vacuum cleaner noise 1x during our stay however it was not near our leg of the corridor. On a plus side - all front of house staff were excellent - very friendly & attentive with a smile at all times.
The cost of the holiday is reflected in the standard of the complex but please Thomas Cook - refrain from advertising this hotel as 5star
Would we chance a cheap holiday in Tunisia again - definitely NOT

Room Tip: The Sea View room option is worth the extra cash
