“Very relaxing & quiet : )”
Reviewed September 26, 2007

We have just got back form the Aziza Residence and it was a really lovely place to stay. The Aziza Residence is part of the Hotel Aziza across the road and guests staying at the Residence are free to use the facilities at the Hotel...although the Aziza hotel staff are always questioning who you are and where are you from! The staff at the Aziza Residence are very friendly & helpful.

The rooms are self catering at the Residence and they are very clean, spacious and cool (the weather is hot hot hot!). The maid came into the room every morning before 12 noon, made the bed, changed the towels, swept the floor, emptied the bins etc. However i did notice that the bed sheets were not changed once during our week's stay. But i am very fussy!

There is internet access in the Residence near the reception which is 5 Dinars for 30 mins, about £2. There is also a bar and a supermarket where you can buy all sorts of things from juice and sweets to towels and wine.

There are 3 pools at the Residence which are lovely and clean. 1 of which is especially for children. A bit cold to start of with but you soon get used to the water temperature when your in swimming about and great for cooling you down when youve been sunning yourself in one of the many comfortable sun loungers. There is also a small play area next to the pools for children.

The hotel has lovely views over the pool or the sea, depending on which end of the hotel you are situated. We had a sea view but we were also next to the main road. I thought it would keep me awake with traffic but the traffic isn't even that busy during the day let alone at night.

Overall the hotel was great and it was a lovely relaxing weeks break we had : )

Home last night after 2 great weeks at the Aziza Residence in Hammamet. Our studio was spacious, clean and a balcony with sea views and a nightly local traffic show which was very funny.
This complex is in Hammamet Nord about 3 kilometres from the central medina along the sea front, we walked a couple of times late evening but a cab was only about 3 or 4 dinar. Locally there are a few shop/supermarkets for basics and some really nice restaurants, I would recommend Marco Polo steaks about 10-15 dinar and we had great service and food whenever we went.( there are nice seafront restaurants near the medina but more expensive the BARBARROUSE on the walls of the medina is VERY special with higher prices but well worth it for a treat)

Evening entertainment seems to be focused on the larger hotels, when we wanted a more lively night we took an 8 dinar cab to the Irish Bar (next to Bel Air Hotel) up until midnight it is 241 at the bar, live band some evenings & disco for dancing, on Friday they have a drag act which is a good clean show but funny.

Day trip to Carthage which took in Tunis, Bardo Museum & the very beautiful town of Sidi Bou Said, it took all day but very interesting the north & Cap Bon area seem much more lush and pretty compared to the area around Sousse/Skanes.
Another day trip to Kairoran & El Jem over 40c this sight is overwhelming!!!

Lots of shopping, lots of bargains if you are prepared to negotiate VERY VERY HARD, 1 mirror started out at 180 dinar but we knew that was way over the top, we refused to pay more than 30 dinar and got the mirror, if there is no profit they will not sell.

Tunisia was much better than i expected and all our party enjoyed the 2 week holiday very much
(2.4 dinar to 1 GBP)
