“BEST HOLIDAY EVER!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2010

Just got back from the Iberostar Averroes, first time in Tunisia. Absolutely loved it! The hotel was bang on, great staff, fantastic animation team and GOOD food, the food was the best, every night! The room was fantastic, a big suite overlooking the pool, couldn't have been happier. The Pirate trip was brilliant, but make sure you take your own beer. The guy in the hotel shop and photo dudes are a good laugh. Nice and clean and a few tips go a long way! Definately going back, met some lovely people. See you next time.

Just back from a lovely 2 week holiday at the iberostar averroes in yasmine hammamet,
the hotel is lovely very clean nice pool area right by the nice sandy beach, food was really good - rooms very clean and modern - but the best thing overall was the entertainment - the animation team are so helpful and so good at their job they work non stop from early morning until late at night making sure all the guests are entertained with sports activites shows in the evening - the entertainment manager was brilliant - so overall a fantastic hotel well worth a visit

I travelled with my friend to this hotel end of May.

I loved the location and the food was great too. I found the evening entertainment ok but a bit cheesey but this is what you come to expect from hotels.

I too went out with animation staff and I had a romance with one of them. He calls me lots now I am back in Sweden (sounds like the same person mentioned in previous review) and asks me to come back and see him. Please be aware these boys are with different girls every week - it is a perk of the job so either realise that is what they are after and be careful or stay well away. These boys are paid to be nice during the day but when they are on their own time they will try and romance you and try to make it with you.

Anyway, the other staff were great in the restaurant and the rooms were nice also so I would return to Tunisia but to another hotel where I wasn't harrassed as much as yes I want to go to disco after bar but not to kiss animation staff! You're great boys but leave us alone!

This was my 5th time in Tunisia and the 5th Hotel as well.
This time I travelled with my 4yo daughter and my mum and the 3 of us were quite satisfied with the Hotel and the services provided.
We were not lucky with the weather but there is a new Medina 10 minutes walking and some stores and restaurants around. To be honest, we have only gone out of the Hotel at night by European Football Final. In front of the Hotel there was this café full of Portuguese watching José Mourinho win again and there we were with them.
The staff was all very kind and I was really glad I have chosen this Hotel.
Aww and Hamam and Massage were great.

i am a travel consultant working for thomas cook uk and i spent 14 nights at the iberostar averroes in may 2010.
the hotel has some good points and some bad points, ill start with the good

the staff are amazing,i can honestly say i have never been treated so well on holiday by the staff they remember your bar order night after night they reserve your table for you in the restaurant and have your drinks ready for you as you sit.our waiter Ilyus was exceptional he really made our evening meal special as it can get a bit boring in the buffet night after night.

* with regards to the previous review about the ANIMATION TEAM,we loved them.they worked very hard day after day and yes they ask you to the disco, but you dont have to go, so what do you expect them to act like when they are off duty.we spent alot of time with the lads from the team and found them all great, we are even in touch with them now and they do not ask us to send them things from home.to be honest the animation team made our holiday and we would return to this hotel because of them.

The hotel is a short walk to the medina and its a lovely stroll along to the marina, theres a number of restaurants and shops along the sea front and towards the medina.the fixed price shops are actually cheaper than the medina and you dont get any hassle.

the tunisia people are amazing, really friendly and not letchy at all like the turkish.we also found we did not get hassled any where near as much as we do in egypt or other parts of tunisia.
the rooms were great, huge bathroom ,huge bed and seperate bathroom and loo!
our view was poor but if you pay fro a sea view the views are great, we were not too bothered though.

now the bad points.

the food was not great for us however we have to say it is probably more down to our taste than the quality of the food.if you are a seafood fan you will love this, they had fresh prawns and muscles and even squid on the evening and fresh fish bbq on the daytime.
the evening menu was varied they would have wild bore one night on a carvery then pork the next night then lamb then beef on rotation.they always had a pasta station so if there was nothing you fancied you could have this.
the hotel could do with a little updating just a few areas need a repaint but nothing too bad, just as its iberostar i would have expected better standards.

all in all i would definitily stay here again mainly because of the staff and the great people we met who work in the hotel.

At Spring Bank (May-June 2009) my wife and I travelled to this hotel and had a good holiday. The staff showed bias towards the French leaving Brits in the cold. This year we returned on 30th May returning home on 6th June 2010 but with our 10 yrs old grand daughter.
On arrival we were made extremely welcome the reception manager recognising us. On walking round the grounds many of the waiters recognised us from last year and all made a fuss of our granddaughter.
The days we spent poolside the lifegaurds, annimation team and waiters alike all had an awaredness of children and quickly recognised which child belonged where. The led to a relaxing time for all. There was a good balance of food for my wife and I as well as granddaughter.
The room we had was on the back of the hotel fine as we had late afternoon sun but no view. As we were only there for ! week we put up with it. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable with nothing too much trouble for the maid.
The public areas were kept clean and well presented. The staff good and attentive the French bias has vanished.
The manager from last year has gone, promoted within the group to a 5star hotel. The new manager a Tunisian has excellent awaredness and continually made his presence known to the staff. He spoke to guests and wanted to know of problems.
The pools both indoor and outdoor were clean and safe. The staff on the swim up bar were friendly and efficient.
Alltogether a good holiday better than last year will be considering a week there again.
