“Lovely Hotel, but too noisy for us.”

We arrived in the early hours to be greeted by cool face towels and a light buffet, delighted thank you.
Our room was exactly as we requested with a lovely sea view, big enough for 4 of us. Bathroom looked tired but clean and adequate, toiletries and lovely soft clean white towels.
Maid every day, fresh towels on request, at least daily.
Restaurant ok, does get very noisy, not everyone is used to queuing, especially the young children who seem to run riot, we experienced many of the younger guests manhandling the food, the chefs and waiters don't seem to stop it. We tried going later but found that worse, ( why would you bring tired fractious children to dinner at 9?).
The food was good, better some days than others but we always found something we liked. Excellent salads & cold meats/cheeses. Many of the desserts were better than some Eastern European countries we've visited. We were all inclusive, but not as we usually find, the drinks are awful, seem to come ready made from a machine and taste the same, cocktails we found undrinkable. The only beer on offer was light and gassy. White & red wine will take the enamel off your teeth!, rose ok'ish. Only herbal tea on offer, and only at breakfast. Coffee I found too strong. Food is only available at certain times, outside these times you have to pay. Afternoon sandwiches & cakes is actually choice of 2 types of panini, waffles, pancakes or ice cream served from a bar by the pool and you can imagine the queue! Pancakes are worth waiting for though - lovely.
We found most of the pool waiters ok, but as we did not tip we were ignored or are orders did not arrive. If we went to the bar ourselves we seemed to wait until all the 'local' or French speakers were served, they just shouted their order and seemed to get it instantly, those of us wearing the 'all inclusive bands' often had to wait. We did mention this to the bar manager who was very apologetic but no improvement.
My daughter and I had taken her 2 teenage children away for a break, leaving husbands at home, this seem to affect the way we were treated, maybe a cultural thing but as 2 women alone we often felt ignored by the predominantly male staff, except one afternoon when I went back to our room with the children leaving my daughter to finish sunbathing, when she was approached by a bar waiter and asked if she would like to go out for coffee later!! For a women in her mid thirties I suppose she should have felt flattered but she did not, it put a nasty tinge on the holiday and she never went anywhere alone again!
If you want a sunbed, get up by 7 and reserve or you will not get one, we found the local Tunisian visitors (there are many of them) are up by 6, in the pool by 7 and all sunbeds gone. It is very noisy by the pool, the beach is better, sea lovely and warm, clear water. Beach staff lovely. Towel and sunbed mattress man really nice, will always carry your mattress for you and try and find a sunbed if you are late down.
Would we go again, No. It's not for us, but if you have young children, don't mind the noise, and have your partner with you (male) you will probably love it.

Room Tip: Always go for a sea view, worth the money.

Our first trip to Tunisia and will not be the last. The hotel is situated in a quiet location - so if you are looking for local bars etc this may not be for you. Although there are sufficient bars within the hotel.
We were allocated two adjacent rooms overlooking the table tennis table and the nearly completed, sister hotel ( I am told, but cannot be sure, this will be a 5 star property and opens in September). Fortunately there wasnt any noise.
As Hannah B mentioned the staff were amazing - a special mention to Said who looked after all of our libation needs and also to Maheer who always had a smile on his face.
Food was plentiful and varied and, during our stay, we didnt have any issues in obtained a sun lounger - although I understand that others may have has issues after we left due)
I was somewhat appehensive about this holiday but am pleased to say that it was probably the best hotel I have stayed in abroad - and beats most of the ones I've stayed in in the UK - free wifi also kept the youngest occupied

One little tip, as this was not mentioned by our tour operator: the hotel offers beach towels for use aroung the pool - please check direct with the hotel. With various weight limits now imposed by most tour operators - leaving you beach towel at home can allow you to take some extra luggage

Please also be reminded that upon arrival in Tunisia you are expected to complete an entry card - make sure you have a pen with you as this was not mentioned by our travel agent nor on the flight.

If you are looking for a relaxing quiet holiday at a stunning hotel, in Tunisia, then you would be hard pressed to find another that matched le Sultan

Absoloutely fantastic hotel and staff! Could not of wished for a better holiday, we defonately made a fab choice in choosing this Hotel.
All the staff are lovely, this includes the waiters, (meal times and bars) entertainment staff, those at reception and also the cleaning staff.
We payed extra for sea view rooms and we certainly got that! Beautiful!

We went out on one excursion, we visited a village, the local zoo and ended with a ride around Hammamet coast line on the pirate ship, so much fun! We highly reccomend this.

Thank you to everyone at Le Sultan, our stay was absoloutely wonderful, enjoyed by all 6 of us and we can't wait to come back again!

We stayed 10 days in July for the first time in Tunisia. We checked in around midnight and we were greeted with a cold towel and offered a substantial salad and drinks (very welcome after the usual delayed flight from a well known tour operator) then showed to our room on second floor with garden view by a very courteous porter. We wished on a sea view, seen the reviews on tripadvisor, but since our good sized room was so quiet, well fitted, clean and with a balcony from which we could admire the beautiful sunrise and relax in the shade in the afternoons, we were really pleased we stuck with it! I had the most relaxing holiday I could possibly wish for. I commend the choice of personnel, every single member of staff - from the waiters to the cleaners to the animation team... - was polite, helpful and friendly, I really cannot fault the service we received and these people are to me a living advert to holidaying in Tunisia. We enjoyed the food in the buffet restaurant, always offering some delicious fresh fish and a good balance between local and international cuisine. The all inclusive selection of drinks was good, to be enjoyed from the various bars poolside and indoors. The outdoor pool was adequate, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were good as well for relaxing. I appreciated the fact that the hotel has a direct access to a cosy rocky beach where I could go snorkelling or diving with the very competent and friendly instructor (diving comes at a very affordable price too). The main hotel beach is a short walk away and has brilliant free activities on offer (kayaks, pedalos, wind surfs, beach volley). We were never bored, and I must add that the pool grounds are wide enough that you can find a quiet spot or you can be as active as you want. Le Sultan might not be perfect but it gives it a bloody good try! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This holiday was excellent. From the moment we arrived the customer service was very good and remained like this during our 11 day stay. All the staff at this hotel can't do enough to help you and make sure you enjoy your stay. The food is of a very good standard with plenty of choice for everyone and all the waiters in the restaurant and bars are friendly and professional. We booked a room with a sea view which took our breath away . The room was very clean as was the rest of this hotel . We were sad to leave this excellent hotel and all the friendly staff and have only been back two days but have already been looking at dates to go again . Thank you to the great team at Hotel Le Sultan .

Room Tip: The higher floor sea view rooms had an excellent view.

The hotel was a very high standard,clean and friendly.all staff throughtout the hotel were friendly and willing to chat to you,no need to get up early as sunbeds were available all day and towel were available to hire for a small deposit of 10 dinars.
the food was varied and had chef stations at all meal times and there were lots to choose from.
the beach for the hotel is 80mtrs down the beach but it is manned and free water sports for hotel guests.
You need a good hotel if you are going to Tunisia and this is the one.

We spent 10 days at this hotel in July. Did not want to leave. We were looking for a relaxing break and it was perfect for us. Facilities are very good but by far their best asset is their staff. A special mention for Tarek in the restaurant. Gold star for his customer service skills. Also for Charak by the pool (hope we have spelled your name right).

My partners parents are Tunisian so I have eaten many Tunisian dishes before. We were thrilled to be able to eat many favourites in the Restaurant. I enjoyed trying new dishes too. When we are in another country we want to be able to try local dishes and there were plenty. I can't understand the negative comments about the food. We enjoyed every meal.

Our room was clean and the air con a blessing. We were at the front of the hotel overlooking the kiddies club. Very quiet.

We spent most of our time on the beach. Felt more could me made of this area. Always got a sunbed but a bit disappointing to see guests from other hotels and locals making use of the sunbeds and not being asked to leave. Maybe this happens when the hotel is full.

A mention also for On (Thomas Cook rep) who helped us to visit Tunis to see where my partners parents grew up.

Will visit again, only wish it could be soon.
