“A LOVELY HOTEL AND YOU CAN GET IT SOOO CHEAP”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

We loved it here, a cheap room in a beautiful hotel with some of the best hotel staff i have ever met. The staff were fantastic, all friendly, helpful , all could speak many languages to a high standard. Nothing was too much trouble, I cant praise them enough. Fantastic. The top floor rooms have huge balconies, great views, the food is lovely.

Room Tip: GO OFF SEASON, ITS QUIET, VERY CHEAP AND FRIENDLY.get a top floor room with sea view, the balconies...

The description of the hotel online is really bad and deceptive, the hotel is not located on a golden sandy beach, there is a stretch of water at the front of the hotel when is the tide is out there a 4m piece of beach, which is littered with broken glass, there is also a water outlet pipe where the hotel waste water goes on to the beach. The gym does not exist there is a 1m square room with an old broken power plate. Only one buffet restaurant (catering to a full hotel) open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, nor do they look anything like the pictures on the website. One bar and the lobby bar only open during the evenings, despite the hotel being totally full and saying it has two restaurants and 5 bars.No matter what time we had breakfast or dinner it was so busy and the queues so long it took up to 40 mins to get any kind of food, all the rest of the outlets were closed

The rooms as were in poor condition with no sign of any renovation as you can see from the images of the old mildew and stained curtains nor do the rooms look like the ones on the website, the beds were so small as a 6’2 person it was impossible to get an sleep and we did request king size beds. The pillows were very old and not clean, in really poor condition, were so hard I ended up sleeping with a rolled up blanket as a pillow, the minibars were empty and the safe did not work and the satellite TV and TV were so old there the quality was really poor and unwatchable. The quality of the food was very very poor. At the best it was cold at worst raw and some meals were totally inedible (the meat was so tuff it looked like the chef had wrestled it from the jaws of a rabid dog. One several occasions my chicken was raw, again the queues were so long by the time you got your food it was colder, again we went out to eat at other restaurants and hotels for food, the quality was not 4 star standards. Breakfast again was really poor, by the time we made toast and tea or coffee and waiting up to 30 mins for an egg or an omelette the toast was cold. The quality of the food was not 4 star, There was one chef one the egg station to feed about 500 guests!!!!!, if they ran out of bread for toast, they waiters just shrugged. On 3 occasions we didn’t even have breakfast we left the hotel and went out to other hotels and restaurants for food. Snacks purchased from the hotel shop, we bought some nuts from the hotel, after eating them on the first day, I did notice there was something not right, it was only until the next day in the bottom of the snacks were live maggots in the bag at this point we called BA and asked them to fly us back early, i could not stay another minute.

The hotel management have a very non pulsed, there seemed more interested in making sure the French and local guests were happy. It was only when I spoke in Arabic and French did we get a reaction. There is a plus side the hotel as the most amazing stables and horse riding school very professionally run and its a 30 min walk to the Media,

Room Tip: The sea view rooms have a great view, but try and get a bigger family room with a bigger balcony

I really like the lobby and the way the staff are dressed. The lobby has a stunning view. The pools are great, the restaurant is big and has a decent selection. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are old. That would be my only negative comment. It seems the hotel is very very busy, so if you dont mind that youll have a good time. Its close to the Medina. If youve never been to Hammamet its in the old part of Hammamet. I personally prefer being in Yasmine, as its close to the seawall, the touristy shops and the Medina. This hotel is more local, and not that close to everything else. But its not a far taxi ride.

The hotel is renovated and have a nice marine style. If you are coming to enjoy the sea, it will b better to change your choice unless you are a fun of rocky beach. the pool is good but not very wide, the restaurant offers good gastronomy. The hotel is not far a way from the down town (about 8km).
the horror was by night since i was not able to sleep: the bed quality is a very bad one.
This is my second stay in this hotel, the first experience 2 years before was better, it seems that the rooms quality is different since in the first time, the bed was tender and there was an LCD TV in the room.
I will say that given the stay price/quality and supposing you will have a good bed :), the hotel is a good one.

Room Tip: sea side rooms with LCD and confortable bed to be checked

We stayed a week (7 nights) at the end of October which is end of season. That meant the hotel was only half full. We had a double room with sea view on the 2nd floor (0 = ground level) and an all inclusive deal. The hotel is well managed and the staff makes it all work like clockwork.

Perfect room: good size, stirdy matresses, nice decorating style, spacious terrace, efficient airco, sound proof insulated, well equiped and practical bathroom, more than enough storage for clothes etc., very clean and impecable maintenance.

The buffet restaurant (there is also a menu restaurant) serves decent food with enough choice and variation for most people. Omlets, wraps and grilled meat are prepared to your taste while you wait. You can even boil your own egg for breakfast. The food is fresh, well presented, efficiently organised and monitored. The restaurant facilities are (kept) clean and service (serving drinks, removing used plates, cleaning and setting tables) is swift.
Pancakes are served at the pool at tea time every day.

Numerous beach chairs and parasols are dispersed on the vast and perfectly maintained lawn that edges the pool and the 3 meter deep sea cliff. The pool is large enough and clean. There is also a fairly large indoor pool. The private sandy beach is a 100m walk south of the hotel. There are 3 more lounging/seating/eating areas outside to relax, have a drink, chat, read a book ... The large lounge also has 3 different seating areas, each with its own feel. The indoor bar annex entertaintment hall serves drinks from morning until midnight. Service at the bar can be slow due to a badly organised layout and the obligatory sign-off-notes.

Evening animation is the classic tourist stuff most of the time, which is a pitty. Although, some evenings a pianiste plays popular tunes in the lounge during dinner time.

The staff is very helpfull, polite and friendly, especially if they feel respected. Staff greet the guests while passing by, especially in the morning. We were offered a late checkout for free in a different room so the maintenance staff could finish early and head home for the Feast of the Sacrifice (Eid Al-Adha).

We had a very relaxing holiday in a resort with every facility one would ever need. We felt as slightly spoiled guests, but never tourists. If you want value for money in an almost luxourious but relaxing atmosphere, then this is it.

My wife and 1 stayed a fortnight at this hotel for some autumn R & R in mid October. Really excellent. We know the Hammamet area well and this hotel has a good location, good staff, excellent food ( a good choice for all meals, with an emphasis on local cuisine ), an exceptional level of cleanliness and a good range of activities. The riding centre is of a high standard, as are the tennis courts. The pool is superb, especially if you want to do some fitness swimming. The sea is safe for swimming and pretty idyllic. We also sailed their Hoby catamaran which is all thrown into the all inclusive price. Worth booking a sea view room.
This is also a good base for seeing the local and surrounding areas. We found the Tunisian train system easy to use. Tunis is only 50 mins away and the trains ran reliably enough, but do go first class ( very cheap travel ). The trams in Tunis are quite entertaining. The revamped Bardo museum is excellent. More locally, the Neapolis architectural heritage site just outside Nabeul is an hour well spent, with a good cafe opposite the entrance.
All in all, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Go second floor facing the sea.

Perfect location, right by the sea and in a calm and nice part of Hammamet. We had a superior double room with a sea view and the view was to die for. A huge terrace almost the size of the room with sun loungers and parasol. Very, very clean hotel, garden pool, etc. I have been to Hammamet a lot of times before, stayed in many different hotel and this hotel is by far the best. The service is also very good, staff is helpful and smiling. Nice breakfast, although not as much choice. Definitely a place I will be returning.
