“Never again”

El Mouradi Hammamet

After being in Hammamet once before in the late Sheraton resort I convinced my husband to take our family vacation in Hammamet again. A mistake was made. A five star hotel is a place of luxury, friendly staff and cleanliness - and this is everything but. Dirty carpets, grumpy waiters, renewing of the. Hotel during season. Helloo. We are from Slovenia and in our country this hotel would be about two stars if. I like Tunisia and we will go to Hammamet again but never again to this place. I don't recommend it at all.

I imagined that could be bad, but no so much! The staff is the worst part, completely not professional! An advice! Is better to give them a tip like 2 dinars (1.2 euros) each move that you do in the hotel (ask for a towel, pay your drink, etc.)! Is the only way that they work! Never be bored with them, is much worst! Their national sport is joke with you all the time, even that you are not interested, and they have time to do it! Remember it is your holidays, the time to you take a rest, because you have at least 11 months of hard work, where someone will push you hard if you are not professional! So I passed 14 days in this hotel (did 4 days of one day excursions) trying to fight against their hostility if you do not give a tip. Very funny in the end!

We did not stay at the El Mouradi, however we did have a massage there.
It was awful - very unprofessional!!!

We choose to have a massage in the double room with my boyfriend on the bench next to me.

When we first followed a man from reception to the room where the therapists were waiting, it felt like a meat market... I could feel them looking at me and the mens eyes widen (please be aware that I am not being vain or big headed - I am no super model).

I had a man masseuse and my boyfriend had a woman.

Anyway we carried on to the treatment room, where we were not given any privacy and they looked on whilst we stripped down to our boxers and kickers and jumped onto the bench.
Normal practice would be for the therapist to provide a towel which would be used to cover your bottom and they would leave the room and instruct you to strip and lay on your front.

So they proceeded to cover us with foul smelling oil, and started the massage.
It was clear from the very beginning that they had no real idea of what they were doing and to be honest it felt as if the man was doing it more for his pleasure than mine.
Once he moved on from my legs, he actually pulled my thong down to bellow my bottom!!! I was astounded and am sorry that I didn't speak up then.

From this point on I was most uncomfortable. I felt when I rolled over that I had to specify that I didn't want him to massage my chest and have no doubt that he would have continued to do so. Again, no towel was offered to cover my chest as is usual practice.

Also he used this oil on my face which was the final straw.
Finally I had to request a towel to wipe of the oil that we were dripping in.

Please save your money and your dignity!

For your info:
A few guests at the Sandra Club where we stayed just of the beach said that the massage there is amazing and great value for money - they are all girls and are very professional.
