A rather nice hotel, though it gets to show its age. The health and beauty spa is probably its best, if not only asset.
Large suites facing the sea, but poor quality of service and dire food.
The quality of service is not up to the standard of Radisson elsewhere.

Yes, might be the best hotel in Djerba, but is definitely not worth almost 200 euros per night and not the same standard that you will get in the Radisson's in Europe, but rather a 3,5 stars to 4 minus at most. We were first given a room with a sea view on the top floor (4119) but that whole wing of rooms has an open corridor in the middle, with a glass ceiling, trees growing inside and thousands of little birds living in there. First of all, the birds make a constant, loud noise that cannot be escaped in the room after closing the door and second of all, you will be living next to a corridor of trees full of bird poo that is not washed away by the rain. So we moved to another room (2308), which was by the pool side, on the bottom floor of the other wing, apparently the same standard.

The room smelled of mold every time we entered no matter if we left the balcony door open or the air con. The sheets are not fully cotton, which had caused them to become fuzzy and not smooth, but rather itchy to sleep on (and maybe there were bed bugs, too...). Sure, the hotel has quite a wide range of restaurants and services, but the food was not great, and it was also overpriced. Especially the italian restaurant had tasteless food and even if the starters in the Thai restaurant tasted quite authentic, their main courses did not even remotely resemble the real thai food. One good thing about this hotel is that the pool is very big and you can even do lap swimming on the 43 m side. The beach is well arranged as the couples and families with screaming kids have separate sides. The service was quite ok in general - for Tunisian standards very good - though the staff was not genuinely friendly like in Tamerza, but at least quite professional.

However, my advice is not to go to Djerba (or Tunisia for that matter) at all in the first place. I know you can get better deals and value for money in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, even the Canary Islands (I prefer the smaller ones of them, though). And the beach is not any better here.

I thought I booked a 5 star hotel but this was not the case at all.

It was a disaster hotel (not worth 5 star at all, more a bad 3 star I would say) it started on the first day with hairs (more than one) in a pizza (with staff not really aplogizing for this, in contrast it was quite funny for them) and ended with discovering cockroaches during the last night of our stay. In between, we had our share of impoliteness by the staff, bad hygiene, A DISASTER. In closing, we will never book this hotel anymore and we hope you do the same.

Having read the reviews and looked at the brochures, we booked a week in the Radisson Blu Resort in Djerba, during July. We were looking for a quality hotel with good amenities, food and service. Our arrival at the hotel was very late in the evening at a time when only a few staff were on hand to help us. However they were helpful and got us into our rooms quite quickly.

The hotel and its grounds are very well maintained as is the fantastic swiming pool . All staff are extremely helpful especially the pool attendants who are extremely helpful. The atmosphere is both pleasant and welcoming with botb North African and french influences.Smoking is common place but not a problem for non smokers given the size of the hotel and layout of the communal areas.

The rooms overlooking the pool and with sea view are extremely well appointed. The airconnditioning is very good however I do agree that the toilets are rather small and the shower cubicle could be updated. Pidgeons use the balconies for roosting at night and can leave a mess which is generally cleaned up each day. Having said this, it is a minor niggle rather than a real problem and added to the overall experince.

Each day we had breakfast in Ceramique, which is the main resturant. It is well kept and presented. The quality and range of foods on offer is very good and you will be hard pressed not to find something to your liking. Lunch in Turquise is recommended. The food is very fresh and of very good quality . Tuna Salad, Seafood pasta and freshly baked Pizza are all reccomended. In the evening the menu in this resturant changes to Thai cusinine and I have to say that for my families taste the food was not spicy enough. Dinner in the Ceramique was better with a range of fresh fish, middle eastern dishes and excellent BBQ. Pre dinner coctails in Turquise are recommended if somewhat expensive.

The Flamingo lounge is very good with a pleasant ambience and the opportunity to try the Shisha pipe! The resident band are very good and the music enjoyable.

Our family each had a treatment in the Thalosso Spa which is recommended . I would have the gommage treatment first before you start your suntaining though! The saltwater pool is definetly worth trying .Overall the SPA is very clean and proffesionaly run and worth a visit.

A very nice touch was the hotel Director walking amongst and chatting with the guests each evening.

The beach outside the hotel is private and very well maintained. Whilst there the sea was generally calm and the waters clear. The opportunity to ride camels or horses exitsts but you are not pressured to do so.The water sports offered by Club Mistral are superb as are the staff who are extremely helpful. I recommend paying them a visit if you like to enjoy the water.

A trip in to the market town of Houmt Soul is reccomended but be prepared to haggle. The local creamics are good but we manged to get the price for four dishes down from €100 to €25 euros.

Overall we had a great experince at this hotel and would return again

Room Tip: If your budget allows go for a deluxe sea view room
