Our holiday to Djerba was made unforgettable by this hotel alone. For a relaxing retreat away from large soulless factory-like tourist hotels, this is the place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly, never without a smile or greeting. Our French isn't very strong and they were always accommodating in helping us book taxi's and excursions. The hotel itself is postcard beautiful, with a modest number of unique rooms scattered around traditional courtyards. Our room had it's bed located within an arched alcove looking up to the mezzanine bathroom with roll-top bath, it was both special and comfortable. The only note being the lack of door or curtain on the loo itself albeit out of site, which was an interesting quirk. We used the restaurant for our evening meals as the food was some of the best that we have experienced anywhere including many seafood and lamb dishes. For us, the inclusive breakfast was a small buffet with some pastries, bread and cheeses, not as much variety here but adequate nonetheless. There was WIFI available in the hotel lobby and two small swimming pools for swimming as well as a hammam where you can request various spa treatments. Dar Dhiafa is located in Erriadh, which is a 10-15 minute taxi journey from Houmt Souk, 20 from Midoun and also from the tourist zone where the numerous large chain hotels are located along the eastern beach front.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for it's beauty, charm, staff, food and comfort during our stay there, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and lovely.

Having stayed here out of peak season we were lucky enough to pretty much have the hotel to ourselves. Beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms, helpful / unobtrusive service, tranquil place to stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

Probably the best place I've ever stayed! Serenely beautiful. Decorated in a minimalist Moroccan-style, if that makes any sense. Rooms vie for the title of most beautiful. So do the bathrooms. Attention to detail in every possible way. A Moroccan pool in its own courtyard. An excellent restaurant. Unobtrusive service all round. If you are going to Djerba, you HAVE to include at least one night here. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Perfect place for a romantic get-away or a trip with friends. Incredible service, beautiful rooms, AMAZING food (best food I've had in Tunisia and I've been here about 11 months), incredible location. If where you stay is important to you, you should seriously consider this place. Really the most wonderful experience.

There are 14 rooms grouped around several courtyards. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The only thing that might deserve some explenation is the architectural decision not separate the bathroom by a door. Breakfast was OK, staff very friendly. Unless you are prepared to drive to town or zone touristique for dinner, you'll have to eat at the hotel's restaurant. However, this is not a drawback, we enjoyed th food.

What a find! It ticked all the boxes for our weeks holiday on the island of Djerba. As the heavy front doors of the hotel opened, you knew you were somewhere rather special.Sunlight filled the beautiful courtyard, spilling over with bouganvila and we were met by charmimg staff.Everywhere was most tasteful, best described as simple understated elegance.Being a somewhat fussy vegetarian( who doesn't eat fish either) I was slighty concerned about what the menu had in store.I need not have worried as the chef made me the most delicious and unusual delights at every meal, infact after a few days I simply left it to him and I was never disappointed. He is a true artist when it comes to food it was superb, and my husband also agreed (he is not a veggie')
and often enjoyed the catch of the day!

We came home refreshed, relaxed and sorry to leave our little haven and can thoroughly recommend Dar Dhiafa.
