“great hotel”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

we went to this hotel 8th june for two weeks.we were in room 3408 all refurbished pool view huge bed.the staff are very friendly.animation team do a great job,if you dont want to join in they dont pester you.the food becomes repetitive but a good choice every day for breakfast lunch and evening meal.we tipped the waiter at the beginning of the holiday 10 dinar about 4 pound and our table was waiting for us every lunchtime and evening.if you are happy to relax by the pool and beach then this holiday is for you.if you want karoke bars discos and noise then choose elsewhere.we could not fault this hotel you get what you pay for.we went to the crocodile park 15 dinars per adult to get in and 3 dinars for the taxi.went on the pirate boat trip good fun on the boat.a holiday is what u make it. would go back again

Room Tip: block three is the best block to stay in and ask for a pool view

After reading all the negative reviews we were totally put of going here , how wrong could we have been , i sometimes wonder if we were even in the same hotel .

On arrival at 1 in the morning , a very speedy check in , shown straight to our rooms with a bottle of water , we could have gone for food , but went to bed .

Rooms were a great size , we had an extra bedroom for the children , which was perfect , the maids did a great job of keeping it clean , i have seen some people complaining about not having sheets changed , well there is a card in the info pack that you leave out on the bed the days you would like the bedding changed . Ŵe were in block 3**** which was lovely and quiet and just outside is the wonderful pool .

The pool is amazing the children spent all there time in it , during the day all the activities are based in the pool area , the entertainment staff are second to none , they work so hard , and had us laughing all the time . Cherlur and manusa how ever you spell names , spent so much time keeping the children happy . Even the life guard had fun with the children .

The kids club was run by mono , i can not praise him enough a great little bloke and when you meet him you will see what I mean .

Food was good , always found something to eat , never went hungry , even my fussy 10 year old enjoyed the food , the kitchen staff , were so used to the children remembering what they liked for breakfast and as soon as they saw them , would cook it for them . The snack bar , this is the place to go for lunch , we ate there every lunch time , salad , pasta , sandwiches , and hot food , oh i saw a reviews stating you had to pay for chips this is untrue , they were available every day at the snack bar . Also ice lollies are available from the snack bar during the afternoon . All the staff would join you for meals and be polite and friendly . Oh I must also add , people said there were no desserts , omg i have never seen so many all different every lunch and evening along with ice cream and lots of fruits , the strawberries and cherries are the best i have ever tasted .

If you want to book trips go see yousef , he will be more than happy to help you and at good prices , we went on a horse riding trip , my daughter got frighten by the horse and he even came out to the place we were to pick her up and take her back to the hotel , now thats service for you .

Go have your photo done at the sunset location the photo people are lovely and we came home with some lovely beautiful photos as well as lasting memories .

I don't have a bad thing to say about this place , we had 2 weeks of rest and relaxation , you don't have to join in the fun , the staff dont hassle you , but its fun to join in on some days .

Loved in so much rebooking for next year

Room Tip: Rooms in block 31*** are quiet

It is nice to see other guests are enjoying this hotel as much as we have on our three separate visits. Keep up the good work Adnen, Adel and all the staff at Vincci Djerba Resort. We hope to see you all again soon ;-)

Still one of the most amazing pools we have come across.

Room Tip: Pool facing or if you budget allows the premier suite.

The Good- We upgraded to priorty Club and I have to say it was worth every penny. The room was lovely had all mod cons and looked out over the quiet pool and the beach. The air con wasn't great and we had a bit of a problem with the shower leaking on floor but overall very comfortable.
The Bad - The food was a bit of a mixed bag but generally could find something at each meal to fill up on that was until I got the dreaded tummy bug which stayed with me for over a week. Very difficult to say what caused it could have been fruit/salad washed in local water or unclean glasses. Thought I had been really careful though and I wasn't the only guest with that problem.
We booked one trip but I have to say I wouldn't recommend the trips there really isn't a great deal to see on the island it really is a chill out holiday.
There are wild dogs on the beach which do venture into the hotel grounds and although they seemed very sweet I'm not sure if I had children that I would have been too happy.
The Ugly - Cats...all over the place but the worse was that we found ourselves unable to eat in the outside restaurant as one of the male cats would come into the restaurant and spray on peoples legs or up table legs...disgusting
What really spoilt our holiday and left a lasting memory was the poor service we received from 90% of the reception staff they seriously need to be trained in good manners and how to give good service. One member of staff by the name of Farcel was sooooooooo rude to most people, and I really wonder why he is in a job he obviously hates so much.

Room Tip: Upgrade to priority club worth every penny

We booked this on a late deal and after reading some of the other reviews, we too were slightly nervous at that we had just booked.

We couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were some of the friendliest people I've ever met.

I didn't encounter any queues for food or drinks, and there was a fantastic selection. Even my 4 year old Son ate very well. There really is something for everyone.

The room was clean and spacious and made up daily. We stayed for 2 weeks and everyday there would be swans/crocodiles/hearts etc all made out of towels waiting for you.

We did a couple of day trips and in particular the djerba pirate boat trip was stunning. A trip out on a boat with music and dancing and a traditional Tunisian lunch was also included.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, and my Son has already asked of we can go again next year.

I booked this holiday on a late deal and after reading the reviews was really worried about what we was going to end up turning up to. DO NOT listen to any of the bad reviews! The hotel is absolutley stunning.

After arriving at 11.30 we was given food to eat, then shown up to our rooms! The photos do not do this place any justice, the rooms were huge, clean and the aircon was working fine. Every room comes with its own balcony, and ours had a stunning view. The bathrooms are also big with a shower and a bath! The maids did a fanstastic job of tiding our room every day, and leaving swans or flowers on the bed for you to walk into.

I cant even begin to express how amazing the animation team are! MOKA, CHALEUR, BIBO, ANIS etc. They did everything they could to go out there way to help you out, they were always helpful and willing to do what they could for you. Its crazy that they work the longest hours in that heat and are still buzzing with energy and smiles to make your holiday worth while. I dont think these guys get enough credit for what they actually do, they have a huge range of activites of all ages for everybody to join in, and are always making it quirky and funny for you to enjoy. The evenings they are happy enough to have a dance with ANYBODY, never leaving anyone out. They are not too pushy, and know when you say no it means no. Without this animation team the hotel would be still great but no where near as amazing as it really is! If im honest the animation team defenitly made our holiday the best it could be! such a shame were back in England without them!

The pool was absolutely huge! it was clean, and we often saw someone there checking the chemical levals in the pool. We went at the start of june and was informed the day we left which was horrible they start to do pool parties in the night time! they just never stop thinking of ways to entertain people! The bar at the pool was always managed by someone, the nicest bar man would have to be Rammi, he was always there chatting away helping you out, collecting the glasses & keeping the bar very tidy and presentable.

The food was fine for anyone to eat, there was also a huge selection for you to choose from. The main restaurant was always stocked with a massive selection of food, the waiters were so quick at taking your plates away when you went to get dessert your table was already clean and ready for you. If you ask for a glass of wine, do not expect a glass you get a whole bottle! There was four pumps for beer and 8 pumps for fizzy drinks so there was never a que! There was always a substancial amount of plates, glasses & cutlery.

I really cant express how amazing this holiday was, i have the worst holiday blues going! Me & my partner enjoyed it so much after being home for 3 days were already booking it for next year. We are both between 20 & 22, and there was a nice even mix of young & old groups there. I am shocked at the service and how much we enjoyed the holiday for the price we paid!

No photos do this place justice as to how lovely it really is. Me and my partner came here for honeymoon and could not fault a thing. The entertainers, bar staff, waiters and cleaners are all so friendly. Go find yousef for a reasonable price for quad rides, camel or horse ride. He will take care of you. There is plenty of variety for everyone here for food and drink. Don't be put off by any of the poor comments and come see for yourself how great it is here.
