Irish Clock Guest House
Ranked #11 of 110 Udon Thani B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Initially I was booked in for 8 nights but ended up extending my stay to 13 nights while I was there.

The clock is positioned well and its a good location with everything you need very close like the night markets, bus station, central plaza and food stalls and for anyone thinking of staying here it’s on a street with all small bars but these don't distract you from staying there.

The security is great and if you have a motor bike it is well protected. I parked my bike out the front every night and knowing that there was someone to watch over it was a huge comfort.

The rooms are large, very clean, comfortable, great King size beds that are changed frequently and serviced daily, huge bathroom clean towels and sheets.

I had the same breakfast most morning with good substantial western food which was great because you could go out and feed yourself full of wonderful Thai food but have that comfort in the mornings. Good price and plenty of it and great quality!!

The owners Trevor and Anne are fantastic and always very helpful along with their staff who are learning English so be patient. :-)

I left my Father to live there for the remainder of his life and I believe that Trevor organised some English style Pork Sausage for him. Thanks zills Trevor. I owe you one!!

During my time there I had a look at my alternatives. Top Mansion, Home etc and I chose the right place. Top mansion was right nest to nightclubs.

I could come and go when I please without feeling locked in.

The only negative thing would be to get some new towels Trevor. The ones you have are two small for us lads.

Great stay.

Room Tip: I would think any room would be ok. I was in a front room which was a little noisy at times but I lo...

stayed at the irish clock guest house for one night after the reviews on trip advisor

position wise its a good location -- short walk to the bus station central plaza and the night market

food stalls all around the area

for anyone thinking of staying here -- its on a street with all small bars so if your not into the thai night life --then find another area away from here

but on saying that -- never felt hassled --no one in your face or hawkers hanging off you everyone just went about their buisiness

rooms were large -- bathroom big -- bed fantastic -- towels sheets etc -- all clean and crisp

breakfast -- food good and a big portion for the price

the only negative was the other guests inconsiderate behaviour early in the morning that created a racket which resulted in not much sleep -- but it was sorted out by the owner

Have stayed here many times over the last 4 years , I have used TA for reviews of hotels all over Asia but never felt the need to register for a review myself until now !!! The Review below ( Heart someone ) can only be a hatchet job devised the discredit Trevor , Perhaps the Odd couple should have put their teeth back in when eating the wonderful giant yorky ( eaten 4 or 5 times by myself ) As for the Staff .... they are not the best English speakers but they are always happy and polite , one particular girl is " bigger" up top than most Thai Ladies ... perhaps the Hearts ( less) reviewer should try and get away from the blinkered belief that a friendly girl is a bar girl .
Trevor and his wife Ann have improved 10 fold on the prev owners who did a fair job but lacked any charachter , The music nights ( Tue Fri and Now Sunday ) are excellent, Trevor and Ann may have lost the odd couple but there are many coming back in their stead ... well done Trevor and Ann and there lovely staff.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiter and have giant balcony . Ask about the Secret Special !

My friend and I have always eaten at the Irish Clock and marvelled at the delicious food! but our meal in the clock on the 26 March 2012 was dissapointing to say the least! on the second day we decided to eat in the clock and once again the meals were again dissapointing. I had the yorkshire pud filled with sausages and gravy and the whole thing was like chewing rubber, my friends meal was the same, a steak and kidney pudding as flat as a pancake it looked as if it had been in the microwave for 10 mins. The ambiance has also gone, no music nights and instead of the nice friendly staff you now have girls who do not care about there cliental. It took 10 mins before anyone came to take our order? and the staff would not have been out of place in one of the girly bars. Sorry Trevor you have just lost two ardent fans! I just hope you can turn it around like it used to be.

A few huge rooms above an Irish Pub in the center of Udon Thani. The value is terrific, particularly as 100 baht towards breakfast is included in the room price. The food in the restaurant is likewise, excellent.

We stayed at the Irish Clock for 4 days in January .After struggling up the stairs with our luggage we found our room spacious, light and spotless. We quickly forgot about the stairs as the third floor room was tops. The meals were excellent especially the Sunday roast and the delicious rice pudding! The location is great, close to the nightmarkets and bazaar and other large , pleasant shopping areas.

Room Tip: room 207 is great even if stairs are a bit trying
