Hospitality plus!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 28, 2012
Came for 2 days, ended up staying for 8. What an enchanting, good old fasioned family style home-stay.although it was the quiet, leafy setting that brought me out here on the outskirts of town, it was the warm and genuine hospitality of hosts Tony, Chris and Jet that kept me here. I would have left the Udon area much earlier if I hadn't discovered this little oasis. If you need to be in Udon, do yourself a favour and rent a car, take a drive through the lush jungle and green rice paddies 'til you find this friendly little homestay....Justin from Australia

Just a gem!
Tony, Chris and Sureenat were marvelous hosts. Genuinely helpful in any and every way..
The rooms were comfortable, the food plentiful and DELICIOUS...all this in a romantic, relaxing setting.
Great place to unwind!
I'll be back!

Home stay is a true Gem. Set near a beautiful lake about 20km outside of Udon this place is perfect for some relaxation and homely feeling. You hosts Tony and Christine will go as far out of their way as humanly possible to make sure you are happy here.

The food is exceptionally good. Be prepared to put on some weight if you go here for too long. Everything is cooked fresh with great attention to details. I stayed in the Garden View room which was very nice. It is made pretty much completely out of teak and is comfy with everything you could ever need (DVD, TV, fridge, coffee maker, AC, large veranda).

I will definitely return here one day and I very much look forward to it.

Absolutely no negatives.

Thank you for a great stay!.. superb!

Room tip: There are only 3 rooms here. The front Garden Room was mine and it was beautiful. All made from teak wood.

Romantic hide-away, family get-away and solo travelers’ recharge. STC is all of these and more. Add to this your hosts, Sureenat, Tony and Chris (STC) and you have an inexpensive stay that is out of this world. Nothing is a problem from the hiring of a vehicle, information on places to visit and even a special dinner. STC is a rare find of hospitality, comfort and friendliness to the extent that you are not a guest but more part of the STC family. I would, without reserve, recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Undon Thani. I will certainly be staying there on my next visit.

Room tip: Wooden Bungalow the best by far.

Do yourself a favor and stay a few nights at this wonderful new homestay in Udon Thani. My girlfriend and unfortunately only stayed one night. Very cheap and had comfortable beds, larger tvs, wifi, and big bathrooms. Free bikes to ride to see the sunset and alot of great advice. Told us how to get to Laos and avoid some of the scams that can take place at the border. The food was the highlight for sure! Five star quality service and food! When we return to Thailand we are going to go out of our way to return to Udon Thani just so we can return to this homestay. Just look at the reviews, I don't know how one person could write that is was overpriced? It's like $15 for a brand new place! AMAZING! Can't wait to return

Room tip: All 3 rooms are similar

We loved our time at STC, and it was far beyond our expectations in every way. We stayed in the garden view room which is lovely and has everything you could want. The room was like a little cottage, spacious, with a large bathroom and spotless. The bungalows look wonderful, and we'd love to try them in the future.

The area is fantastic, you are a little outside Udon Thani, and it is peaceful and beautiful. The homestay is near a lake with incredible sunsets, where you can watch locals fish in the traditional long boats. We took them up on the offer of a neighborhood tour and we're so glad we did. They showed us a neighbor who makes bamboo baskets, another who weaves beautiful tapestries, and showed us a dragon fruit farm and the local wat with a beautiful teak Buddha. It's was so interesting to meet the local Thais and see the village.

The service we had was unparalleled! They are true hosts, who are lovely and generous and make you feel at home. Tony is an incredible chef who trained in Europe, and made us the most delicious meals! The cuisine was a highlight.

This homestay is a gem, and should not be missed if you will be in this area, it's a destination in itself! We loved our time there, and are certain you will too!
