“Trisara is superb”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Our stay at Trisara over Christmas holiday was superb. The room, despite being Trisara's most basic offering, was one of the best rooms we've ever had (even compared to suites at other 5 star resorts around the world). The private villa pool was clean, the bathroom was lovely and enormous with both indoor and outdoor showers, and (importantly) the air conditioning was very good. Next time we would likely try a larger villa, just to have a bit more outdoor space for eating and lounging, but this is certainly the most stunning "basic" room we have ever seen.

We arrived late on Christmas day, but the staff was extremely accommodating, offering to bring us directly to the room in case we were tired and offering to let us change the day of an in-villa BBQ we had booked for that night (in case we were tired and preferred a faster meal in the restaurant). We chose to keep the BBQ, and it was fantastic - no fewer than 3 people prepared, cooked and served our meal on the deck. They even set up a grill on the deck! The food was excellent, especially the prawns and Phuket lobster. It was a very nice, private Christmas dinner. The restaurant food was also excellent, at both the deck and the seafood restaurant, and breakfast was incredible (plus, it was nice to have the option of breakfast room service, included in the room rate).

We arranged several activities through the resort. A half-day boat trip to Phang Nga Bay was not inexpensive, but the same price as any private boat charter in Phuket and worth every penny - the private boat was a million times nicer than any of the other boats we saw in the bay, the transfers to/from the marina were seamless, and the views of the islands were stunning. Plus, Trisara put together a very nice picnic lunch for us, which was thoughtfully laid out during an island stopover (including a table and pillows for lounging).

We took advantage of the different watersports options several times, and they were a great deal of fun! Kayaks were great and we were able to explore some nearby beaches. We also arranged for an hour long snorkle trip at the rock island off the shore of Trisara, which was amazing, tons of fish (and not too busy if you go in the morning). I accidentally swam into a rock and cut my leg, and when I returned to Trisara the watersports staff were amazing - they very carefully washed, sanitized and bandaged my cuts. They were extremely gentle and thorough, as if they were trained nurses! I was extremely impressed with the care that they took to make sure my cut was fully washed and bandaged.

We went to the spa for facials and the four hands massage. The spa facilities were beautiful, some of the nicest we've seen, with views of the ocean from every room we saw. The massage was easily the best either of us have ever had, extremely relaxing and thorough. The therapists were perfectly choreographed, they must train for a very long time to be so perfectly in sync! The facial was a tiny bit disappointing, since the therapist spent a great deal of time washing her hands and moving around the room compared to what I am used to for an hour long facial (additionally, like at many Asian spas, there were no extractions, so do not book a facial expecting this). In the future I would avoid the facials, but would absolutely recommend the 4 hands massage and would try any other service at the spa - the setup is gorgeous (we watched the sun set from our spa suite between services) and the massage was, again, absolutely incredible.

The best part of Trisara, other than the stunning location and rooms, is the service. The manager and staff go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We had a few minor nits, probably owing to the fact that we were there during the busiest time of year - welcome letter in our room was for a different person, library staff in the evening was on a personal phone call for close to 5 minutes before acknowledging us, restaurant made a mistake and took a very long time to deliver one person's lunch when we had said that we needed to eat quickly in order to get to the airport - but these things happen at every fine resort, especially during the busiest week of the year, and at Trisara they were not only fixed promptly, but were overcompensated for. The daytime library staff (who act as a concierge of sorts) were extremely helpful, and when the restaurant was very late getting out my lunch on our day of departure, the restaurant manager not only boxed my food for me but personally drove me up to reception in a buggy (and in addition did not charge for the item, a delicious veggie pizza).

The service at Trisara even extended to our departure. Trisara staff checked us in online and delivered our boarding passes to our room the morning of our flight (they even chose good seats for us, since we hadn't previously chosen any). Once the resort car dropped us off at the airport, we were immediately swept up by two uniformed Trisara employees at the airport, who took care of checking our bags for us and brought us all the way up to immigration, even informing us where to find the lounge once inside the terminal. Phuket airport is small but overwhelming, and was very busy on this particular day, so the airport service was extremely helpful and memorable.

Overall, Trisara was amazing from the second we stepped off the plane in Phuket to the second we stepped back into the terminal. Even the tiniest service glitches were not only fixed, but were overcompensated for. I imagine that any week other than Christmas week, there would not even be glitches. The room was stunning, the number of activities and dining options that they offer is impressive and everything we arranged through the hotel was great.

While there are many nice resorts in Phuket, I can't imagine that any meet the service standards of Trisara, and certainly none have basic rooms with private pools and ocean views. Our only complaint was that we hadn't booked a longer stay - we hope to be back sooner rather than later!

This Resort was flawless. We didn't go for the top end suite but the room was fantastic, beautifully appointed and a pool with privacy *wink* Staff were terrific and anticipated everything before we'd thought of it.Definitely a Resort for that special getaway.

My husband & I stayed here for 9 nights in December. It exceeded both our expectations. We absolutely loved our sea facing pool villa. Complete luxury and privacy.
The beach barbeque event was fantastic. never seen food like it. The seafood restaurant was amazing too. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef ..... We also loved the daily complimentary 10 mins neck, back, shoulder & head massage at the spa reception. Never had a massage like it. The spa itself was fantastic too. We had several treatments which were bliss.
Antoine Melon, the resort manager spoke to the guests daily at breakfast time which I thought was a really nice touch especially as he is so handsome;)

Thank you Trisara, one day we will return

Happy New Year to all the staff

Trisara is, without question, the most stunning resort I've been to. The pool villa was beautiful and totally private. Everything about it, from the friendly staff, to the food, wine list and facilities, kept us in awe from beginning to end. On arrival we were given a guided tour of the resort and our fabulous villa. Next, down to a champagne lunch, where we met the general manager, a delightful Australian named Anthony Lark. He takes the time to talk to all of the guests, which makes you feel very welcome. I had a "4-hand massage" at the spa, which was both sensual and relaxing. id definitely recommend that one. The only downside? We were only there for 2 nights. We are already planning our return visit.

Room Tip: The beach view pool villas are a short walk from everything you need in the resort.

One of the best resorts that I have been to in years. The accomodation, facilities, dining and overall experience was unforgettable. The rooms are impeccable and very private. This is definitely a resort for adults/couples and not one for kids. Also, if you are looking for a swimming beach you may want to venture somewhere else unless you are OK with a 15min drive (about 300 baht) to a nearby swimming beach. The one at the resort is rocky and more fit for kayaking or snorkeling.

Just a quick note to say that we LOVED the resort!

Excellent service, very friendly and unobtrusive, very professional and world class.

The restaurants were fantastic and we tried the new seafood restaurant that was sublime.

Can definitely recommend private beach BBQ - that was one of the highlights of the trip... also the private boat they organised for a tour of Phang Nga bay!

Rooms were great with awesome views, modern touches and excellent housekeeping.

One of the most convenient aspects I noticed is that you don't even need to have any thai bhat to enjoy your holiday. Everything is just seamless.

When we got back to Oz, realised that I needed some receipts and they were more than happy to oblige and send them to us via airmail!

Cannot recommend highly enough! We will be back.

Villas are stunning with very private personal infinity pool and breathtaking views. Large living area and bathroom with 2 sinks, large bath and separate inside and outside showers. Lots of nice touches. Beautiful private beech and rocks keep hawkers and jet skiers away. Beach side restaurants beautiful setting. West facing so amazing sunsets. Food very good with attentive and willing staff. Minor niggle at breakfast serving hot food before fruit cereal etc finished but re-served freshly repaired without issue. Evening meals excellent with separate seafood restaurant. Drinks especially wine pricey. Management make themselves known and helpful. Gym very good and we had 2 visits to the spa which is first class, lovely surroundings and ambience.
We booked one of the private boat trips through the hotel which was expensive but stunning. However the picnic provided by Trisara was disappointing.
Overall difficult to imagine a more enjoyable, relaxing and romantic setting for couples.

Room Tip: Some villas can be a steep walk to the facilities but compensated by better views. Staff will ferry...
