Living on Phuket this restaurant is one of our favourites and consequently on our weekly visiting list for several reasons:
1. The location is in the middle of a forrest and you will seat 5m above ground in the middle of the trees. By this you have an excellent view on nature, birds, butterflies and the nearby lake.
2. Even it is close to Bang Pae waterfall it's somehow away from the tourist crowds, but loved by the locals
3. Whatever you will choose from the big menue is excellent. Our favourites are the spicy Lemon grass salad and chicken/fish in Pandanus leaves
4. Expect less than 500 THB for a full meal incl. drinks for two persons
5. Service is a little "Thai style", but always very friendly and dedicated

A lot easier to find than the previous review suggests. Situated right at the entrance to Bang Pae waterfall and the Gibbon Centre, the restaurant has wonderful views over a small lake and the vast forest beyond.
The fried fish in 3-sauces was delicious. The 3 different flavours of the sauces added great variety to the meal and were a real treat.

Its a great place to visit over a weekend for lunch - only 30 minutes drive from the Laguna, partly through lovely rubber tree plantations. Affable ownner ( nick name Ball) and his wife Nid are great hosts.

A couple of starters suggested by Ball - Shrimp cake and chicken sesame were done to perfection and ideal with beer. The salads - spicy papaya and spicy mushroom were delicious. The most outstanding item was shrimp with red curry. Comlimentary banana balls rolled in castor sugar provided a nice finishing touch.

Downstairs on our way to the car park we bought fresh Rambutan and Long Kong (similar to longan) freshly picked from the surrounding trees. The total bill for three of us (plus two pre-teen kids happy with chicken with cashew nuts) was 1,365 baht ($45) without service charge.

This delighful place and its setting at the edge of a natural park make a nice change from the air conditioned restaurants at the five-star Laguna hotels. The food is tastier at a fraction of the price.

I believe this restaurant to be the best kept culinary secret in Thailand ! We went on recommendation of my Dad who told us it was his favourite restaurant in Thailand.

Directions: Head North from Heroine's monument up the East side of the Island. Following signs to the Gibbon Rehabilitation project and the Bang Pae waterfall you turn left off the main road. This leads you down a narrow road. Just before the entrance to the National park, on the left, on the corner is a detached, pavilion style building with parking. Inside head upstairs to the circular upper deck restaurant.

The 360 degree view, of Phuket's last remaining rain forest, rising before you is breathtaking. Looking out across a small lake, where swallows swoop across the water feeding, huge butterflies move amongst the flowers and beyond the lake is the rainforest. It's so beautiful you forget why you're there and is utterly distracting, until the food arrives !

The food in this largely undiscovered restaurant is quite simply the most delicious food we've ever tasted anywhere in Thailand. Those who compile lists of Asia's best restaurants should throw away their guides, having never found this place.

Traditional Thai food cooked with so much skill and flair producing a depth of flavour I've never before experienced, even in Asia's so called top 50.

The owners wife & mother prepare food that is so well balanced & utterly delicious, even Thailand's best restaurants can't compete. And the prices ? The same as any local restaurant. We ate a meal for two with 3 courses and drinks for £15.

The crab curry is the best I've ever tasted. During 2 visits we tried many dishes, each dish seemed better than the last. Nothing disappointed, everything was amazing.

With views so breathtaking, the food stunning, how can I eat anywhere again ? I hope they receive the recognition they deserve :)

Please note, last orders around 6pm, it's a lunchtime or early evening visit.
