“Perfect day trip”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We booked the trip online about a month before. We had some issues paying with their system and had to email a form to them, but it wasn't too painful. On the day of, we were picked up from our hotel in Patong and whisked away to the boat, about an hour drive away. We were quickly boarded and on our way. I get sea sick, so this slow boat was really the only way I could get out on the water. Combined with the very smooth seas, I did fine all day. The crew did a good job bring us food and drinks regularly, which is all free except the beer. The food was much better than I expected from a boat galley. The cruise around Phang-Nga bay was beautiful, stopping at James Bond island, the gypsy sea village, some caves, and in a random spot to swim. Because of the low water level, you have to get of the boat and take a longtail to each of these. The guide from the boat comes with you, and escorts you around the various attractions. Because my fiance and I don't enjoy group tours, we headed out on our own. The guide was easily convinced to give us a time to be back and let us go on our way. Overall, a great trip.

“Very relaxing day sailing!”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

We joined the June Bahtra and there was 13 of us on board. It was very relaxing. Totallu different to our PhiPhi Island day on the spped boat and snorkelling etc. This is more relaxing cruising/sailing with a swim at he end. Very relaxing day, just what we needed after a busy week. Went on a long boat to James Bond Island, great photo's in the cave, though the island is very crowded, who would think you could get so many markets on such a small island :)
We then went to a Muslim Fishing Village. Very expensive shopping here compared to mainland markets, same stuff, though if you wan tto support the locals, it's still cheap so did spend a few dollars.
Lunch on board was yummy and the day was well worth it. Totally recommend sailing on this junk :)

“What a glorious experience !”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

I've done a Phang Nga cruise the usual way, and that was fun with a big group of young people, but to cruise on the Jit Jai in comfort with my husband was the most relaxing boat trip we've done anywhere. We were picked up from our resort in Kamala and driven to the marina on the far north-eastern shore of Phuket, then returned at day's end.

This is the largest of the June Bahtra line of converted junks, with padded lounging area beneath a shady canopy ensuring a pleasant trip which is not a test of endurance. The pleasant crew coped rally well with the predominantly German-speaking guests - the 3 Aussies + 2 Americans being in the cultural minority. Lunch cooked fresh in the galley was delicious & plentiful, enjoyed with amazing views.

We disembarked onto a long-tail boat for the trip to James Bond Island, then on to Koh Paynee, the floating Gypsy village, where we were artfully guided through the maze and back again. The highlight was possibly the stop to call down the Brahminy kites from their island eyrie - dozens of these beautiful raptors swooped & dived for food as we watched in delight and clicked away with our cameras.

Asian Oasis is the place to find this tour - they're Bangkok-based, and information about them in Phuket seems to be limited, so this is their website - http://asian-oasis.com/product/june-bahtra-cruises-the-spirit-of-phang-nga-bay/

“Highly recommend. Best way to cruise the Bay.”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

Converted Chinese Junk with great facilities. Towels supplied. Lunch & snacks provided cooked fresh on board & plenty of it. Bottled water also provided free. A beautiful day. Ok so was slower than a speedboat trip but Wow, we can't stop recommending it. We also went to Sea Gypsy Village by long boat, James Bond Island & plenty of time at each. Anchored in the Bay for a swim off the boat.
Hotel pickup & return. A must do experience
