Pesto opened in March and within two weeks became one of the most popular dining outlets in the area with both locals (Thai and expats) and tourists.
The fantastic thing about Pesto is that the Chef (Chu) is the Executive Chef from upscale Sarojin Resort in Khao Lak. He is also European trained and has worked in France for five years. He creates delicious food, presented well and charges realistic prices.
Phuket seldom offers such value for money so Pesto is a welcome addition to the many dining options we all enjoy.
Particular favourites of mine are: beef moussaka - 129 baht per plate and very tasty, the asparagus and crab meat soup - 89 baht. Chicken and fish dishes range from 129 to 199 and the beef steak is 299 and lamb chops that rival any that I have seen served at five star resorts in the area are around 349 baht. I am yet to sample the lamb and beef - but friends of mine have and they looked amazing.
Guests can also take their own wine in and are charged no corkage - so more change for a bigger tip.
I would also be honest to say that although the food has been great most times I have visited, there has been slight inconsistencies, but I think you can forgive them of this considering the price and that they are a brand new restaurant.
