Went for a family meal. The Hotel/Restaurant is situated at the beginning of a development which is underway, but unfinished, so it’s not the easiest place to find. They seemed aware we had a reservation, but ‘too many chiefs’ had difficulty seating
or welcoming us. The menu looks good. Essentially it’s chaotic, aperitifs took an age and the G & T was pretentious and uninspiring. The food arrived intermittently, no logic or rational, bits turning up randomly. We ordered for two children under 6 yrs of age, they’d have struggled to finish the huge portions they got. The very ordinary wine in all but price was offered as if Chateau quality, unnecessarily OTT.By the time we reached the dessert stage, the staff had changed shift, a bit confusing for us. My main of Curried prawn, had two prawns on it....you can buy a bucket of shrimp in the market for a £ !!!!
The other dishes were well presented and ok, the garlic stack was good.
Apparently this place which has a beautiful lily pond setting is very popular and trendy...I’m mystified as to why? It was ok, a very solid ok,but chaos reigned.
