We picked Twin Palms after spotting it on SLH site and some studies on the trip reviews on this site.

My boyfriend and I spent 5 days in Twin Palms Phuket. It has been too short when we realized it on the day we check out the hotel.

Originally we booked a Grand Deluxe Palm Room, but with my SLH membership, we got a free upgrade to suite. Which I would say is twice as bigger as the Deluxe room and very comfortable. We got a living room, bar area, bedroom, big dressing room, big bath room, and a huge balcony where we also enjoyed a lot of time there. There are two flat TV's in the room and we hardly had time to turn those on.

The hotel is with detailed touch. As frequent travelers, both of us are very happy with the hotel facility, atmosphere, foods, and drinks. The service is not consistent though. Some staffs are very friendly and helpful, but some are not. I guess they might be too busy in the Catch Club and the service level dropped.

Do go to the Catch Club by the beach. We almost went to the beach and stayed at the lounge area whole day. There are lounge seating area, lounge beds, or beach chairs to choose from. We picked the lounge area with L-shape sofa and a lounge table. Very good atmosphere for couples to enjoy some rooance with drinks and nice sea view. Foods in the Catch Club are yummy. Don't miss out the BBQ night dinner in the Catch Club as well. It's worth the money for the foods you get. Good quality sea foods and steak.

The pool side lounge bed is also great. Very relax and prefect for couples. Yet, we still stay more time at the beach side as i personally like the beach club more.

It was a very good stay in Twin Palms. Will we come back again? My answer is definitely.

We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel at the end of our Phuket honeymoon. This is an absolutely fantastic hotel. We arrived and were greeted with welcome drinks and a description of the hotel - where to find breakfast, beach club etc and then shown to our hotel. We chose a Grand Deluxe Lagoon View Room which did not disappoint. Gorgeous room with a giant king bed, huge bathroom with seperate shower and bath including full size products. Both aircon and fan in the room and an outside fan on our deck which was complete with a seat and day bed. The hotel is kept in pristine condition with a beautiful main pool and a network of lagoon pools which were for the direct pool access rooms. One note - if you want to spend time by the pool. Get your sunbed EARLY as there aren't a great deal of them and they do go quick. We did find though that around 3pm there would be vacant ones so we tended to just spend our afternoons by the main pool and chose to spend our 'pool time' from the comfort of our own deck. The area is great. If you enjoy a bit more of a quieter atmosphere than Patong, this is it. Outside of our hotel we crossed the road over a small park that is lit with lanterns at night to find a heap of beachside restaurants - the majority on the sand. Really great pricing for food. It would cost us around $20 for entree, main and drinks which was great. We loved Audy's and Noks. There is also a little bar at the very far end of the beach - a little shack which is magnificant to watch the sun go down. A couple of little shops are around and a mini mart and a few tailors but other than that its more of a location to relax on the beach and do nothing. Oh, you can get massages for 400baht on the beach for one hour which are divine. You can also borrow books and dvds from the library at the hotel free of charge and there is free internet. As we were on our honeymoon we came back the first night to find 2 dozen long stemmed red roses and the bath filled with rose petals. They also turn down your room every night with choccies! To sum up we absolutely loved it here and I would definately return without a doubt. All the little things are accounted for like a note from the manager in your room and a welcome home email. These little things I think are nice in a boutique hotel. For what you pay I think its definately worth it. STAY HERE!

Just returned from a ten night stay at the twin palms. Overall it was great but not as great as we were expecting…the hotel is beautiful, the location fabulous and the rooms are great. We had booked a grand deluxe room on the upper floor (I would recommend this as the ground floor rooms don’t have as much privacy) but after several room problems and eventually speaking to a manager we were upgraded to a junior suite. Both rooms were fantastic, obviously the suite excelled in comparison to the deluxe room but I would have no problem staying in the grand deluxe room if I were to return.

As other reviews have stated the pool area and catch beach club were fantastic, my only complaint is that there are not enough loungers at the beach or the pool and people were reserving them with their belongs before going for their breakfast and not returning for a couple of hours. Despite the 30 min non use hotel policy we had to wait over an hour and half for a lounger at the beach.

The food at the hotel is outstanding, there was a good selection at breakfast and the food at Catch was excellent. The hotel cocktail menu was great and the cocktails expertly made and delicious. Prices were high…European prices throughout. This was our first time in Surin and this is certainly the most expensive part of Thailand we have been to in terms of eating and drinking.

The service is good but certainly not as good as I was expecting from a small luxury hotel or a Thai hotel. We have travelled all over Asia, stayed in a number of SLH hotels and this was our sixth trip to Thailand but the service at the Twin Palms wasn’t as high as we have experienced in other parts of the country.

Surin is beautiful, we hired a car from the Andaman Car hire a couple of doors up from the hotel (cheaper to hire direct than thru hotel) and explored the island and Kho Lak. After driving round the island we were sure we had made the right decision staying in Surin and the Twin Palms.

Overall we had a great stay and I can see why based on the location, the rooms, the spa, the food and drink that it’s a popular choice and if we were to return to Surin and Phuket, we would stay at the Twin Palms again.

Wonderful design, clean, functional but very sexy and cosy. Organic design at its best with lush tropical landscaping.

Stayed in a Deluxe Lagoon Room, it was a delight to step from the room into the lagoon pool or to look back into the room and see the beautiful private garden.

The bedroom was lovely with a very comfortable bed with luxurious sheets and pillows. Beautiful bathroom with views of the garden while you lather up with wonderful smelling lotions.

Housekeeping was outstanding. Many thanks for the very good service

Delicious food from breakfast and beyond. The Pool lunches were great, lovely salmon with mango salad, great tapas, juicy hamburgers. BBQ at Catch Beach Club is not be missed.

Catch Beach Club is very trendy, cool and blue, with a firey vibe in the evening.

Staff are friendly, professional, well dressed and efficient. Special thanks to the pool/restaurant staff and also Dan and Sophia.

I liked it so much, I purchased a Twimpalms Platinum Membership Card for my friend was lives in Bangkok, but I am envious that I live so far away and will not be able to return until next year.

I look forward to my next visit.

This was our second 5 night stay, and certainly won't be our last. This hotel is excellent. The Sunday brunch seems to have slipped a little in quality, but certainly not in selection/choice.

The staff are wonderful, as are the rooms and pool.

Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I stayed here in July with a girlfriend for 6 nights. This was my second trip to Twinpalms in a 12 month period and I would not hesitate to go back again. It's pure bliss. The resort is definitely more suitable for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or singles/friends looking for a quiet retreat, rather than families.

Check-in was quick and efficient and we were shown straight to our room - we were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade from a twin share Deluxe Palm Room to a Grand Deluxe, which was a very large room with a massive bathroom/dressing room and a spa tub. Delicious smelling shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser (from the hotel's day spa) were replenished daily. Daily house-keeping was always to high standards and the evening turn down service included a quick tidy up, chocolates on the pillow and the plugging in of a small anti-mosquito machine.

We had buffet breakfast included in our room rate and there was plenty of choice, both hot and cold. Service was smooth and efficient. We ate lunch by the pool most days (cooked in the hotel's main kitchen) and the food never failed to disappoint - the pad thai is one of the best I've ever had. Food and beverage staff at the hotel were always helpful, friendly and smiling. Nothing was too much trouble. The complimetary fruit skewers that were handed out by the pool each day were a nice touch too. We enjoyed the barbeque dinner at the hotel's beach front Catch Club and also found it to be a relaxing and mellow place to enjoy a couple of drinks after dinner.

The day spa at the resort is beautiful and, while on the pricey side for Thailand, still compares favourably with day spa prices in Australia. It was a great place to spend a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon. Pampering at it's best!

The Macs with free internet access in the hotel's library were an added bonus and staff working in the library were friendly and helpful and only too happy to arrange restaurant bookings or tours/day trips.

The resort's gym is reasonably well equiped with cardio equipment and weights. There are complimentary bottles of cold water available there too.

My only criticism of our whole stay was in relation to the check-out process. After we had called concierge to collect our luggage, someone from house-keeping appeared and, in our presence, checked the mini-bar contents and made sure that we had not removed the internet plugs from the room. A message was then relayed to reception that all was in order. I feel that this could have been handled more discreetly (perhaps once we were at reception paying our bill) rather than in front of us. While a minor issue, it didn't detract from our overall stay.

The main appeal with the hotel is that it is a tranquil smaller property, is tastefully decorated, has a beautiful pool area (the lounges in the water are a fantastic place to read a book and relax), great beach club and is located in the quiet area of Surin without the crowds, markets or seedy elements found in other parts of Phuket. This is a true five star resort with five star service.

Something about the hotel made it a very peaceful experience. The bed was big and really comfortable and the room had a a very cool single point control system for the lights, a/c, etc.

The bathroom had a walk in overhead shower and a separate suspended bath! - lots of glass, hardwood and stone has been used and the design and architecture make the place feel great.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming like the rest of Thailand but having stayed at 6 different hotels on this trip, the service here is superior.

The pool is 60+m long and the palm trees and cabanas mean you can find shade or sun and the design makes it feel very relaxed even when busy.

The beach area is a 5 minute walk and there are private loungers and a cool bar/ restaurant again with good food and good service.
