This comment are TERRIBLE! Please read for safety!

We booked a speed boat from Phuket to Koh Lanta for 6 adults, 2 children. We sat towards the front of the boat, all passengers were totally crammed on, with baggage everywhere.

The weather was slightly choppy and the driver went full pelt. The journey was incredibly rough and horrendous. The children cried, we had two people in their 60's, and they were in a bad way by the end of it. The driver kept on turning around and smirking at how awful all of the passengers were taking it. At one point, he had to slow down as we almost lost a bag.

It was so rough that my father in law's knee swelled up and he got an infection and had to go to hospital, it took him out for a few days and he missed new year. My legs were shot from trying to ease the landing of the boat and I could barely walk for two days.

When we arrived in Koh Lanta, a female rep and if we were told to put the elderly and children towards the back of the boat as it's dangerous for them at the front... We were not!

Anyway, we emailed Tigerline to ask if we could take the slow ferry on the journey back. They said yes, the return ferry leaves at 8am so be at their offices for 7am. Turns out their offices don't open until 9am, they did not inform anyone, they wouldn't answer any of their 5 contact numbers and we had to re-purchase tickets.

They should be ashamed of themselves, truly bad people and a bad company.

My advice: take the slower ferry to travel, do not pre-book and DO NOT use Tigerline.

They charge additional fees which are not mentioned on the ticket. If you try and talk to them about this they just ignore jou and send you away in a very rude manner.

Other people who were asking questions about the check-in were dismissed, terrible service all around.

Not enough life jackets, kids (appr. 12 yo) used to carry luggage, old boat.

If possible book with another ferry service!!

Booked tigerline ferries for island hopping around Krabi & they did not disappoint. Going on a speedboat with them was lots of fun & staff were helpful. Was good to feel in safe hands. Organised & helpful.

I booked us transfers from Hat Yai to Koh Ngai, Koh Ngai to Koh Lanta & Koh Lanta to Ao Nang including hotel drop. This is our 5th visit to Thailand so we are fairly realistic about what to expect and we were not disappointed, in fact we were fairly impressed by the efficiency of the service provided. The boats to & from Ngai were bench seat speed boats and they do shift..... we are familiar with boats and knew to fit forward to avoid the fuel fumes, tho' it can be a bit bouncier.... the boat to Ao Nang was bigger and terminal was the ferry jetty with hotel transfer by mini bus, but it all went according to schedule. On the Ao Nang boat every seat was occupied for one leg of the trip but it did not feel over crowded and at no time did I feel safety was compromised. I would use this service again.

We boarded at Koh Lanta to go to Koh Lipe. We got there safely but, the boat was very full indeed with people standing. The whole journey there was a strong smell of engine fumes/fuel which made the 3.5 hours quite uncomfortable.
