This hotel just about outperforms the 'average' bracket - the main reasons being its convenient location and reasonable rates. If visiting with a family of four, it is inexpensive enough to consider taking two rooms. You could sleep an adult and child in each, or, if traveling with older kids, mom and dad could get a little privacy (and peace and quiet!).
The level of service is 'average', while the rooms and decor aren't really anything "to write home about". However, it is reasonably clean, has an extensive car park out front and is very convenient (you can walk to a nearby Tesco-Lotus in about 5-10 minutes).
This hotel is worth considering as an option if you are planning to visit Ban Phe, which is where the boats depart for the island of Koh Samet. You could probably stay here one night, head over to Samet for the day, take the last boat back and stay here for a second night for the same cost as spending one night on the island. The rate (around 600 baht + per night, per room [probably seasonal and 'negotiable') includes a breakfast, which is fairly basic (but 'okay').More
