“High expectations, but missed the Mark”
Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

We took a package half hour Elephant ride, half hour ATV, fish Spa, snake show and monkey show. Fish Spa fine, snake show was good but as it was ending tips asked for and amount suggested, then ATV was just around the practice area for half an hour, then back and presented with a photo to purchase. The hour ride didn't sound much better from others that went on this and rough steep rocky track. Half hour Elephant ride was similar to ATV ride but was pretty special as my daughter who was on her own as there were three of us, got to 'drive', as the guide hoped off and she took his spot, then our guide hoped off and my 10yr old got to also drive. Got some great photos, asked again for a tip and handed 'a souvenir' we declined, again photos on return. Walk into monkey show and the bike the monkey rides had a basket with a sign stating 'tips for the monkey' and this is strongly pushed at the conclusion of the very short show. After the expense of the day, and the rush to do each activity with little enthusiasm from staff, it took the shine off a potentially great set up and just felt like a tourist money grab. It wasn't bad, but certainly want great and I think with a little effort and emphasis on customer service rather than production line attitude it could be a great outing.

“Would not do it again”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

The track should include a sand run not the road for 1km and then slow slow slow up and down and around steep tree rooted terrain. After 40 mins of crap terrain we drove back on the road to where they gave us free play in the mud which wasn't much good as the elephant pass through there.
Would not rate it.

“Adventure on ATV”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

If you are in for a real adventure with your family, you might want to try the following, whereby your children can have control over the ATV (150cc or 200cc).

For rides between 30 mins to 90 mins, you'll get a chance to travel in dirt road and terrains, stopping at scenic view.

Just follow the leader, whom are kind, caring and can even be your cameraman.

This place includes many other attractions, such as, elephant trekking, monkey shows, fish spa for your feet, snake shows, with hotel transfer included at fixed timing, at a charge.

“Not the best experience in Phuket”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

Elephant riding by Phuchada safari was a part of our general Phuket excursion. Again, it was OK as a part of excursion and one opportunity to ride an elephant. I can’t say that during our visit the elephants were treated badly, so this was not an issue. However, the ride itself was – well, so so. Riding elephant is not the same experience as riding a horse – you do not have feeling of or contact with an animal. That’s why this ride was one and only for us. Besides, there are lots of additional payments which finally sum up to quite an amount: tip for mahout, payment for feeding an elephant, payment for a photo which is almost forced on you, if you are with kids, you will be obliged to pay for their playing with a baby elephant, too. I hope only, that at least part of these money really goes for keeping the elephants fed and healthy and pay for their retirement sanctuary (at least so we were told).

“Horrible experience for both us and the elephants”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Almost walked out before getting on the elephant after watching the keeper in front strike the elephant on the head with a wooden stick to get it to move.

As I entered I wondered why the baby elephant had a wooden stick hanging from its ear. Also how the wooden stick was suspended? The elephants have holes cut in their ears for this purpose and the stick is hooked through it. The keepers use the stick to strike the elephant on the side of the head to get it to move.

Paid for an hour trek and after 20mins we, my girlfriend and I, asked to go back. The only reason we stayed this long was because my girlfriend had been looking forward to seeing the elephants so much.

Go to a sanctuary, other friends did, where the animals are actually cared for and loved. Places like this are only out to make money from tourists and the elephants are only used as a means to an end.

Really sad experience I would not recommend this to anyone that actually cares about animals.
