Rawai Palm Beach Resort
Ranked #11 of 43 Hotels in Rawai

Located 200m away from on a fishing beach, this hotel isn't best located for young families.
Hotel is very new and amenities average but overall an ok resort.
I like the quiet location but Rawai is not as developed as other beaches such as kata do shops few.
I'd recommend this hotel if you're on day trips & want a nice hotel to crash at.
Hotel staff don't have the best English which makes it hard sometimes.

We chose this resort for some relaxation which was good as it is in a quiet area with a beautiful pool and pool area, swim up bar and snack hut for lunches which had great meals. The resort being new was not finished in the garden areas. The rooms were not as clean and as well serviced as we would have liked. The beds were hard. It was a hard job to get an iron to the room and water was missed on two days. The housekeeping staff just couldn't understand what your request was, but the staff on the front desk were very good and helpful. As we were on the fourth floor at the back of the resort we were kept fit walking up and down the steps to the front entrance/dining room. The lift was helpful, but a bit worrying as it did stop whilst being used and was out of action a few times. In Rawai Beach there was alot of nice places to eat, but very few shops in walking distance. The beach you can't swim at, but the beach at Nai Harn was very good, clean and well serviced.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are larger with a couch and desk

Upon arrival, my friend and I were given a free upgrade to a suite which was lovely. Reception were friendly and the tour information desk was very helpful. They are clearly still developing parts of the resort but this did not interfere with our stay.

The gym was ok (a couple of treadmills, a cross trainer and some weights). The pool was amazing and there were plenty of loungers. The free wi-fi was excellent. I had a few massages while there which were awesome. They were more expensive than the places down the road but the resort was clean, relaxing and air-conditioned.

The restaurant was good. The Thai food was delicious and, being vegetarian, I requested several dishes as a vegetarian version and it was provided for me. Because of this we didn't really eat many other places for dinner as most of the local places were exclusively seafood.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but as others have commented, it was a fair distance to anywhere else and the Chinese tourist groups were rather noisy. Though I guess you can't really pick who else stays at the resort with you. As for the taxis, we bartered with everyone and managed to knock the prices down substantially.

Lovely resort, great pool but location is the downfall.

We had some electricity problems in our room when we first checked in, it took us about 4 phone calls before the issue was rectified.

The location of the resort is very far from all the action (at least 30 mins drive to Patong). There were not a lot of taxi/ tuk tuk services nearby. As a result, we were forced to use the hotel taxi service at high inflated priced. While there is a fisherman village nearby (rawai beach) they are mostly seafood restaurants and a few bars and you can't actually swim in Rawai beach.

The Thai Food at the resort was great! Again, due to the location of the resort, we were stuck eating there as well as the seafood restaurants nearby which pretty much selling the same dish.

Swim up bar was great and we had fun at the Thai cooking class.

During our stay there, there were big groups of Chinese tourist which cause a couple of issues. First was the noise level when they arrived late at night ( they actually woke us up from our sleep!!!) second, breakfast time was chaos!!

We went to this new resort for a family holiday....The rooms were lovely and the hotel generally good. Lacks any type of service apart from the lobby area. To ring room to room nearly impossible to some rooms...always rang engaged even though we know is wasnt. There were not enough electric mosquitoe thingies to plug into the wall......4 of our family had had Dengue Fever (from Bali) previously so we are very careful not to get bitten. We had to go out to buy either coils or more electric anti mosquito things for the other rooms occupied by our family.
Room service was slow. We booked a dinner at the main restaurant for all of us 24 hours ahead, advising them of what everyone wanted to eat. On the night of the dinner,
the first course took forever to come out and when it did it was cold. They just dont seem to have any idea of what to do. For breakfast some of the cooks doing an omelet, eggs etc look like they dont know how to cook a poached egg!! Bacon has to be ordered, tea/coffee was often served cold.
The lunch time restaurant in the middle of the pool area had nice food and seemed to be a bit more organised BUT it took 25 minutes most days to actual get you meal.
There is a swim up bar but no other place were you can sit and order a drink in the whole place. After coming home at night from a dinner somewhere there is absolutely nothing to do....no pool table, no bar, no lounge area.
Also for kids (other than toddlers) there is no area where they can throw/kick a ball around, play games, tabletennis or anything for them to do other than swim or go on the internet.
The position of the hotel is quite good as its within walking distance of restaurants (recommend Coconuts Bar/restaurant just 50mtres left towards the beach). Coconuts managed to feed 22 of us one night with booking made about 2 hours beforehand without too much trouble.
Rawaii Palm beach Resort need to train their staff and put on more staff to cope with the amount of people that were staying there. Also to get staff to pick up rubbish etc as they walk past instead of leaving it for someone else.
Oh yes another thing....there were groups of very loud Chinese tourists that booked in most nights between 10pm - 3am .... they made such a noise just walking past, they would wake us up plus then some of them would decide to go swimming!! I spoke to a couple of these people and they told me they were on a 6 day trips....2 days Pattaya, 2 days Bangkok and 2 days Rawaii Beach, so they would be excited to get somewhere but doen't make for a pleasant stay for the rest of the guests.
I hope if you stay there, then things might have improved. We still had a great holiday but things need to be more organised etc.

We stayed there for 4 nights, the resort certainly looks the part, the room was amazing, but is let down by some ( not all) of the staff. The porter walked us half way to our room, then said something we didn't understand and wandered off leaving us to climb 4 flights of stairs with our luggage (we later found the lift). The restaurant employed someone who's job it was to ensure the screen saver never can on on the computer, they were there every day, they never served anyone and when it came to getting the bill they had to ring someone as they didn't know how the computer worked! The staff on reception were very good, though it would have been nice if they kept the taxi touts outside the hotel.

The pool was great, lots of space and a nice design so there was lots to explore. The free wifi was nice. The food was general good, but nothing special.

All in all it was good value for money nice place to relax.

New hotel but over run by chinese tourists.
The rooms are clean and new of a resanable quality.
The front desk staff are not really up to the task of dealing with English speaking tourist when there is a problem.
The buffet breakfast is not so good but passable.
Not a great value hotel but we would go back.

Room Tip: sea veiw rooms are nice
