“Could be better with a Manager”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

We arrived on Christmas Eve at about 1pm clad in warm winter clothing absolutely exhausted from our journey and told our room would not be ready for another hour or so. When we asked the reception staff where we could change out of our hot weather clothes we were sent to change in the toilets in the gym. No privacy and no security. Not a good start. However, when our room was ready it was large and spacious and everything worked albeit a little tired. They should clean the rooms first for the incoming guests as everyone else is out by the pool all day and would not be bothered.
There is a surfeit of young, well intentioned, smiley staff who do not speak English at all well. We saw no one who resembled a manager at all. No one seems to be over the age of 25. The sunbeds were in a terrible state and so uncomfortable that I had to buy a lilo to sit on mine – for a resort that’s main draw is pool and beachside life, this should be attended to.
The pool is fantastic, large and infinity with a spectacular view. However, it was full of screaming children so an afternoon snooze was impossible.
The food is good. The setting is lovely. We have enjoyed it but it is NOT the luxury one expects in Thailand. Large plastic tubs of mayonnaise on what would otherwise be an attractive bar. A few little details like this could be quickly corrected by an Alex Polizzi type. Actually I am doing it myself by writing this report. Come on guys this is a fabulous resort in a fabulous location. Get a good German or Swiss manager in for a month to sort the few easily, inexpensively fixed - but important faults.

Room Tip: One near the main pool.

As I am writing this review, we are still here in Phuket. I was going to give this resort a 3.5 stars, but after talking to the reception just now, it's only worth a 3 stars now.
We booked this resort over 2 months ago through their own website, we booked a pool villa and their rate was very reasonable among this time of the year (22-25/12).
Good points are:
Villa 33 is of good location, we get sea view in the bedroom, bath tub & the shower room!
The resort is very nicely laid out, lots of trees around & most villas have lots of privacy.
The main pool is very nice with great view.
Now comes the "not-so-good":
As I mentioned earlier, we booked through them over 2 months ago, and we requested a late check-out at the time. I understand it's their busy time of the year and "probably" most of the villas are booked. I just got off the phone with the reception lady and she told me that "our villa is expecting guests tomorrow and we need to check out at 12pm". On the day we arrived (22/12), this villa was not even ready at 4pm, when we finally got in the room, there were no face and hand towels, no toiletries had been refilled.
Water pressure in the shower room was weak, so called housekeeping & they fixed it. Reason being the filter was badly blocked.
There was a nail sticking up in the wooden floor in the shower room, again that got cleared up after calling housekeeping.
Temperature of the air conditioning in the bathroom would not go below 25C, technician fixed that after reporting the problem.
The resort lacks the attention to details, as most of the problems we raised shouldn't even have existed if their maintenance is of high standard.
All in all, it seems like all the excellent reviews are from people who are on honeymoon, have their wedding here or stayed at low season period.
I just wish they could improve the service.

Room Tip: Villa 33 is great,it's private, have your own pool & sea view in all the rooms!

Location : Fantastic, Resort is spreaded over large area.
Services : One cannot not expect more than what they provide.. Superrrr
Villas : Beautifully furnished and located. We stayed in beach front villa, perched right on the beach. I much prefer beach front villa to plunge pool villa. Bath tub and shower area have beach facing windows. All Villas are segregated by beautiful landscaping and takes care of privacy also.
Swimming Pool : holds a fascination for all guests....!
Food : Awesome. We were little worried about food as we are vegetarian. But, chef personally took care and prepared varieties of veg food specially for us. All I can say is that we were served veg Samosa. :-)
Overall property is exclusive and best for leisure. We found worth spending as kind hopitality turned our vacation truely worth.

Room Tip: If beach front villa, villa no. 9. Facing beach and on the right side there is a pond with fountain...

We stayed at the Vijitt Resort for our two weeks honeymoon break and whatever I say it is not good enough to describe this beautiful hotel and staff.

The service is excellent. I have never seen such polite people (always smiling).
We stayed in a sea view villa and what a view!

The only down is the beach. If what you after is a beach holiday, this might not be the place for you. The beach is very shallow and need to walk about 300 metres to get into the water when the tide is out. But who needs to get into the sea with such a fantastic infinity pool with sea views!

We were on breakfast basis and even though the hotel has reasonable food prices (for UK) we ate out most of the times. There are very nice local restaurants just 5 minutes walk from the hotel (in the small village). There is also a food market 2 days a week which is very interesting. But if you don’t mind walking for 15-20 minutes, you can find lots of restaurants and shops in Rawai Beach. You can basically have a meal for £4 each. We liked the Laguna bar for a drink and play pool and next door restaurant for dinner (I think it was called pho restaurant or something similar).

There are some taxi ranks outside the hotel if you prefer. We managed to get the same taxi driver for the 2 weeks at very cheap trip prices

I would definitely stay at the Vijitt Resort if I come back to Rawai.

Relax and pamper yourself at the Vijitt Resort.

Room Tip: Don't go for the beach view villas. Don't have balcony and they are not as private as the se...

we had been searching for somewhere to get married and tripadvisor helped us alot so i thought i would write about our experience. we began to search for resorts to get married in and sent an email to the Vijitt resort we had a reply within a few hours and from then on they were very fast to contact us back. the service we got was wonderful and whatever we requested they helped us out with.
our first visit to the Vijitt was 10 days before the wedding and we were blown away with the beauty of the place! we had a yummy lunch in the bar then met Tara for a chat about the wedding and she showed us around the resort it is set on an amazing hill side overlooking the beach and islands in the distance.
8 days later my two bridesmaids and i checked in. they were as blown away as what i was with how lovely the place was, we were given a ride to our room on a golf buggy which will take you around when you need to get anywhere in the resort, the room was lovely, clean, huge bathroom with the coolest outdoor shower i have ever seen. we then got changed and went down for a swim in the huge pool overlooking the beach.
that night we all had a massage in the spa which was lovely, i loved the little welcome drink and cookie they give you.
the food was amazing that night for dinner and then breaky was even better a huge selection.
the next day was my wedding day, after a quick manicure at the spa we moved into villa number 4 which is a pool villa, and i was blown away even more, i was in paradise!
the villa was amazing with the pool leading from the bedroom and the deck off the lounge. the bathroom was lovely with another outdoor shower and lovely Vijitt soap which i brought home cause i loved so much. the villa is split into two areas one for lounge and other for bedroom and bathroom, both have a toilet which is good.
the bed has a great canopy over it and the roof is amazing on the inside( you must spend time looking up into the roof).
Time for the wedding. it was all i could have ever dreamed of and more the set up was amazing on the grass overlooking the water (lets face it sand in shoes is horrible) chairs set out and flowers every where and a beautiful arch way covered in flowers for us to marry under. the celebrant was australian which was good, he was very lovely. the photos even better and so quick to get back to you, the food was great lots to choose from and the cool bar they had set up outside for our guest only, did amazing cocktails. the staff especially Tara who was with us the whole day, made sure everything was ok and that we were having a good time, very smiley and happy people.
i cannot fault the Vijitt at all it was the best time of my life, we stayed for another 2 nights and enjoyed being away from the crazy patong beach. it really makes you feel as though you have had a good break away from work and everyday life.
i highly recommend the Vijitt to any body young or old traveling to phuket for a holiday.
a huge thank you to all the staff there for our wonderful stay and amazing wedding!!

Room Tip: if you can afford go for a pool villa

We spent 10 days at the Vijitt, I really can't commend everyone at the resort enough, from the time we arrived at the Airport, to the time we were dropped off, everythIng was flawless. The staff are genuinely friendly and happy, they take a real interest in what you are doing, and offer help if it is needed. From small things, like changing a light bulb at 8pm, to the waiters passing on tips on where the nice quiet little beaches are, this resort is a cut above the rest.

Perfectly situated if you want a quiet romantic holiday, yet not so far that you can't get to the night life of the island. We rented scooters from the resort, 200 baht per day and it was well worth it to get around. (If you do that wear the helmet, I got a fine for not wearing mine, even though the entire populace were going past bear headed)

I really can't say enough about how much we loved our holiday and it was partly because it started on such a good foot with the hotel. Do not hesitate to stay here, you won't be disappointed, if you are worried about some comments, and the lack of English, remember, we are the ones in a foreign land.

Me and my Partner stayed at the Vijitt for 11 nights and we cannot fault it at all. We had the most amazing time and did not want to leave. The staff really made the stay for us with the buggy service ( especially Tom ) and the general kindness of every body. The food at the Savory and at the Baan restaurants were very good and once again everyone was just so lovely kind and friendly.

The free trip to Coral Island is a must - the only thing I would say is be very careful of the sun as there is not much shade. Me and my Partner went on the second day and got serve burns. We ended up at the hospital but once again I asked at reception and they gave me some remidies very helpful.

Overall the location is good. Not far from anywhere really and you can rent a car or a moped which we did nearly every day ( they run a free shuttle bus from hotel into Patong ) they are fairly cheap to rent as well.

Our stay here was amazing and we are happy to recommend to everyone we thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Thailand. So thank you very much to everyone :D

Kind regards

Lauren and Mike
