Owner description: Winding its way through a truly dramatic 1400 rai former tin mine site in the heart of Phuket, Red Mountain is one of Asia's most exciting new courses that officially opened in 2008. The course has been cleverly routed to take advantage of a huge variety of landforms and dizzying elevation changes. Scars left from the tin mine era have been imaginatively incorporated into the overall scheme, creating a unique character at the same time as establishing an indelible link with an important era in the Island's past. Designer Jon Morrow and co-designer Al Tikkanen, have created a highly strategic and challenging 6,900 yard lay out to complement the shorter and gentler Loch Palm which is next door. While the course is undoubtedly challenging, numerous risk and reward options create a fun playing environment, an exhilarating test of golf and a breathtaking scenic tour around a course that has become a golfing landmark in the region.

Its a good course with challenging layout and good views but at almost US$200 per game inclusive buggy, caddy fees and 'compulsory' tips, I would golf in a country with a cooler climate.

Golf in Phuket is expensive but if you are going to play, Red Mountain is a great choice. 18 varied holes, with a lots of tight fairways (leave your driver at home), plenty of approach shots over water onto super fast, well kept greens. You'll do well to play to your handicap here.

Scenery is stunning all the way round and signature hole (17th) is great fun - especially if you par it :-)

Changing facilities also good for that much needed shower afterwards.

Note as with all courses in Phuket there is a fee for all non golfers accompanying you on your round - its 1050 baht plus buggy (700 baht) here which seems crazy but hey ho.

The course within the grounds of a former tin mine is simply stunning. Maintenance of greenery is very well done. The staff/caddies are all very friendly - and more importantly - very knowledgeable when it comes to reading the greens.
Yes, it is the most expensive course around but worth it every penny.

This is my favorite Golf Course in Phuket. The course is demanding but also very beautiful with a number of signature holes. Caddies are knowledgeble and very helpful. Also the facilities are in great shape and the Restaurant serves fine Food.
This is a course you shouldn't miss!!!

This is an exclusive and beautiful golf course in Phuket. Convenient and easy to find (close to the famous Loch Palm course and the British International School).

Being the most expensive green fee on the island (THB 6000) you can be sure of avoiding the crowds you may find on other courses, and this is a big plus on holiday!

Otherwise, the course is stunning. With a beautifully crafted course between the "red mountains", it is a stunning course to play. Greens and grass are moderately well maintained.

The area benefits from a lovely breeze all day long, so even the hottest of days are manageable.
