We stayed in the hotel for a week and enjoyed it very much.

There is a catch, about 160 steps upstairs to our room (D8) :) That was what we were not prepared for, but the room and view compensated it all! Rooms were very nice and spacious, clean and quiet. At night it seemed as you were camping with all the sounds of nature. Staff was very friendly and nice although didn´t speak English very much. Luggage was also carried upstairs, so no strugle with that.

Try not to leave smth important to your room, when you go down, cause you do not want go back up allover again. We tried to take everything we could with us, so that we spent the first half of day at beach, then went to get shower and change clothes for the evening part. For positive side - great exercise for vacation :)

Beach is close, also good resturants with live music every night (Outdoors restaurant) and shopping. If you have motorbike hired, then it is very close to nice viewpoints and other beaches.

I sugest to try also the Kata Hiclass Massage salon downstears just next to the hotel entrance. Very nice service and good massage.

So I sugest the hotel, but not in the case you have small children or health problems (stairs!).

We arrived early but the staff allowed us to check in, unlike our friends at a 4 star hotel who had to wait until 2 pm. The room was spotless, the bed was reasonably comfortable. As has been said many times, a large hike up lots of stairs to reach most of the rooms. Our room (8A) had unobscured views of Kata Bay, absolutely stunning. The wifi worked great for the first 2 days and was sporadic for the last 2. They have a fantastic infinity pool overlooking Kata Bay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a central hotel in this price range.

There was something special about this place! The way it was laid out was pretty unique. You need to be prepared for the hike up to the rooms but the view is worth it. It is quiet and beautiful. Lots of butterflies around and beautiful plants. The people are super nice and the lady that makes you breakfast each morning is really special. It is really close to 2 different beaches and lots of yummy food nearby. I would highly reccommend staying here if you are able to climb stairs easily. 148 steps to our room, we liked it because we felt like we could eat anything knowing we would burn off the calories on the way home!

Good points - Nice location in Kata, short walk to beach. Nice view of the sea from some units. Nice breeze. Good price, nice staff, good breakfast.

Bad points - There were 178 STEPS going to our unit. Sounds like no problem until you realize you forgot your sunscreen and have to go back up. You need a shower after every time climbing the stairs. ANIMAL CRUELTY - for some inexplicable reason they have raptors in small cages who can't even spread their wings a bit. They have a large mammal in a small cage outside who just laid on its side the whole time with labored breathing. I expect he will be dead soon. This is the main reason I would never go back. RUDE RUSSIANS - everyone knows they are an ongoing problem in Thailand resort areas, esp now in Phuket. We had the misfortune of being next to a group of Russians who came home stinking drunk at 4 AM, woke us up and then proceeded to start a party on their balcony next to ours with loud music. The security guard admitted he was afraid to talk to them. They yelled at me and refused to turn off the music. The lack of sleep ruined our next day. The manager gave us a new room the next day right next to new construction where they started working at 6 AM, which woke us up again. We appreciated the effort, but, it was obviously a no-win situation for good sleep.

Room Tip: If you have a heart for animals then don't stay here, it will be upsetting and depressing. If you don't like Russians, then go to a more expensive place which isn't included in cheap tour packages from Siberia.

The hotel had an excellent View, but unexpected hostile service from every single staff, apart from one very friendly and helpful gentleman. Practically no smiles from the staff.
Most troubling would be two hawks in a cage and a raccoon in another near the hotel office. They looked really miserable.

While walking back one evening, a dog strayed into the compound. A male worker threw a metal wrench at it to chase it away.
