“Extremely Disappointing”
Reviewed January 12, 2009

I booked the Absolute Patong Ville over the New Year holiday, and I was not impressed. Especially considering the relatively high rate we paid (even through LateStays it was 2800 baht a night). Several things people need to be aware of if you are thinking of staying at this hotel.

Location – it’s not close to anything. Really, you need a taxi or tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi to get anywhere. The free shuttle is okay, but it drops you off at the far south end of Patong Beach, meaning you still need to walk 10 minutes to get to the middle of anything. Although I would recommend visiting the Sunshine Bar across the street from the shuttle drop-off/pick-up location in that the staff there are very friendly. We visited the bar several times waiting for the shuttle. Also important to note that many tuk-tuk drivers and even motorbike taxis have no idea where the hotel is located. And the tuk-tuk drivers wanted more money for driving up the hill.

Rooms – we chose a poolside room instead of the hillside. While the hillside rooms did have a very narrow and steep staircase to climb (difficult to manage with luggage I imagine), at least they had some nice views from up there. The poolside rooms had a view of the pool. And that’s it. Keep in mind the door to the poolside rooms is the sliding glass patio door, and not your standard hotel door. The bathroom was okay, but smallish. But there was a large crease in the shower door, where if you weren’t careful you could get the entire bathroom drenched.

Noise – very little mention on this site about the noise level in each room. Being that we had a pool-side room, I can’t comment on the hillside room. But the street noise in the room is terrible and very noisy. I was amazed at how the sound of traffic at all times day and night would channel up the hill directly into the room, even with the door closed.

I should also add that the hotel lost power TWICE during our stay. Once upon check-in, and once upon check-out. Because of the out of way location the power was not restored very quickly. Oh, and there are definitely more mosquitos and other flying bugs up in the hills.

All in all, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again or recommend to anyone. In fact, I even checked out early to get a better hotel. Even though I was charged a penalty fee for early departure. Jerks.

A boutique and romantic resort perfectly located on Patong Beach, Phuket. The resort is only a few steps to Patong beach and within a short walking distance to shopping, entertainment and night life jungle of Phuket. Was mightly impressed with the hotel. Our room was excellent with a magnificent view of the beach and sun-setting view. The service we received from all the hotel staff was excellent, with everyone being extremely helpful and courteous.

Response was fast to the amendment of my bookings. Will like to thanks the agents who attended to my booking. Overall a great experience at an awesome hotel in a great location and need not think twice to celebrate a beautiful holiday at Phuket !

I stayed there three times for totaly 3 months ( one month a time). In 2003,2004 and2005. first of all it's a good place to stay for just little money.

You stay in the middle of the jungle near Patong beach on the way to Karon. The rooms are clean and the staff (Thai) are nice and gentle. If possible you better rent a bike (are avaiable by the hotel) during your stay. This is because the distance to Patong and the beach is to big for walking, and taxis's are expensive in Patong compared with other places in Thailand. you will need a drivers license for a motorbike!

The rooms have airco, king sizes beds and cable tv. thebungalow 's also have a little balcony where you can sit and relax and enjoy the sights of Patong.

They clean the rooms every day and clean sheets and towels are standard changed every day.

In the middle of the complex there's a very nice swimmingpool with a bar. I spent a lot of time there ( even when it was raining)

Negative is the poor lockes on the doors of the bungalow's. And there was no hot water during my last stay for a month. even when I ask for it. Also troubles with the toilet gave me a bad feeling because the owners tryed to blame me for it and try charge me. That's why I didn't stay there for an other time.

The last time I was there to see (2007) the swimmingpool was in bad condition.

i'ts a good place and the nature is really wonderfull. O.k. you need some tranportation, but if you have, you wont regret it. It's a good place for just little money. So don't complane or judge to hard. Lack of hot water and the poor conditons of the swimmingpool is for now a point to look for an other place. Pitty otherwise it would be number 1 for me.

I booked this hotel for an initial 6 nights and ended up staying 16 nights. I had a great room with a stunning ovean view. There was clean sheets and clean towels every day and the room didn't smell like a dead horse. You could open up the sliding doors to the balcony and look out onto Patong Beach all day.

the pool area was great with a swim up bar, although it was low season and I think only a handful of rooms were occupied so the swim up bar was rarly manned. You can rent a motor bike from the hotel, which is definelty the smart thing to do, you will pay about 100 baht each way in a taxi to get ot the beach, so you will actually save money by hiring a motorbike and it gives you the freedom to do whatever you want.

The hotels reception area is open, and attached to the hotel is an excellent seafood and Thai restaurant with two for one cocktail happy hours. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and green with water falls and fountains.

There is cable tv and a fully stocked bar fridge, a split system air con and in room safe. The beds are a little hard but they are big.

Problems -

Someitmes the internet didn't work, just need to reboot the computer.

The power went out a few times in heavy storms

I suggest asking for a pool view room, all rooms are the same but the walk up the hill to the sea view room is only fun once, trust me on this.

Apart form those minor issues, I loved it and will certainly return next time I am in Phuket. If you are looking for an extremely clean hotel in Patong just out of the rat race then this is the place.

The only thing budget about this hotel is the price, I picked this up for 900 baht per night, which is great for the quality of the hotel, they could possible charge double that price and still get it.

I stumbled on this little gem of a mini-resort and loved it. I stayed on Patong Beach and this place is JUST far enough to feel like you're on a real holiday and not dealing with touts selling fake Rolexes. Its 2km away from the beach but has an excellent pool, superb staff, AC, nice showers and Sat TV.

I can't say enough about this place. NOW...bear in mind this is Thailand and I'm basing my high score on the area. Thge beds were rock hard and the Sat TV had limited choices but the place is so well kept up and so well managed, you can't help but love thge place. I stayed there twice, for a total of 5 nights.

The room service menu was always frustrating since they never had anything but other than that and the hard mattresses, the place is a nice respite from crazy Patong Beach.

The sheets were sparkling white, the towels were soft, and they even rent scooters so you're not running down to the beach to rent one.

Sopa, the evening reception person is outstanding.
