Just back from 11 nights at the Millennium. If you're thinking of staying there, don't book anything less than the Lakeside Grand Deluxe with Pool View. Our first room was a Deluxe with a delightful view of a multi storey carpark, bus depot and self storage warehouse. All of the Deluxe rooms have dodgy views. I upgraded our room the next morning to the Pool View for an extra $AU30 per night and was so glad I did. As an added bonus, the free wifi works on the balcony of these rooms...
For some strange reason, the noise from people passing your door is very loud, as is the noise from adjoining rooms. It's as if there is no soundproofing at all. The breakfast buffet is OK; it caters for the 95% Japanese and Chinese guests that they have so it's quite limited for Western tastes. Restaurant staff were lovely, the pool area is fabulous and was never crowded (the pool at the Beachside is a tiny rectangle - not inspiring at all!) Being attached to Jungceylon is great, easy to pick up supplies from the supermarket or to shop out of the rain and/or heat.
The Holiday Inn was more kid friendly with activities organised for them, but this is a nice place to just chill by the pool.More
