We have been regularly travelling to Phuket since 1997 and have stayed at a large number of other resorts in the Patong beach area, including those ones which are most notably marketed to Australian travellers through travel agents. We chanced across the Salathai Resort several trips back and have now stayed there for the past 2 years. Without a doubt the Salathai is the best value resort in Phuket and we would never stay anywhere else now. It is not a 5 star luxury resort - but it has all the amenties which we need to make for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. There are only around 40 rooms which are spacious and comfortable and meticulously cleaned. There is just one pool with a children's pool section and a spa - but the pool is fine and you never need to fight for a pool bed. We never usually eat in our hotel because of the plethora of wonderful restaurants and street vendors in the Patong beach area to choose from - however since staying at the Salathai we eat regularly in the resort because the food is fantastic, there is such care and thought which go into the presentation and preparation, and it is so reasonably priced. It is always a really nice atmosphere around the resort with guests from all over the globe and because it is only a small resort, it is very friendly and personal. The staff at the Salathai are just amazing - there is nothing they won't do for you and always with a smile. The location of the Salathai is also great as it is easy walking distance to the entertainment precincts and just a very short stroll down to the beach. You don't walk straight out to the hustle and bustle and all the market stalls and touts. Excellent day spa facilities are available at the Salathai's sister resort (The Nap) and transfers provided. All in all the Salathai really is a hidden little gem and we cannot sing its praises lodd enough. Already booking again for April 2012.

I reviewed many hotels & picked Salathia coz of Trip Advisor reviews & was extremely satisfied. Its a boutique hotel with 5 star facilities. Spacious room with balcony, Free minibar & renovated bathrooms. Excellent spread of breakfast with the beach in sight. Many restaurants, bars, Spa & massage parlours right outside. Excellent pool & overall a very relaxed resort. great find & better than other crowded, noisy hotels that we checked in phuket. Free use of computer in the lobby near reception.

Room Tip: patong beach in sight

This was a fabulous experience. The staff at Salathai Resort are supper friendly! The location is perfect, peace within the noise of Patong. The rooms are well equipped and the pool is just dreamy! The food is great and the prices are not bad.
We will most certainly be back!

Room Tip: Book a ground floor room!

Having arrived from hectic Bangkok with a lost case, this hotel was a blessing. The staff were friendly, helpful (they sorted the lost case situation immediatley) and were always interested in your day.
The hotel is clean well presented, peaceful and relaxing. The meals were excellent and not all that expensive, with the breakfast being included in the price.
The hotel has a very personal feel to it, the staff make you feel very welcome and were always on hand to deal with any enquiries. They also love to talk about back home, discussing the snow or the results of the football.
All in all a fantastic and well recommended place to stay.

Very pleased with this hotel. It successfully combines location, quality of service and price!
Sense the hand of a caring owner of the hotel. Every detail that surrounds this hotel promises a good night's rest. Staff very friendly, all the guests - the respectable people of Germany. The hotel is always nice to relax and there is never a fuss.
I will definitely stop again and will recommend this island of tranquility to your friends.

We stayed at Salathai Resort in Nov 2010 and had a great time. The staff are so friendly and the resort is situated in a great location, an easy walk to down town and beach. Breakfast was included in our tarriff and the food was great. Very impressed with the way they catered for the breakfast preferences of so many different nationalities. And of course the egg station became a personal favourite. The rooms are perfectly adequate and while the Asian bathroom thing takes a little bit of getting used to (for a Westerner) once we learned not to leave anything on the bathroom floor, we were right! The free minibar (sans alcohol) and the DVD player in the room made it even more inviting. We'll be back.

This was my first stay at the Salathai and I though it was a great little hotel. The room was good, I liked the wet room and they give you flip flops so you don't get water all round the room LOL! Only slight issue was the shower tend to run hold and cold, but hey, the rest of the hotel more than made up for it.

Staff couldn't have been more friendly, especially when sorting me out with a scooter and were extremly helpful overall. I didn't eat in the resturant, but the breakfast was very nice with a decent spread.

Highly recommended, I shall be abck in February!
