We have just stayed at the Paragon for 11 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We stay in one of the Deluxe rooms for the first two nights and then upgraded to a Pool Access room and it was fantastic. We could step straight into the fabulous pool from our room. Very nice.
The bath rooms are very big with a large shower and a nice big separate bath. The bed was the only slight negative, it was a bit too hard but because of every thing else in the room we did not really care to much and sort of got use to it by the time we left.
The staff we found to be very friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting you when ever they saw you.
The hotel has two restaurants that we found to serve a good selection on Thai and Western style food at very reasonable prices so on those nights when you did not feel like going out you were not being ripped off with normal hotel prices. Even the Cocktails were a reasonable price. The buffet breakfast was also very good going from 6 till 11 so it was still open if you slept in a bit.
The Hotel is positioned at one end of Patong Beach, so it is about a 20 min walk to the busy Bangla Road area of Patong, however we found this to be a good thing because you were well away from the main hussle and bussle of this popular tourist strip. The hotel does run a one-way shuttle bus 3 times a day from the hotel to the Bangla Road Shopping center so you only then needed to catch a tuk tuk for the return trip which was between 150 and 200 bart depending on how good you are a bartering.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice hotel that is well priced, clean, well appointed at the quieter end of Patong Beach.

Thank you to all the staff at the Paragon Resort and Spa
Stephen and Karen.

Don't stay here if you want to enjoy the true spirit of Thailand and Thai people.

I feel sad for the many people who travel from worlds away to experience Thailand but end up at this hotel.  Based on my experience living and traveling in this region, it represents the worst of my Thailand experiences if not all of S.E. Asia!  Sadly, the reception and management ruined the trip for me and I couldn't wait to leave!
You will HATE this hotel if the finer points matter:
- Having the city sewage (or similar stinky drainage) drain directly into your stretch of the beach seems unhealthy
- Courteous reception is important
- Being 'nickle and dimed' at an already overpriced hotel gets on your nerves
- Needing a 'coupon' for your sugar water welcome drink seems a little '1-star'
The pros:
- Bellmen and restaurant staff were delightful
- Rooms were nice and clean
- Pretty pool
We stayed at the Le Meridian on a previous trip and were quite happy.  Even better, if you aren't hung-up on being in the city, stay at Dewa Hotel right next to the airport.  You'll save a ton of time and money along with having a pleasant stay.
Good luck.

Dear Sir:

Greeting from the true southern Thailand hospitality " Patong Paragon Resort & Spa" Phuket, Thailand..

First of all, we would like to thank you for staying with us and took sometims to comments about the property. This means that you are still care and want us to improve ours that did not meet with your satisfaction. However, aside from that it seem you were appreciated and complement a lots on our property and staffs such as " Bellman/Restaurant staffs were delightful, Room were nice & clean and pretty Pool ". One thing which was not concern directly with the Hotel is the drainage system by the beach road, we would raise your comment to the community official department concerned on this subject. and as for incidental expenses & prices of services in each property have different operating cost therefore the prices would be varried and could not be the same. The so called " Sweet Water" was actually our Thai Herbal Drinks, it might not be like by some but we thought that we are in Thailand and would like guest to experience our typical Thai famous herbal drink ( along with Thai foods & Fruit which have already well known worldwide ). Our staff might not informed you properly, please accept our apology. Coupon/Voucher do not represent any hotel classification directly, we have using it because we experienced majority of our guests do not like to have Welcome Drink right away upon check-in. To identify & indicate that one is our guest, we have to use coupon/voucher's like so guest can use it anytime they like to drink whilst staying with us. If this caused you inconvenience, we do apologize.

Finally, thank you again for taking your valuable time to write this constructive comments, we will make sure that guests will be treated well and satisfied. Look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Yongsak Natpracha (Mr)
General Manager

I booked this hotel from Phuket airport without any prior information. The airport counter's saleslady just recommended this hotel for my honeymoon. I felt the price was okay based on a 4 star hotel. Later, i also checked on agoda.com and realized that i got a pretty good deal from airport.

Check-in procedure was smooth and we were given a room on 3rd floor. Later, i requested them to change my room, as I found many ants in the bathroom.

Our new room was very spacious and amazingly structured. The bathroom was amazing and also had rose petals in the bathtub filled with water. We were also presented with a small cake in our room as their gesture.
Our room was directly facing the enormous swimming pool which looked outstanding.

The main highlight for this hotel is their breakfast. Its one of the best i have even had with the biggest variety I have ever seen.

My initial plan to stay in phuket was 5 nights but i liked phuket and my stay so much that I extended it from 5nights to 8 nights...

My overall stay was simply perfect !

Hotel is clean, spacious room, nice & wt awesome swimming pool. Food is quite reasonably priced in restaurant. but spa massage can be 5 times costlier than outside. Location is quiet (positive) but its on the far extreme to Patong Centre (negative). Taxi is costly, at 200Baht (=SGD10) just for a 1km trip & taxi to Airport cost a bomb 750 Baht (=SGD35). Concierge staff like Sombat & Boonlert are very helpful & speak 'understandable' English. Saichon (FO mgr) is a great help & so is Attapon. Nuchsara (Front Office staff) is blatantly rude & enjoys picking a fight wt most guests for no reason nor rhyme.

Writing this review to do repay review on this hotel by others.

Location: North end of Patong, a tutuk ride away which cost 150bht (after bargaining from 200bht)

Hotel : Rooms arranged in a rectangle shape surrounding the pool. A gym, spa, internet room (at a cost), 2 restaurants and a bar. Common corridor tend to get wet during rainy days (effort to keep them dry is evident by the pressence of large towel to soak up water).
Provide complimentary shuttle to Jungceylon 3X daily with advance booking. However, receptionist accomodated our late request when we found out about the shuttle and it was raining.

Room: Huge with an cosy area with extra mattress. Bed was reviewed to be hard but it is comfortable for me though joining 2 super single beds as king bed. Toilet is large with tub and shower.

Overall an enjoyable stay as the occupancy rate is low due to off peak season. Some poor services reviewed may be attributed to poor command of english by staffs. Some patience is required to get other to know what is need. eg Reqest for sea facing room is entertained by receptionist who suggested we viewed the room before making a decision.

p/s: Try not to book excursion on the net as reviewed by others, booths along the street are offering better rates.

A trip to Phi Phi Island by big boat (cruise) will take you roughly 4-5hrs 2 ways with actual time spending there a mere 3hrs including lunch.

Likewise for James Bond's Island, travelling time is about 4hrs 2 ways with only 2hr there including lunch at Malay village on sea.

Trip to Fantasea is enjoyable though costly. You could actually take a photo with aTiger cub at 700bht (which some animal activist is against). The pyrotechnic used during the show may caused discomfort to young children or infants
