“Clean Hotel, but Not 4 Stars!”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel in November of 2012, and here is our review.

First of all, this hotel is not a 4-star facility, but more of a clean 3 or 3.5 stars! We stayed for three nights and there were both positives and negatives--for us. The positives are that the staff was attentive and the restaurant was clean, with a nice breakfast buffet. The main negative, for us, was the bed. Our bed was more like a firm futon mattress, which left me with a small backache when we left to go to stay at JW Marriott!

The main pool was adequate, but nothing to brag about. The water was somewhat cool, and could have used a more thorough cleaning of the sand from previous day. Back to the restaurant, although the hotel gave us a 15% discount coupon, we were more adventurous and ate at less expensive Thai places down the beach area!

This hotel is located at the North end of Patong Beach, so if you're looking for more nightlife, you may want to stay further South. Overall, for this hotel, I'd give it a clean 3 stars.

Room Tip: Any room would be fine, but beware of the noise from the street up until around 7pm. The annoying n...

We are a couple of guys from UK. Frankly, we are always stay in a place suitable for us. This time, a certain place was fully booked and we were told to try Patong Paragon. At first, we were reluctant to stay because we afraid of being discrimination, etc. But Good Lord.. This place was a heaven. At check-in, we requested Double Bed and Reception was kind enough to arrange it without expression of surprise or insulted at all. They were warm, kind, & friendly not only reception but also Porter, Chambermaid, waithelp & etc. The place itself is not big but enough space for everything, a Large room & Huge Swimming pool & fully equipeed business centre, Food wise is great especailly Seafood Restaurant with fresh food and reasonable prices. Breakfast was delicious and change menus every day ( we stayed one week ), In general, it was a memorable moment, we have had a wonderful time at Patong Paragon. This place treated everybody equally well indeed. We can consider (they do not know) this hotel a Gay Friendly !

Room Tip: Room over looking swimming pool is lovely for us.

Recently returned from a stay with Patong Paragon (oct 2012) A boutique resort 110 rooms , which always makes for a great stay as you get to know the staff by name and not busy or packed with guest.
Fantastic location across the road from patong beach. A 10 minutes slow walk from bangla road. Which is great cause you miss the hustle & the noise of being located closer.
The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly & will go to extreme lengths to make you happy.
If you visit please say hi to Em & his wife for me.
I travelled with friends & will return without hesitation. The breakfast is fantastic & the chef will make you anything you would like with a smile.
If your after simplicity with all the trimmings then this is it!!! Highly recommend

Myself, Boyfriend and 4 other friends had the most wonderful stay at this hotel! Go for the Pool Access Room worth the extra money, walk out to terrace and jump straight into the pool, which lead to the pool bar, drinks average price, bar staff were awesome, they surprisingly provided us with cups with ice while we bought our own drinks to mix AT the pool bar! You can even order food from the pool bar. The pool really is just amazing, in the pictures it seems like the rooms may block the sun from the pool but it didn’t, we had sun beaming on the pool pretty much all day. The air-conditioning in the rooms were the best, 24hr room service, they say you had to pay for Wifi but they just gave it to us for free, though we did have some problems in some areas of the hotel, was good most of the time. Bed’s were hard but we found out that was the case with most hotel’s in Thailand. The staff did not have the best English but we could understand them and they still provided fantastic customer service, everyone always warm, smiling and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was delicious, nothing better than waking up to breakfast ready to eat, make sure you book room that already has free breakfast with the room. The beach is 3 min walk, walk to main area (Bangla Rd) maybe 15-20min along the beach, but with lots of shops to look at on the way, taxi/tuk tuk to main area is very cheap, about $7AUD, and easy to get as soon as you walk out front the hotel. You get complementary 1kg of fruit on arrival per room, right next to reception is a very nice Thai lady with fantastic English who organized all of our tour days (Island tours, Elephant riding, Quad bike riding etc.) which always included transfer straight from hotel and back and gave us very good discount price because we were in a big group. At check-out time we just did not want to get out of bed so I rang reception to see the cost of late check-out and they offered us complementary 2 hours late check-out! My group and I can’t rave enough about this hotel just absolutely loved it :) Perfect for any type of family, group, couple or solo, though we did go during low peek season so we had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time. All in all I will stay here again when I come back next year!

We had the pool access room. Wonderful escape from the outside world. Swim to the bar for inexpensive cocktails - bliss. Our room wasn't near the main road so was very private and quiet.
Mo - the lady who organised tours - was a gem - great English communication - a mine of information and recommended exactly what we required. Saved us from a few bloopers. She is there over 12 hours a day. Nutsara at the desk was a delight and very helpful (got my local phone working). All the staff are a delight and so obliging. The rooms were spacious - very big (including the bathrooms) and beautifully decorated. Some might think the king beds were hard but that is the Asian style which you get most places in Asia.
Baan Rim Pa a restaurant 3 mins walk up the hill north, was a lovely romantic dining experience with wonderful Thai food for the special occasions and No.9 Restaurant across the road from the Lobby was great for casual dining with excellent Thai food (also have European food) at a good price.
Pen at No.8 Massage gives a good strong Thai massage (other staff weren't as knowledgeable or maybe not enthusiastic) - but for a first timer with Thai massage ask Pen to tone it down for you.
It cost 200bht for a ride to Bangla Road (each way) - not negotiable.
The hotel does a free shuttle each day also (to Jungceylon Shopping centre at the top of Soi Bangla).

Room Tip: Pool access best.
