Patong Paragon Resort & Spa
Ranked #118 of 331 Hotels in Patong
Reviewed September 4, 2012

We travelled all the way from South Africa to Bangkok for 3 days and then 7 days in Phuket as arranged by our Travel agent. First impression of the hotel was not so much. It like an ordinary
small boutique place but when we were welcomed by a friendly & efficient staffs and freah our room and found that it's huge !with full amenities and most importantly was cleanliness. Our perception was change to a good one. The swimming pool is large, I was told that it is around 1200 square metre free-form. My children were very much enjoyed this pool. Hotel have some Daily Activites for you to join, some are free and some are not. We did a Thai Cooking Class
once, the lady chef was great, freindly and speak good english. We learn how to make a world famous "Tomyumkoong" (spicy prawn soup) and sweet and sour fish. after finsihed, we received a Certificate as well. It was fun. The Hotel fitness centre was nice with lot of equipment plus a Sauna Room for you separately for male and female. Drink by the pool bar was nice, a little expensive but affordable. Beach on this side is more cleaner and quieter than other part of Patong. Those who like entertainment, just a walking distance to Banla Road or you can take a motorcycle taxi or Tuktuk to anywhere in Patong only 100 baht for one person one way but we rented motorbike ourselves to wandering around. It safe to drive here (Thailand like England that drive on leftside of the road) Hotel have underground carpark with security 24 hr. so you do not worry about your rented vehicle to disappear..If you find Hotel food rather boring, we suggest No9 restaurant opposite the hotel..Price is cheap, food taste OK.. We were very happy to stay here and will come back again next time

At first, we thought that reakfast becoming a Middle Eastern might have some difficulty staying here like some other Countries that we have been, they looked as if we were terrorist BUT here, on the contrary, we were treated like any other guests in the hotel which was filled up mainly Aussies & European. Room by the pool was lovely & spacious, full amenities provided, chambermaid come to clean to room regulary. Staff were all friendly, smile & helpful. Buffet breakfast was delicious and hot menu change everyday(only basic remain unchange like eggs, breads, salad, cereals, fruit etc)
One good thing to remember here is their customer, they seem to be middle & high class and they behave well, why, because, some other places, when they see my wife(who wear traditional black gawn & with viel cover the face) they seem to scare & behave like we are not human in this planet
here, they just look at us, smile and act normal. Tour counter in the hotel was great, the lady there was very helpful and we were enjoy the trip that she had arranged. Hotel also provided shuttle bus to the Big Shopping Mall called " Jungceylon". Beach is only a few steps away from the hotel. All in all, it was a great experience & relax to stay at Paragon. We deffinitely recommend to all my colleague in the office back in Dubai.

Room Tip: rooms by the poolside is excellent

We really enjoyed our recent stay here. The room was clean & spacious and overlooking the pool. The beds were very firm. The pool area was great, although not many sunbeds for the size of the hotel. Breakfast choice was excellent, the lady chef spoke good English and was very obliging.
The staff in general were very helpful, Internet cafe within the hotel had free Internet which was a bonus. The only negative was the young guy that picked us up from the airport drove like a mad man, we told the reception staff who said they would speak with him and 2 hours later he picked up our friends and their journey was the same. We were really tired after a long flight and the last thing we wanted was to be sitting on the edge of our seats for 45 minutes to the hotel.

Room Tip: We had 207 & 307 which overlooked the pool. Nice spacious rooms

My wife and I Stayed for 10 nights in August with 3 other couples. We all loved our stay in fantastic huge pool access rooms with wonderful daily breakfast at handily located dining room. The staff were friendly all be it with liitle English and communication at times was difficult but it was only a minor distraction and probably our only criticsm. The hotel is located across the road from the very end of Patong beach with a comfortable 15-20 minute walk along the beach or 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to Bangla Rd or you can book on shuttle bus to Jungceylon shopping centre which i recommend for value shopping .I can also recommend the the Siam Niramit show and meal as a worthwile experience. All in all we loved our Phuket holiday and would gladly recommend the Patong Paragon.

Room Tip: Book a pool access room.

Recent 7 night stay at the Patong Paragon, and it was worth it. Initially when we arrived at 1am, and upon receiving a room that looked over the road / beach, I was a bit apprehensive, due to traffic noise, but if you keep the balcony door closed, you don't really hear much at all, and what you do, you get used to it quickly. The room itself needs some refurb, especially the bathroom / shower tiling, which seemed a bit mouldy.
The pool area was great, with a good swim up bar... Only criticism would be the lack of pool deck chairs available. With this being low season, you only had access up to a maximum of approx 25, so I would hate to see it in peak season, you would have no chance.

The staff were great, very friendly and accomodating to any questions / needs you may have.

One tip though is with the pool towels that are available. make sure when you sign one out in the morning, you SIGN for it when giving it back. My wife and I took a couple on our first day, signed for them, and then placed them back when we were finished, but no one available to sign for them, so we placed them into the basket and left. For 3 days after that we were harassed by staff at our door and also the phone stating we needed to hand our towels back, to which we had... The natter was eventually sorted out, and not due to them believing us, but by looking at CCTV to see us drop them off !! So be careful, otherwise they will charge you for them, and they are certainly not worth the grief. All in all, I would still stay here again that is for sure, nice quiet end of town, approx 15 min walk along the beach into the action...

Room Tip: Stayed in room 324, as mentioned it overlooks the road / beach, so not a bad view by all means, and...

We were on our anniversary. This was our second time in Phuket. Last time we were at the Hotel on other beach but this time we tried this property as recommended by our Agent.
It was great and never felt any sorry. Everything was above expectation. We were treated very well. Room size was very big, bedding was comfortble, full amenities as for 4 stars hotel.
Swimming pool is huge with swim up bar...Hotel provided free shuttle to the biggest shopping mall in Patong. Hotel is situated on the quiet corner of north patong, very safe to stroll at night. Food and service was great. It made us feel at home. We surely have had a wonderful time this year at this reort. We will defenitely return to this hotel again next time..

Room Tip: This was one of the very few h

We were on our 14 days honeymoon trip in Thailand. We had a wonderful sightseeing & shopping spree in Bangkok., we spent 3 days there.,then, we proceed to Samui island for another 4 days..The island itself is OK, the local were friendly but the atmosphere and surrounding area and activities were not our type..It's like the Island for a Backpackers; sorry to say. Anyway, the last 7 days in Phuket was wonderful especially the resort; Patong Pargon,it'snot a luxury resort but a low rise boutique property located on the northern most of Patong Beach which is more cleaner and tranquil..Our great impression started from the Airport where we arranged pick-up. Hotel limo.waited for us infront of the terminal with our names written on the board, driver greeted us with a smile and hurried to assist us and pamper us all the way to the hotel. At the lobby , we met porter (bell hop) who stand by to help carry our belonging and show us to the reception area which is a sitting down check-in. lady there welcome us with a smile and gave us room key-card and a voucher for a welcome drink, a fruit for 1 kg. and a discount on foods, etc. which was nice. we went to our room on 2nd floor facing the pool. WOW!...the room size is huge ( its 53 sq.m , I've told ) which a private balcony , full amenities as normally have from a deluxe 4 star like this. Overlooking at the pool, My God! what a size......the staffs are friendly, efficient eventhough some do not understand English very well ( our UK accent causing trouble everywhere anyway ) but if you speak slowly, they understand...Food & drink in the hotel was delicious, we loved our BBQ fresh seafood at the seafood restaurant on night...opposite the hotel, they has a nice local restaurant called " No up 9", its worth a visit, price was reasonable. they have also 7-11 store for you to pick up some drinks orsnacks...There were a lot more to say..Anyway, it was over our expectation and we have had an enjoyable and memorable honeymoon and will definitely return for Anniversary..Thank you Phuket and Paragon hotel.

Room Tip: It seem like a room by the poolside is great, if you love swimming but the price is high a s well..
